Chapter 11

The door slipped close, leaving the six Heroes alone together for the first time.

"I'm taking the farthest room." Orchid said quickly as they made their way to the hallway that led to the rooms, it was three rooms on each side.

"And I'll take the one opposite hers." Aster drawled.

"Then Daisy and I will take the remaining rooms on the right." Lily spoke up stiffly, arms crossed.

"And Poppy and I will do the same on the left." Eden concluded.

"Very good Sirs!" A servant appeared from nowhere, he was a tiny elderly man with a long white beard. "The servants will see that your luggages are placed appropriately." He bowed and clapped his hands, a flurry of Fairies appeared, luggages in their hands.

The Heroes were forced back into the living room to make way for the bustling servants.

The living room was done in warm colors of ochre and honey with splashes of pinks and reds here and there from the potted plants all around. It led to the dinning area which led to the kitchen and even though the Heroes weren't required to cook they still had the option to.

Sofas were arranged around a wide table and at the far corner big cushions were scattered all around a furry carpet, another fireplace in front of it.

Lily sprawled on one of the four sofas, they had to wait till the servants were done before they could freshen up.

Aster walked all the way to the fireplace and got comfortable on the furry rug, half of his body was on a mocha colored cushion, his long hair everywhere.

Orchid made a 'Tch' sound and walked around an empty sofa so she could sit down on the ground behind it and lean against the sofa.

Eden just quietly settled on the edge of a sofa closest to the nearest potted plant and she quietly started to manipulate the pretty pale pink flowers.

This left Daisy and Poppy standing around.

"W-Would you like to explore the house?" Poppy smiled shyly to the petite girl still standing beside her.

"O-Of c-course!" Daisy grinned, looking up at her with big, soulful, pink eyes.

"Awesome! Let's go!" Poppy grinned back, excited to make a new friend. She grabbed Daisy's hand out of reflex and giddily pulled him along, the Light Fairy didn't mind, happy as well to make a new friend.

Eden watched them go with a faint smile on her face, she knew she was too serious for her best friend sometimes, she was happy that she had met someone who could do the things she liked to do.

Shaking her head, she went back to what she was doing, controlling plants required more space to practice so she decided to practice manipulating them.

"What are you doing?" Lily asked, hovering over her.

Eden started, a little startled at his sudden appearance. "It's not nice to creep on people like that." She muttered darkly, unhappy that he managed to scare her.

"Sorry." He said shortly, still staring intently at the flowers which were lengthening and changing shape. "Will you tell me what you're doing now?"

"Fine." Eden bit out, still slightly irritated. "I'm manipulating the flower's form, it's one of my powers as a Forest Fairy." She explained succinctly, ignoring him to continue what she was doing.

"Are you the Fairy that was the last to manifest her abilities?" Li asked bluntly, falling on the space beside her, long legs thrown everywhere.

Eden grinded her jaw, that label made her beyond angry. "Funny that should be coming from the Fairy that manifested over a year ago but still can't do anything useful."

Lily shot up, fury blanketing his handsome face, he stared hard at her with pissed off hazel eyes. "You…"

Collective screaming interrupted his tirade and Orchid stood up in a flash, even Aster who was fast asleep sat up.

"What… what was that?" Eden asked.

"I have no ide…" The screams   came across again and they all took off in the direction of the ear shattering screams.

"I think it's coming from the back." Eden said, taking the lead.

"Shit! Daisy!" Lily muttered to himself, as they all ran to the back.

"What in the Fairy Queen's name…" Eden trailed off as she burst into the shed at the back and got a good look at what was going on inside.

"What the hell is that?" Lily yelled over the collective screaming of Daisy and Poppy who were hunkered together at the other end of the shed.

A huge spider was standing over them, it's legs waving vigorously.

"Help!!!" Poppy and Daisy screamed simultaneously, hugging each other on the ground.

Aster was the next to appear. "This better be good enough to be worthy of interrupting my nap." He yawned with sleepy eyes, one eye closed.

Orchid was the last to get there, panting slightly, for Fairies with working wings they sure could run fast and that was coming from her who walked more often than not to piss everyone off.

"Mira?" She exclaimed, stepping in front of Eden and Li who looked like they were about to attack her pet.

Aster rubbed his single open eye and stared blearily at the gigantic spider taking up most of the room in the shed. "I don't like spiders." He mumbled, scratching his neck, turning around to go back inside and continue his sleep.

"I'm deeply sorry Orchid." The spider spoke up in a resounding, feminine voice.

Collective gasps rang through the shed.

Aster stopped mid step and blinked, now wide awake, he stopped rubbing his eyes and turned around. "Who owns the talking spider?" He asked in a bored voice.

"It can talk?!" Eden exclaimed from her spot behind Orchid, Lily wasn't interested in all this, he just wanted to get Daisy out of there.

"Mira is my Helper." She stated coldly. "I don't own her."

"Then why is she trying to eat Daisy?" Lily asked, unamused with the entire situation.

"She's not trying… Ugh! Mira what in the name of the goddess is happening here?" She threw her hands up, red eyes flashing.

"They stumbled in while I was asleep on my web so I might have caught them off guard, I tried speaking to them but it only made the smaller child pass out so instead I tried to calm them down by showing I meant no harm but that obviously wasn't working either." Mira explained in a dry and amused voice.

Orchid just face palmed. "I'm sorry for this Mira, you can continue your nap."

The spider did a little bow with her many, tall legs and scrambled up the ceiling where she spun upside down and settled on a very thick web.

Poppy hurried to Eden's side while Daisy practically fell in Li's arms, shaking violently.

"I don't think she likes your pet." Eden noted dryly.

"She isn't a pet." Orchid muttered darkly, her bare skin showing through the rips in her tunic and pants was also red as her eyes.

They started out, the sun was setting already so that they had little time to get ready for dinner, Aster had already left a long time ago, uninterested in everything.
