Bryan moved in when he predicted he would, the sun was just going down.
His mom had called just a little earlier to tell him that she had gotten to her apartment safely.
It would be weird waking up and not seeing her, he would adjust quickly though.
He had eaten a big lunch so he would be able to make some headway into arranging before he had to go eat dinner.
The moving men had been kind enough to place the boxes in his living room so he didn't have to go through the trouble of taking them in himself.
He would just start to unpack from the living room.
Bryan had taken a look around the apartment when he first got there, it truly had a single bedroom and it was more compact, a perfect substitute.
It would be strange because he had never not lived with his mom and sister.
Just as he got started on the first box, a knock on his door alerted him.
Bryan straightened up again with a frown, he wasn't expecting anyone and couldn't even guess who it could possibly be.
He waited a few endless seconds, hoping that perhaps the person at the door had made a mistake or he was just hearing things.
But then the knock came again and he made his way to the door swiftly to check who it could be.
He didn't even think to check the peephole or ask, there was nothing to be wary about, strangers never showed up at the Pack House.
If you were here it was because you were supposed to be.
But now he was starting to think that maybe he should have checked first because he swung open the door to his apartment to get a face full of Kieran.
Bryan froze up, staring up at the Head Beta with wide eyes.
Kieran was standing right in his doorway, dirty blond hair coiffed like he was just stepping out of a board meeting.
Crisp black shirt on with the expensive cufflinks that changed each day, compared to Bryan who had dressed in old jeans and some random t-shirt, it was a wide berth.
They were on different ends of the spectrum, vastly different from each other.
Bryan remembered that Kieran hadn't replied to his text, he had been too busy for the entire day to dwell on it but now…
"H-Hi Kieran." He muttered slightly nervously, breaking the silence. "I wasn't expecting you…" He trailed off, expecting Kieran to say something instead of just standing there staring at him.
"Can I come in?" Kieran asked quietly.
"Um… sure?" Bryan accepted, sounding quite unsure. He had been caught off guard by the request.
"It's a bit messy, you caught me at a bad time…" He started to explain nervously, gulping when Kieran closed the door gently behind him.
It was just the two of them in his apartment.
"You didn't tell me that you were moving." Kieran's voice came from behind him, far closer than Bryan had been expecting.
This made Bryan jump slightly, putting distance between them, Kieran unsettled him not to mention that he already felt self conscious from what happened the last time they were together.
"I planned to tell you on Monday, when I come over." He said shyly, twisting his hands.
He couldn't quite place his finger on it but Kieran sounded almost upset that he hadn't been told.
"Are you unpacking tonight?" Kieran asked, still in that strangely quiet voice.
He was always calm and unruffled but this time there were subtle undertones of something that Bryan couldn't quite place his finger on.
"Well, yeah, not all of it though." He quickly amended, feeling guilty for no reason.
"Alright." Was all Kieran said, walking over to a side table to take off his cufflinks, watch and rings to place them down on the table.
Bryan just watched on in confusion, unable to make sense of what Kieran was doing, it wasn't till the older man folded up his sleeves, took off his shoes and made a move to open a box that Bryan snapped out of it
"Kieran? Are you going to help me unpack?" He asked with wide eyes, blinking like he was trying to make sense of the situation himself.
"Yes." Kieran said bluntly. "Now tell me where things need to go so that we'll finish up quickly."
"But… but…" Bryan started to protest, hurrying over. "You have to drive back home tonight."
Kieran just shrugged. "That hardly seems like a complication, want to get started on these or not?" He raised a brow, gesturing at the pile of boxes around.
Bryan swallowed back the rest of his protest, he wasn't losing at all.
He would get to spend more time with Kieran and also get someone to help him out with unpacking.
"Yeah, thank you." He breathed, settling down to get started.
It was more than a little awkward when they first started, Kieran didn't fit in his tiny apartment, he hadn't even fit in his former apartment.
He didn't have a mental picture of where Kieran lived but everyone called it a mansion in the woods and that honestly was more than enough.
But he didn't stick out like a sore thumb even though he didn't fit in and with time, they got accustomed to working side by side.
Bryan decided that he would arrange his wardrobe the next day and after hours of nonstop working, he was pretty much settled in.
It was pretty late by then, a quick look at the time showed that it was well past ten pm.
"Oh no!" He murmured in dismay. "It's already so late…" He started to say but Kieran cut him off.
"Eaten dinner yet?" Kieran asked calmly, a stark contrast to Bryan's mini panic.
While unpacking, he had finger combed his hair till it was unruly and wild. It was a habit Bryan was coming to notice that Kieran did whenever he would be spending his entire time around him.
