Nightmare

"Alex! Hey, don't leave me!", Stacy exclaimed, running behind Alexa who was intentionally walking faster.

When she finally stopped walking, Stacy was brought to a halt, breathing furiously. Alexa looked at her best friend. Stacy let out a big sigh before facing Alexa.

"Why did you leave me like that?", she asked.

"You said we were going to the movies", Alexa said, ignoring Stacy's question.

"We are", Stacy replied, looking down on her feet.

"Then why did you waste my time for shoes and some clothes? I thought we weren't going shopping?", Alexa was exhausted and it showed on her face.

"I'm sorry, okay? Let's go to the movies now", Stacy exclaimed and started walking.

"No, I'm going home", Alexa replied which made Stacy look back.

"Oh, okay. Do you wanna grab something to eat before going home?", Stacy offered.

"No, thank you", Alexa coldly responded.

Stacy was ashamed of what she did to her best friend, but she was also bothered about why Alexa was talking to that guy earlier. She didn't see Alexa returning the wallet, so she had assumed that Alexa and Kyle were friends. She wanted to ask Alexa so bad, but her best friend was silent the whole time until they got back to Alexa's home at exactly 10 o'clock in the morning.

Alexa goes straight to the kitchen and opens the refrigerator. She grabbed some macaroni salad that was left from yesterday's dessert. Silently eating on the dining table, Alexa ignores Stacy who was making herself comfortable in the living room.

After several minutes, Alexa had finished and went upstairs. Stacy was quick to follow her, but was also aware that her best friend was still in a bad mood because of her. Carrying the paper bags of the things she bought at the mall, she knocked three times on Alexa's door because her best friend had closed it before her.

"Alex look, I'm sorry, okay? I didn't mean to upset you. I was a fool to think that you were enjoying it as much as I was", Stacy said to the door, saying it loud enough for Alexa to hear.

The door suddenly opens and Alexa just stood there, staring down on her friend. She opens the door widely before proceeding to her study table. Stacy let herself in and placed the paper bags on the floor beside Alexa's bed.

"I thought you liked shopping. We always went shopping before, right?", Stacy continued talking.

"No, you like shopping. I actually just pretend to like it because it made you happy and I was glad to be with you while you're at it. But today is different, Stace. I was not in the mood. I thought you got that", Alexa explained.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner that shopping wasn't your thing?", Stacy asked.

"I guess I just waited for you to notice that I always go with you but never actually buy anything. Your sense of style is different from mine and it is so damn evident, Stace", Alexa replied, beginning to feel frustrated.

"Okay, fine. Let's not talk about this anymore, okay? I'm sorry", Stacy said. "But, about that guy you were talking to earlier, do the both of you know each other?"

"Why do you want to talk about that?", Alexa asked, confused by the sudden change of topic.

"Look, I just need you to answer my question", Stacy demanded.

"I am not doing this with you. Not today, Stacy. Please leave my room. I want to be alone", Alexa snapped.

"But, Saturday is bonding day, right?", Stacy tried to sound disappointed.

"I told you, I am not in the mood", Alexa replied.

Stacy got out of Alexa's room, completely forgetting about the paper bags. She went home and Alexa threw herself at the bed. Looking up into the ceiling, she thinks about how she's surrounded by people who are exact opposites of her. It made her feel inferior at times, but she also likes being near them sometimes.

Alexandria loves her family, but her mother is a little too pushy about getting her into the modelling industry. She couldn't even imagine herself wearing very revealing clothes and pose for the camera. It was a hard pass for her.

Today her mother left briefly before Stacy arrived. She was going to another photoshoot across town, maybe she was staying for the night, like she always does. It didn't bother her though, she was used to it.

Her dad, on the other hand, was busy at work. It was the usual setup for her and her family. She would always be left at home while they go and work their butts out, and she liked it. It gave her more peaceful time for reading her books, writing on her journal, or even hangout with Stacy.

Alexa was about to drift into dreamland when her phone beeped. She received a text from Stacy. It was a simple "Hey, I'm home" so Alexa replied with "Okay" and turned her cell phone off. She didn't want to be bothered by anybody.

As she finally got some sleep, Alexa realized she was dreaming about her and Stacy fighting. She knew it was a dream but she couldn't wake up. Struggling, sweat came rushing down her face as she tries her hardest to open her eyes. Stacy was throwing foul words at her and she was crying in her dream.

It seemed all real that the tears came out in real life. Alexa was crying in her sleep, unable to wake up from it. Luckily, Beth had come to her room to tell her it was lunch time. When Beth noticed what was happening, she grabbed Alexa's arms and shook her as hard as she could.

"Wake up, Beatrice. Wake up!", their oldest housemaid exclaimed.

Alexa woke up and directly sat upright, shouting the word "No". Beth was surprised, but relieved. Alexa told her that she would be down in a minute when Beth told her to come eat lunch.

As soon as she had left Alexa's room, Alexa grabbed her phone from the bedside table and turned it on to tell Stacy what happened. When the screen lit up, she immediately saw her best friend's text that was delivered an hour ago and it read, "He's my crush".
