Settling in

I walk in and sat down so did John I grabbed the hot cloth and dip it into the rubbing alcohol then sit back down

"Okay this is gonna,hurt okay?"

You say giving him a sympathetic look

He nods

You apply the cloth on a cut above his eyebrow

He whines in pain

You immediately remove it

"No it's okay I got this"

"Are you sure? I don't wanna hurt you"

"It's fine I can handle it"

You continue and he tenses up again

You peck his cheek

He immediately blushes

Then you quickly finish cleaning his cuts without him noticing

"Well your done"

He looks at you with a confused look

"Really!"

I stand up go to my bag and grab a nice teal nightgown with a robe

You leave the room do your night stuff and you come back to the room to see Laurens sitting there reading

"Scoot over because queen [y/n] has arrived"

He looks up and his mouth hangs open

"Laurens your staring"

We both giggle

"God it is rather hot for this robe"

You say taking of the robe revealing all of your bruises

"Jesus [y/n]!"

"The bruises yea, don't worry they'll go away soon"

You walk over to him and sit down on the bed

"Why would he do that?your his daughter so why hurt something so precious?"he asked concern and kind of mad you grabbed his hand and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze you look up into his hazel eyes and it was like you were seeing him in a whole different light

He started to lean in as do you

"May I?"

He says glancing between your eyes and lips

"Yes you ma.."

He cuts you off by kissing you

You kiss back the kiss is passionate he bring his hand up to your face as he and you pull away

"We should get to bed"

You say blushing he nods and lays down as you lay down next to him

"Good night Laurens"

"Goodnight monet"

He kisses the top of your head  then you drift off into sleep with Laurens cuddling your waist

*two weeks later*

"John! Come eat breakfast"

You hear him come down the stairs

He pecks your cheek

"Good morning"

He says grabbing the tea kettle off the stove

"Good morning!"

"Whats the plan for today?"

You put the bread on his plate along with the eggs

"Well i have work at the bar at 7 pm and I have to save up money for that ball but you know how women are treated so if I were to ask my boss for a raise in the money I earn I'm afraid to be fired!"

You sit down and start eating

"Well-"

John says with his mouth full

"Ah swallow the food then speak"

Ever since I moved in I've been teaching him basic manners

He swallows

"I could help maybe ask him for you?"

You look up

"You would do that?"

He nods take a big bite of bread

"Oh thank you! Thank you!" You get up a give him a quick peck on the cheek making him blush

You excuse yourself to get the mail your scanning through the mail and see a letter from Richard Monet you grab the mail and rush inside

You get in and close the door behind you sitting on the couch you rip open the mail

Dear y/n,

So I see you moved in with this John Laurens guy, you've only just met him he will break your heart and you will have nothing left so come home leave him if not I will hurt you and your precious John and we wouldn't want to see him in pain would we? I will give you three days to pack your stuff and come back I will not hesitate to hurt you y/n remember that.

You crumble the letter and throw it into the fire with tears streaming down your face you turn to see John sitting on the couch

"What was that y/n?"he gives you a concerning look while motioning for you to come sit next to him

"My- My father wants me to go back"I cried walking over to the couch As soon as I sit John engulfs me in a hug rubbing my back trying his best to soothe me I just let my tears run down and soak into his shirt

"I'm not gonna let him hurt or take you back ok?i promise"he whispers into my ear making me cry even more

We then move so that I'm laying on top of him and soon we fall asleep

*a few hours later*

I was putting on my work dress when John walked in on me putting on my corset

"John! You should've knocked!"

You say kinda mad and startled i was still scared of what my father was capable of but I had a job to do so I tried my best to push it away

"Sorry!"

He says shielding his eyes

You pull up the corset

"Well now that your here,tie up the back please?"

He Walks up to you and ties the back of your corset

"Thank you! Oh and can you walk me today"

He gives you a wide smile

"Yes I can!"

You guys left the house and started walking towards the bar that was only two streets away

"[y/n]?" John said nervously

"Yea?" You look up at him

" you look really nice today" he smiles

"Aww John!!"

You stop but he keeps on walking you run up to him grab him by his wrist pulling him into a alley

"[y/n]!!" He says laughing

"What?" You look up into his eyes

"You can't just pull me into a alley!" He says trying to catch his breath from laughing

You smile then pull him into a kiss

After a moment you pull away smiling

"You don't know how much you mean to me" he exclaims

"No! You don't know how much you mean to me you helped me through a lot when I was in a dark place you really don't know how much I needed you John Laurens" you start tearing up

He puts an arm around you and kisses your head

"Well your never gonna lose me" you guys walk out of the alley

And you bump into someone

"Hey watch out- oh laffayette!!"John laughs at laff

"Bonjour [y/n] and john Comment ça va?"

"Everything's fine me and John couldn't be happier!" You look up at John

"Well I'm gonna go I'll let you talk to him alone,Okay?" He nods and you guys give each other a quick peck on the lips then you walk away

~JOHNS POV~

"monsieur lafayette" laffeyette gives me a surprised look

"So you and the girl?" Laffeyette chuckles

"Yea! I love her but her father's trying to take her from me and harm her"I say looking at her walk away

"Harm her?"laffeyette asked in a questioning tone

"Her father abuses her laff"
