Chapter 5: "Please stay."

"Ma, I have absolutely nothing to wear, Kayla will be here in fifteen minutes!" I exclaim as i pace up and down

"How about this black dress?" Ma asks referring to a tight plain short black dress.

"Ma, that's not even a choice, I'm doomed!"

"Well, what do we have here?" She asks referring to a perfect off the shoulder navy dress.

"Mum bought it for me last year, I've never worn it before, it's probably too small."

"Nonsense!, try it on."

I take the dress and walk into the bathroom, I try it on and it fits perfectly. I look into the mirror and smile at my reflection as the dress hugs my body slightly. Ma walks in and smiles

"Beautiful, just like your mother. "

"Thanks ma." I say as i squeeze her into a hug

She leaves the room saying she'll be waiting downstairs.

I put on some silver heels and straighten out my hair, apply some lipgloss and mascara and walk downstairs

"Im ready ma."

She looks at me for a moment, taking me in but gets interrupted by the door bell.

I walk over to the door and open it, standing there is beautiful Kayla, Wearing a short red dress, black sparkly heels, her blonde hair slightly curled as they fall down her shoulders.

She pulls me in for a hug

"You look gorgeous!"

"Thank you, but look at you, you look beautiful!" I reply

"Pfft, I try. Anyways we have to leave."

"Yes of course, its just, I'd like to introduce you to my grandmother. "

She nods as she steps closer into the living room

"So you're the beautiful Kayla, Elle can't seem to stop talking about, it's a pleasure to finally meet you." ma says as she pulls her in for a hug

"Likewise." Kayla replies sweetly

"Well off with you too, have fun, Elle don't stay out too late, bye now!" Ma exclaims as she pushes us out by the door

"She's wonderful. " Kayla says as we walk towards her car,

As we get closer i realize someone sitting in the driver's seat, Zach?

Kayla gets into the passenger seat, and i get in the back. I glance at Zach, his hair messy but beautiful, he's dressed casually; a white pair of jordans, black skinny jeans, a grey t-shirt with a black leather jacket over.

"What took you so long?" Zach asks in a annoyed tone completely ignoring me

"Just drive."

The drive is silent until Zach speaks again

"So your parents are okay with you coming to this party?" Zach asks looking at me through the rearview mirror

"Yeah, her grandmother's cool with it." Kayla answers for me

He nods and continues driving until we arrive at our destination, which is a lounging spot.

"I thought it was a house party?" I ask confused

"Yeah the venue got changed last minute due to too many people attending the party, so Max had to book this place for the night. "

Wow, he must be loaded if he can just book places like this for stupid teenage parties

"Let's go!" Kayla shouts enthusiastically and jumps out

We walk into the crowded room, the music loud enough to give you ear damage, sweaty bodies swaying along the music, couples making out, sucking each others faces off.

"Come lets go upstairs." Kayla says as she takes my hand and leads me up the stairs. Zach seemed to disappear. She leads me to a sitting area where a girl and boy our age are seated.

"Hi!" Kayla says to them

"Who's the pretty girl?" The boy asks, he has blonde hair and blue eyes, a mischievous smirk on his face

"Max this is Elle, Elle this is Max, oh and this is Stacy." She points to the girl besides Max, she has short blonde ombre hair, and green eyes.

"Hi." I say smiling at Max, then look over to Stacy as she rolls her eyes, she seems nice?...

"Where's Zach?" She asks annoyed

Kayla ignores her and turns her head to me

"Do you want a drink?"

"No thanks, i dont dri-"

"Hi baby!"

I get interrupted by Zach as he walks over to sit down next to Stacy, her hands immediately go around his neck, as she kisses him. EWWWWW

"How about a game then?"

Kayla asks annoyed and Zach breaks his make out session with Stacy.

"I call spin the bottle!" Max shouts in excitement

I shake my head

"What's wrong?, scared to play?" Zach asks in amusement, a sly grin on his face as he looks at me

"Let play." I say ignoring him

Max spins the bottle, eventually its stops on Kayla "Truth or da-"

"Darrre!" Kayla shouts

Max chuckles before speaking

"I dare you to chug those bottles of beer."

He points towards the refrigerator that has three bottles of beer remaining

Kayla gets up, walk over and grabs the bottles before chugging them down.

Kayla has a whole crowd cheering her on

"Chug, chug, chug, chug!"

