"What do you mean?" I asked going numb. I really wasn't feeling anything. I was certain she wasn't sharing my emotion this time because I did what I always did. Shut off my emotions. The more you feel, the more people find ways to hurt you. I can't believe I was starting to trust this girl I didn't even know existed until today.

"Please promise me that you will listen to me until the end."

"I dont think you have any right to expect anything from me right now Ms. Iris - I don't even know what your last name is," I said laughing humourlessly.

"Snyder. My full name is Iris Snyder" She said slowly as if that would explain everything.

I was going to ask her what it meant when suddenly I understood everything.

"You- you are - you are related to Noah Snyder?" I said slowly not wanting to believe it.

"Yes, Noah's my big brother," She said calmly.

It is enough for today. I can't take it anymore. First, the girl goes and tries to choke me, then Aiden, and now she says she is related to the moron who is responsible for all this. In all of my research, I never found out he even had a sister. All I know is after he contaminated the vaccine batch he was fired, later few humans took it in their hand to punish him so they killed him and his whole family which consisted of him, his brother, and his parents. There was never any mention of a sister.

"You are lying! He didn't have a sister. His whole family was killed"

"Why would i lie about such a thing? I am a pariah for both the species!" She shouted in anger.

I suddenly felt a high wave of rage and sadness. It was so heavy i was clutching my side because i wasn't able to breathe again. It was as if the emotions were drowning me in them. I tried very hard to breathe. I didn't understand what was happening. I tried to look at Iris. She looked like she was breathing heavy too. Her hands were shaking and she was looking at me with a weird expression. Her eyes had turned bluish-grey in color I almost couldn't see her irises. I would have laughed at the irony if I wasn't so scared right now. Suddenly I heard bones cracking and clothes being ripped and then there was a big grey wolf where Iris was standing.

Iris' blue eyes looked at me with an emotion I couldn't place. I stood up and we were stalking each other. I was scared and the emotions were still choking me. Suddenly Iris jumped on me but before she could reach me a big blur of white jumped on Iris and tackled her down. Iris got up as if the fall hadn't hurt at all. Given their unnatural ability to heal probably it didn't.

Now both the wolves were stalking each other. They were communicating with each other. The only reason I knew that because I felt different waves of emotion from rage to scared to sad to regret. All these emotions were confusing me. I was going to be sick with all this flow of unwanted emotions. Suddenly there was a loud piercing howl I clamped my palm on ears. Iris was whimpering and bowing to the bigger white wolf. I saw Iris slowly changing into a human. Then the other wolf looked at me. It was more beautiful than Irises wolf. It had golden eyes.

I know i sound like those ridiculous teenagers but this wolf was really beautiful. The moon rays reflecting from its fur made it look like silver. Iris came walking towards us completely naked. The wolf looked at her intently. For some reason, I didn't like that. I felt a wave of shyness wash through me. I knew these were Iris's feelings. I quickly removed the long stole that I had been wearing and wrapped her with it and she fell on the ground probably exhausted. I saw that the wolf was still looking at us intently.

"Umm, thank you for saving me and all that, but you are being a creep now. Have you never seen a naked girl before?" I said without thinking.

As if coming out of shock the white wolf ran out of there leaving both of us alone.

"I'm sorry," Iris said slowly.

I noticed that I wasn't feeling her emotions anymore.

"Yeah? For which part? For choking me to death again or going all wolf to kill me or like how I am hungry and you are starving me to death or just plain lying to me since we met"

She sighed. Probably thinking about how to explain all of this to me. If I were in her i would have given up on this mess already. She got up and walked to the rock and picked up something. That is when I saw a picnic basket sitting right there along with some cloths. She placed the basket on my lap and walked behind a tree probably to change.

"I open the basket to see there were a few sandwiches. I took a turkey sandwich and moaned at the delicious bite.

"Stop it! It's like you are making out with it" She said chuckling beside me.

"Oh shut it! I deserve it after almost being killed so many times in a day. There has to be record for these things" I said trying to make a joke.

"I really am sorry," She said again. I just waved at her letting it go. Too tired to be angry.

"So you knew this would happen? You came prepared?" I asked gesturing at the clothes and food.

"No, I think Nick bought it with him." She said smiling.

"Who is he? And did he know that you were going to kill me?"

"I wasn;t going to kill you. I can't kill you. I am your Socius remember."

"I don't know how things work in your world but being devoured by a wolf would certainly kill someone like me"

"We are bonded if I hurt you I hurt myself. See" Suddenly she pricked her palm with her fingernails to cut her self to bring out a little blood. I felt a sudden pain on my palm at the same place only there was no blood. I fisted my hand to stop the pain and just like that it went away.

"How did the guy know about this? Is he a psychic?"

"He is a Regilien. That means one of the higher ranks. They have different power. And he is very intuitive"

"So he is a psychic," I said concluding not caring about everything she told. Honestly, i couldn't bring myself to care about the lupins gibberish anymore.

"No, he is very intuitive." She said slowly as if i was a child.

"Exactly a psychic," I said eating my sandwich.

She sighed giving up.

"So you wouldn't kill me because you don't want to die?"

"No Vi. I have been dead for years. I have made my peace with it many years back. I am not scared of dying. I am afraid to live and the living"

"Umm... ohh kay! Not cryptic at all"

"Let me tell you a story," She said smiling.
