Ventral Pontine Syndrome

NICK POV

Every step that he takes is more painful than the previous one. But it is as if he has a block between the pain that he feels and the need to get you to a hospital. He walks as fast as he can to get out of the forest.

He finally gets to the end of the forest but before him still lies a vast field that he needs to cross to get to the road. He will not lie to himself but it is true that he does not want to walk that field. But then he gives you one look in his arms and he knows he needs to do this for you. He takes a deep breath and then starts walking again.

"You just hold on for me, doc. Please, just hold on"

At last, he has reached the road but still, he does not have a ride to take you to the hospital so he puts you softly down on the grass, and then he stands in the middle of the road like a mad man. This is a small town, someone will stop for him.
