"Sorry for startling you." Kieran said in a low voice,  making no move to come closer.

Bryan straightened up, tugging his shirt down with a touch of shyness. "I-It's fine, why are you here?"

He couldn't believe he had forgotten to be upset with Kieran so soon, all Kieran had to do was breathe and he was ready to go back to being treated like a kid, if only it would keep Kieran's attention on him.

"Well someone stormed off in a fit, I had to check up on you." He said coolly, looking around Bryan's room.

Bryan rolled his eyes. "As you can see I'm fine, you don't have to worry." He said in a huff, flipping around again, his legs hanging off the edge of his bed.

Kieran bite back a smile, digging his teeth into the hard candy sticking out of his lips.

"Nice room." He complimented.

Bryan swung his head around with narrowed eyes. "Thanks, don't you have work to do?" He asked with a raised brow when Kieran still made no move to leave.

Kieran just shrugged, still not moving a muscle.

Bryan turned around on his face again, this time making up his mind to not look at the unreasonably handsome Head Beta.

He should do whatever he wanted, Bryan was going to get some sleep.

A few minutes passed like that, and he couldn't tell if Kieran was still standing at his doorway or if he had long gone.

The bed dipped on one side and Bryan flipped around so fast, only to find Kieran hovering over him, his piercing black eyes fixed on him.

"Kieran?" He called in confusion, hating the way he sounded breathless.

Kieran just undid his tie skilfully with a hand, placing a hand on the other side of the bed so that he caged Bryan in with both his arms.

Bryan's eyes went wide at this, his pupils dilating at the implications of what was happening.

Kieran leaned forward, moving closer so that their faces were merely inches apart.

Bryan's lips parted slightly in anticipation, his heart thudding painfully in his chest.

What was going on? Shouldn't he try to stop this? Wasn't this exactly what he wanted?

Kieran didn't stop there, moving even closer till their noses were brushing.

Bryan felt something push against his lips and before he could figure it out, he tasted the familiar sweetness of candy.

Kieran straightened up after pushing the stick of candy past his lip. "Come on, let's go eat lunch, I'll treat you today."

Bryan let Kieran pick him up from the bed, dazed at what had just happened, he didn't get his wits around him until he was following Kieran down the stairs.

He blinked, plucking the candy from his lips, he tried to ignore the fact that the same candy had been in Kieran's mouth.

"Where are we going?" He blurted out.

"To get lunch." Kieran said bluntly, striding across the foyer with quick steps and leaving Bryan to scurry after him.

Bryan worried if his brain had short circuited after the stinct that Kieran had pulled back in his bedroom, actually now that he thought about it, his brain was definitely fried.

Because he couldn't remember leaving his apartment or what happened before.

But other than that, was Kieran literally taking him out to eat?

What the hell was going on?

He caught up to Kieran, deciding not to ask too many questions and just play it by ear.

"Don't you have to be at the Pack House?" He asked skeptically when Kieran closed his door for him.

"Don't worry your little head about that, what we're doing right now is getting lunch." Kieran said dismissively.

Bryan watched him go around with narrowed eyes, he still couldn't guess what was going on in his head.

This was his first time being in Kieran's car and he should take this as progress of sorts.

He had spent months around him and had never even seen him eat.

He always made Bryan eat but Bryan could never get to do the same with him.

"Where are we going?" He asked after Kieran started the car, sitting stiffly inside the expensive vehicle.

Kieran glanced over at him. "A little quaint restaurant I really like but if you have anywhere else you want to go, I'll take you there."

Bryan winced, knowing that Kieran's definition of quaint was vastly different from the average.

"No, no, it's fine." He was quick to refute, he wasn't about to ruin what might just be a first date by choosing some fast food restaurant.

The journey started quietly, Bryan playing with the rips in his jeans to distract himself.

The air was tense around them and what made it even worse was that it was only him that seemed to feel it.

Kieran dragged his eyes from Bryan's legs for the third time, why were the movements so distracting?

"Did you finish up the scene you were working on?" He asked to fill up the space and to most importantly distract Bryan from toying with the rips in his jeans that showed flashes of his skin.

Bryan glanced outside the window, the truth was that he hadn't been able to concentrate all day and hadn't gotten even a sentence written down but he wasn't about to rat himself out.

"Um, yeah…" He said vaguely, unable to look Kieran in the eye.

He seemed convincing enough though because Kieran didn't push or ask any further questions.

Kieran kept his eyes on the road this time, he knew when Bryan was lying because he was such a terrible liar.

Why would he need to lie though? He had never scolded him for not getting work done.

He was out of his element with Bryan today in general, this was exactly why he wanted the pesky Head Warriors far from him.

He had no idea what they had said to him but he would make sure to introduce his fist to their jaws the next time they met.

Because now Bryan was asking questions Kieran himself had been trying to avoid, he glanced at Bryan from the side of his eye.

What exactly did he see him as?
