In which Evelyn swoops in

I sat in bed, Alex had been very kind and brought me food. She proceeded to insist I eat all of it. But she was warm to me, and to be honest I felt like I was five again. She made me miss my own mother, though every time I thought of her pain spiked in my chest, my poor mother. Both daughters dead and no one else for her.

I sipped my soup, and felt a tiny bit better. Some of my worry faded away. I took a big gulp, feeling a rush of calm. Whatever was in this soup was the right stuff for me at the moment. I hesitantly stepped out of bed for the first time. I looked around myself, my room was small, really just the bed and some books. My limbs were very stiff, so were my wings. I stretched out, the tips of my wings brushed the walls. Maybe I'd go downstairs and join everyone. I owed an apology to Hera. I thought about her, she was right perhaps that she'd existed before me. I mean the whole situation was ridiculous, but was it possible that even if I was dead on earth that somehow I lived here? I shook my head, there was still a crazy person trying to kill me and Steve. And I certainly could feel pain here.

That was when I heard the scream. I dashed to the window and looked out. There were monsters literally everywhere, many were standing under a tree. On that tree something moved, I leaned so my nose brushed the glass, I could just make out Katrina and Jack. Oh no.

Below me the door opened and out stepped Hera. But she was really outnumbered, without thinking I punched the window. It shattered, but the glass didn't hurt me. I punched the second pane. Then I leapt.

I swooped over Hera's head, and I saw her jump a bit in surprise. I didn't stop till I reached the tree.

"Hold on guys," I yelled as I descended. Both children turned, Katrina broke into a smile.

"That was SO cool!" She said.

"Bring them to the house!" Hera yelled out to me.

"Okay I have to take you one at a time, Katrina you first," I wrapped my hands around her. Then turned to Jack, "I'll be back." He didn't really say anything, just stared.

I took off with Katrina, that was when the skeletons fired. I dodged the arrow flying. Till I reached Hera. I practically threw Katrina at her. Katrina waved from Hera's arms. I flew back to the tree, once again narrowly dodging the arrows.

"I'm going to take you now Jack," I said, I was surprised when he backed up.

"How do I know I can trust you, I know what you are." He said shakily.

"Because if you don't then your going to be a pin cushion."

He didn't move.

I sighed, "I know I'm an ender creature, but I was a human once, okay? I don't eat kids either. Happy?"

He nodded slightly, I grabbed onto him and took off. This time the arrows were even denser. I focused my powers to make a shield, but it was draining me. I was tired by the time I reached Hera.

"Steve take them to the basement now!" I cried.

"Bye Evelyn!" I heard Katrina shout.

Steve and Alex and the kids disappeared.

"So it's you and me versus this crowd." Hera said.

"I feel bad for them!" I smiled wickedly.

Hera met my smile, then lightly kissed my cheek. Thats when Penny arrived. She had her back to the monsters.

"I'm back, sorry that took waaaay to long, but I brought reinforcements!"

Hera raised her eyebrows.

"Meet Tyson!"

A boy appeared beside her. "Sup."

That was when the monsters let out a groan. Both spun around.

"Could of told me you guys had so much company," Tyson muttered.

"Is this all you could get?"

"Well Jenny was supposed to come too..."

Hera rolled her eyes.

"Don't worry," I said lightly, "I have some reinforcements of my own."

"Oh who?!" Penny said.

"Just don't freak out."

I screeched in ender. Instantly two appeared at my sides.

"I need you guys to get a few volunteers and guard this house."

They both disappeared.

"Woah, that was cool, who are you?" Tyson asked.

"Queen Evelyn, nice to meet you," I offered my hands.

"Guys.... The monsters!!" Penny cried. They were very close now.

"Time for some slicing?"

"Game on." I screamed.

I charged forward to meet the mob, I sliced my first zombie in half with a sword, using my wings I pounced on a spider. I looked over at Hera who sliced creepers right and left. Penny teleported among the mobs hitting them yelling "Take that, and that." Tyson mostly sat on the sidelines, occasionally cheering Penny on.

Then the enderman arrived. I had asked for volunteers, so either that didn't come across or they all volunteered. There was probably about fifty of them.

"DON'T ATTACK THE ENDERMAN!" I screamed to Penny. Then to the enderman I screeched, "Don't let any of the mobs near the house."

Between all of us the monsters dwindled down to almost nothing. Not even one had damaged the house yet. I looked back and that was when I saw Steve hiding around the corner in his armor. Hera hadn't seen him yet, not that he wanted her to. I was going to call out to him, except something crossed my vision.

Straight ahead was a figure, and a halo of blocks spun around them.
