Chapter 10

Emerson's POV

"Ms. Winget.. how's the progress with Renald's Cop.?"

"Sir they have accepted our proposal. I am sure they'll be here soon. They really appreciated our methods of business."

"And the other company..?"

"We are working on it."

"Mmm.. Fix an appointment with the Renald's. I would like to meet them as soon as possible."

"Yes sir."

We were discussing our work and I must say she is a very efficient PA I could have ever found. She takes care of almost all my work and always do what's been told to her without any mistake. I stay in her cabin more than my office and she doesn't mind it. We've now been good friends and are very comfortable with each other. But.. I know it's not just friends thing between us. I have to work on my plan.. Sam was right. Unless I'm hundred percent sure about her feelings I should not jump on conclusions.

"Ms Winget I wan-" my words were cut off by a knock on the door.

"Come in." I said.. it was Nia.

"I think I should stop looking for you in your office.. you are always here." she looked disappointed..

"I had work Nia.. why are you here?" I asked her. She sat on the couch without even looking at Jennifer who was also not very happy to see her.

"I am here to remind you about the States Charity Event tomorrow.."

She said.

"Oh yes.. how could I forget "

"I know you very well .. that's why I came here to remind you.. Hey Jennifer.. why don't you accompany us?" she said with a smile.

"I can't I am sorry.. there's only couple entry for the event." she said looking at me.. as much as I wanted her to be my partner.. I can't.. not so soon without knowing about her.

"Oh.. by the way whom are you going with Emy?" Nia asked looking at me.

I stayed quiet for a moment. I looked at Jennifer who still had a hope that I might chose her.

"Of course with you Nia..  who else?" I said in a low voice.. knowing that this would heart her. Jennifer gave a small smile.

"Of course I know. I always knew that no matter what... You will always chose me over anyone." she said smiling at Jennifer.

"Ms. Winget why don't you come with Sam.. it's just for the entry thing.. we will be there together when we are in.. " I asked her.

"It's okay Sir.. you both please enjoy.." she said getting back to work.

"Don't you have any boyfriend or something? Or did he left you? Actually there are many men of that kind these days.. they leave their women when they are bored. And-"

"Shut up Nia!" I said cutting her off.. it was too difficult to bring her back from almost depressed state and she again brought up that subject.

"What? I was just."

"Leave" I almost ordered her.

"Why?"

"Please go to my office. I'll meet you there."

"But-".

"Please Nia "

I asked her to leave but she stayed there.

"Excuse me" Jennifer said and left the cabin. God.. she must be so hurt.

"What the hell is wrong with you Nia?" she stared at me angrily then left too.

I sat on the couch rubbing my forehead

"These girls will be the death of me one day."

Jennifer's POV

I hate her. She is bad.

Not bad. She is worst . I don't care if it's rude to leave the place without your Boss's permission but I know I would have killed her if I had stayed there for another second. How dare she.

Congratulations Nia.. you won. You have won Emerson.. but that doesn't mean you can say anything to me.

Emerson has been calling me since then but I didn't felt like talking to him. I went home and asked the receptionist to inform Emerson that I've left. I just wanted to go home. I was driving back home when my eyes fell on the Central Park's entrance. The place where we used to meet to spend some time. I stopped and entered the park. I saw a bench there and sat on it. All the memories with him flashed in front my eyes. The moments we shared. The dreams I had for our future.. everything.

I saw a couple sitting on the opposite bench eating ice-cream. They looked happy. They even shared their ice-cream

That made me remember how we used to do the same when we came here. This was the same place where .. where he promised me that he will marry me. He promised me to stay with me forever. I didn't even realized that a tear drop fell from my eyes.

"Missing your boyfriend?"

I turned to see who was it

"Neil" I said with a smile. He smiled back and sat beside me on the bench.

"How are you Jennifer?" he asked

"Good " I said. He laughed.

"Your tears were saying something else."

