The forgotten one

Nari's urge to yawn led her to hit someone's tray of food. "Fuck! I'm really sorry. I didn't see you coming. Shall I buy you another lunch?" Nari kept on whisper-shouting to the other person while quickly picking up the food that fell on the floor. When nari stood up to face the other person, she found out that the other person was none other than ha eun. Nari was already starting to curse endlessly inside her mind. Ha eun took the tray from Nari's hand and smiled at her genuinely. Nari was taken aback at the girl's sudden action.

"I-" Ha eun was about to say something when someone came rushing towards her and nari. "Oh my gosh! Ha eun are you okay? What happened to your food?" Yon started throwing questions at ha eun making her unable to answer. "I was just wondering where the hell he was." Byung chul said while coldly eyeing Yon to which Yon stared back coldy at him and then he diverted his gaze to Nari. "Kim Nari? You again? Why can't you just leave Ha eun alone? You're so mean and selfish. You don't think about other person's feeling at all. No wonder your brother died and your mom left you. No one else could tolerate your selfishness and maybe that's why your brother died too." Yon burst out. "Yah! How could you say something so mean to a girl. You jackass." Byung chul was about to start a fist fight with Yon when Nari stopped him on his tracks. "Byung chul-ah. Save it. Why would you want to waste your precious breath on such a narrow minded bitchy jerk like him? Can't you see how low he can stoop just to embarrass someone? Fucking insensitive jerk. And just so you know I never tried to bully Ha eun. I was always trying to help her but you always came at the wrong time you bastard." Nari calmly said those words and left the cafeteria with Byung chul. "Yon?" Ha eun looked at him with disgust in her eyes. "Yeah?" Yon continued to avoid any eye contact. "It's true. Nari never bullied me once. It was always me who was asking for it but it doesn't matter for now. What matters is that you really crossed the line right now. I didn't expect this from you." And with this Ha eun left Yon all alone.

Yon wanted to apologize to Nari but it was as if she put on an invisible cloak or something, he couldn't spot her anywhere. He tried finding her but couldn't so he gave up and left for home thinking that he would meet up with her the next day. That night Yon had went to bed early and in his dream he saw a girl facing her back at him. She was trying to jump into the water but he quickly stopped her and said some words to her but in the end the girl still ended up jumping in and he also followed after her. Things felt blurry after that but after sometime he was out of the water and grasping for air. He looked beside him to see the same girl, Kim Nari.

Yon woke up feeling confused as he couldn't remember the girl's face anymore. He was sure that he recognized her while dreaming but now that he was awake he couldn't remember her face no matter how desperately he tried. He went to his college and again started looking for Nari and had finally found her alone near the vending machine. "Hey!" Yon said while tapping at her shoulder. Nari turned around and stared plainly at him. "About yesterday-" "If you came here to apologize then forget it. I already forgave you. So now don't show your disgusting face to me anymore." Nari left while harshly bumping on his shoulders.

Yon and Nari never spoke after that. During the summer break, Nari and Byung chul had left for jejudo island to visit Nari's grandma. Yon at the other hand constantly kept having flashbacks of a girl's face that he couldn't remember. Until one night he again dreamt of the same girl. This time he was confessing to her and then asking her to go on a date. This time he could clearly see her face. The way she smiled at him and the way she spoke with those gleaming and hopeful eyes. Yon woke up with tears streaming down his face. This time the face of the girl was clearly on his mind. "Kim Nari..."