When she returns she sits down beside me again

"That was SICK!" Max exclaims

Kayla grins and spins the bottle until it stops on Stacy

"Truth or dare?"

"Dare." Stacy replies bravely

"I dare you to makeout with Max." Kayla says calmly

Stacy moves her face to Max, she pulls him into her and makes out with him

Zach gives a snort of disgust.

Stacy hears this and stops, moving back to her seat.

The game goes on until it's Zach's turn to ask me.

"Truth or dare?" He asks me

"Truth."

"Booo!" Stacy says as she rolls her eyes.

Bitch.

"Where are your parents?" Zach asks

Everyone looks at him in confusion at his dumb question. He could literally ask anything but he chooses to ask this.

"Dare." I say bravely trying to avoid the question about my parents, not wanting him to see the pain in my eyes

"I dare you to kiss me."

What? He wants to kiss me? Is this a game? Well technically it is but... fuck!

He stands up and so do I, i walk over to him and look up into his eyes, damn those hazel eyes, he looks into my eyes as though he's searching for something, he then turns his gaze to my lips, he leans down but then freezes at the words that comes out of my mouth

"I don't want to." I say boldly

And with that i sit down again, leaving everyone in shock, everyone except kayla, she just starts laughing.

I smile at her.

"I like her, she's badass." Max says

"Well, thank you." I say confidently

After a while we stop playing, and just chill

Kayla beside me passed out, and Zach drinking away, Stacy and Max on their phones.

I check my phone to check the time, its currently 10:30

"Zach?"

"Mhm?"

"We should get going." I say.

i dont want ma being worried about me.

Zach gets up but loses his balance and falls down back into his seat.

"Max?, do you think you can give me a hand?" I ask

He nods as he helps Zach up, and walks him out, I lift Kayla, putting her arms on my shoulder, and my hands around her waist.

I lay her down in the back seat, and Zach walks over to get into the driver seat

"Are you trying to get us killed?" I ask

"huh?" He asks in confusion

"You can't drive, give me your keys." He hesitantly hands it over and gets into the passenger seat.

I turn to max

"Thanks."

"No problem." He replies

I nod and get into the car, starting the engine.

"Address?" I ask Zach

"Why? So you can stalk me?"

"No, so that I can get you guys safely home."

Duh.

"What about you?"

"I'll get an uber." I say

He sighs then gives me their address. The ride is quiet and still until Zach talks again

"Have I ever told you how beautiful your eyes are?"

I ignore him knowing that he's drunk and that he doesn't mean anything he's saying

"They are like diamonds, whenever i look into them, time seems to stop and all the pain goes away." He talks in a soft voice

Pain? I shake my head at the thought and pull into their driveway. They have a beautiful double story house, white coated walls, a beautiful garden, beautiful outdoor furniture. Everything is beautiful and interesting. Must have cost a fortune.

"Are your parents home?" I ask him

"No They left for the weekend. Business trip."

Thank god i cant imagine how they'd react if they saw the state Zach and kayla were in. Drunk and wasted.

After struggling to get the two into the house, I lay Kayla down on her bed, taking her shoes off and gently covering her with a blanket. I take in her beautiful room, positive quotes on the wall, her dressing table has pictures on it of her and Zach when they were younger. On her desk sits her MacBook and some notebooks. I walk out not wanting to pry any further.

I then walk into Zach's room, to my surprise its not messy at all, his bed is made up, his shoes are all packed neatly into a shelf, his desk is neat and organized.

"There's nothing here to steal."

I turn around to see Zach in joggers, his chest bare, I stare at his defined abs, I stop myself and look down.

"Are you done checking me out?" He asks in between a chuckle

I roll my eyes

"Actually i just wanted to give your keys back. Goodnight Zach."

I place the car keys on his bed and turn to walk out his room

But he pulls me back, grabbing my wrist, he caresses my cheek and puts a strand of hair behind my ear with his other hand, he slowly brings his mouth to my ear.

A feeling of sensation goes through me as his skin touches mine.

"Please stay." He says in a soft voice

I hesitate at first but eventually agree, I lie down beside him, I'll stay here until he falls asleep then ill leave. He pulls me closer into him, the world seems so peaceful here in his arms, my eyes become heavy and i close them as i fall asleep in his embrace.

"Goodnight diamond." he whispers