"Just some past memories... Why are you here?" I asked him because he doesn't look like a person who will come at this place.

"Just some past memories.." he said and we both laughed.

We started talking about usual things. He is so sweet and down to earth person that it never felt that it's just the second time we are meeting.

We were talking when his phone rang disturbing our conversation.

"Please excuse me" he said before taking the call and I just nodded.

"Hello... Yes dad..

Oh. I forgot.

I will . Yeah sure . Okay . Love you Dad"

He cut the call and sighed.

"Sorry for that . My dad is literally forcing me to go for shopping right now for the event and me.. I don't know how to chose suits."

"Event?" I asked.

"Yeah.. the Charity event thing." he said.

"Oh. You are also going there? " I asked

"Also? You too are going?" he asked curiously

"umm.. no.. actually Emerson.. I mean my boss is going."

"Emerson. You mean Emerson Hemsworth? Oh. He's a good friend of mine. You're his PA? Nice"

"Yeah. He is going with his partner. I didn't had any so.."

"Who said you don't have any" he said with a huge smile.

"What do you mean?" I asked him.

He came forward to me and offered me his hand.

"Would you like to be my partner for the event?" his voice was so sweet and innocent.

"No.. I mean I don't want to go there. In fact I'm not very fond of events an all." I said getting up.

"Even I'm not. But if you accompany me.. I'm sure I'll be able to survive." I laughed at him.

"I'm sorry but no..I don't even have a dress for the event." I tried to reason

"That's even much better. I was going for shopping anyway. We'll buy together "

"But Neil.."

"Please???????" he asked folding his hands

"Okay.. now please stop acting." he smiled and we left the place. As I had brought my own car so he asked me to follow him.

We reached a very expensive mall. I have never been very comfortable shopping in such malls.. no. Money has never been a problem. But these places never attract me.

We parked our care in the parking lot and he helped me coming out.

"Not a fan of expensive places?" he asked.

"How did you know?" I asked him

"Because if I would have brought some other woman then she would have been jumping with excitement and giving me tons of kisses."

I laughed and he smiled.

"Come" he said, held my hand in his and pulled me inside. I remembered the moment when Emerson held my hand when he carried me to the cafe after we he got his first deal. That touch gave me chills . That touch felt like... Home.

"You zoned out " I saw Neil shaking me and smiling.

"Umm.. no.. let's go." I said smiling.

"Can I request you something? " he asked

"Yea sure"

"Will you please help me in buying a suit. I don't know how to chose seriously."

"Ofcourse.. but only if you help me with my dress. I'm myself not a great shopper. " he laughed.

We decided to go for his suit first.

When we entered the Men's Suit section all the staff present there greeted us with a huge smile.

"Good evening Mr. Anderson" everyone greeted him and he just nodded in return.

"How do they know you?" I asked him.

He looked at me

"Because I own this mall."

What.!!!! I'm shocked.

"Who are you Neil Anderson?" I said placing my hands on my waist and demanding the answer.

"CEO of 'Andersons and Sons'"

He said simply.

"You.. you are the CEO of Anderson's.. you have your restaurants and malls and hotels all over world.???" I asked with a shock.

"Ummm.. yeah.. why are you shocked?" he asked me while going through the suits.

"You didn't looked like a CEO.. I mean you are very... Normal.." I said and he started laughing

"Why.. is your CEO abnormal?" he laughed

"No.. forget it.. let's do what we are here for." I said going through the suits there. The staff was still near us making me awkward.

"I'm confused between these two" he said showing me two suits. One was navy blue with black inner shirt and black tie and the other was a black tuxedo.

"I love the black one more." I said after thinking for some time.

"Really? Even I liked that more." he said and went to one of the staff members.

"Please pack this." he gave it to him and pulled me out.

I was about to ask him why he didn't pay but then remembered that he is the owner..

"Now" he said looking at me.

"Its time to find a perfect dress for you." he said and smiled and I did the same
