Chapter 43: Fire Message

Alexander—Luka's father, also known as Samuel—smiled down at his son and said, "You're very smart, aren't you?" He laughed and Luka wanted to pit on his face but he knew well to not offend anyone while his hands are tied.

"So, I'm your new generation?" Luka said as calmly as he could. It wasn't what he just went through that hurt him the most, it was the betrayal that was eating him inside and out and it hurt.

Alexander glanced at his boy and smirked. "Of course, you're not." He said and Luka felt even more horrified when he realized what Alexander meant. "Your child, that is."

No. Luka won't let Alexander talk about his child like this. This man should hold no power over him but Luka had never felt scared like this. It was himself and River that he was worried about and now it was River alone, and yet somehow, it only made it worse.
