"Well, I felt... maybe you wouldn't be too happy with me about it..." Sonja sighed, looking back at Sonic. "The truth is... other people that looked kind of like you have come through here before, so long ago. When those people saw that I was a ghost, they ran. They ran away from me. I've never seen them since."
Sonic's eyes softened, as a slight frown made its way across his mouth. "Sonja, I--- I'm so sorry." He didn't quite know what to do. He had JUST met her, so he wasn't quite comfortable enough with her to give her any sort of physical reassurement. But he knew she was in need. Something from him would really help her, considering how much she looked up to him. Even if he hardly knew her, she clearly knew him a lot. "Sonja... for what it's worth, I..." Sonja looked up at him with tears running down her face. She sniffled. Sonic put his hand on her shoulder. "Hey, hey, no tears, no tears... I would never be scared of you," Sonic assured her. "I don't mind that you're a ghost."
Sonja, looking at Sonic's gloved hand on her shoulder, smiled through her tears. She grabbed onto his hand and nodded, a newfound determination visible in her eyes as she looked into Sonic's. "Yeah..." She said, her voice high-pitched and raspy. She wiped away her tears with her arm.
