My Mother’s Touch

Jace's POV

I can't believe Thomas White could be this heartless, if he wasn't only Mira's father and my Dad's friend I could have punched him in the face. I walked away from Mira's hospital room, and I was still shivering with fury, how could he fire me when I saved his daughter from the kidnappers? I release my rage when I reached the parking lot of the hospital by punching the hood of my car; it was his car anyway. I go through the excruciating anguish of my knuckles after hitting the car and I can feel the blood flow on my hands.

I don't care about the pain I felt in my fists when I glance at the dent I created, I can't stop myself from laughing; I leaned against the car and I looked up at the hospital building thinking about my girlfriend. I miss her already, and I want to look at her lovely face, but her father made it hard for me. Thomas told me to trust him, I don't know what he means maybe it had a deeper meaning that I can't quite comprehend.
