Chapter 3: Angelic Con Artist

The first to step forward was an asian businesswoman who looked like she was a big business boss, "Hello everyone I'm Lee Kwan, an executive of Hotels Inc. Before I start asking questions, I would like to test something. Right now I'm speaking Korean and I speculate that not everyone is using the same language as me."

This observation didn't cause too big of a commotion because most people had already realized this as they looked around at the various clothes and races that differed from the style or ethnic group of their country. Seeing that her speculation was true, Lee Kwan continued," So now my question is that we obviously sent here for a purpose. I want to ask what are we going to do now that we are here?"

Hearing this question, Max already knew that a vague, yet intimidating answer would follow.

"To be honest there's only one thing that needs to be done here at our glorious Vilonce", 412 suddenly showed his shiny white teeth, "We need you to - SURVIVE. Now survive against what exactly? You'll figure it out later. Now how to survive, I'll introduce you to something. Say [Status]"

[Max White]

-Level: 1

-Title: N/A

-General Skills: N/A

-Talents: N/A

-Stats:

Strength: 7

Dexterity: 12

Intelligence: 11

Defense: 8

Vitality 10

Spirit: 5

Note: 10 points is the average for the level of human adults. Most men will lean towards strength and most women will lean towards dexterity. Vitality is set to start at 10 points and Spirit is set to start at 5 points.

Looking at his familiar starting stats, Max couldn't help but sigh at the fact that he wasted such good starting stats on a bogus martial spirit in the past. Speaking of martial spirits, you get to make one per trial when you prestige up. As far as Max knew, after the tutorial there are 5 more trials that increase in difficulty as you prestige up. So in total there are 6 martial spirits that you can make.

When the crowd heard this, they immediately thought this experience would be like a game, relieving them a bit as they found familiarity. As soon as they discussed this concept, 412 immediately continued, "Now I assume you think this will be like a game, but that isn't completely true. It's much more dangerous and much more complicated. For example, getting equipment and weapons is only the 4th priority in this tutorial."

He continued, "I guess God wanted to combine the Western and Eastern cultures of your world so he gave you to power points. One is the idea of general skill books, which are very important for survival. These have a low chance of being dropped by hunted monsters or can be traded with the system shop."

Everyone already understood the basics of [Status] and [Shop], so they weren't surprised when the guide talked about the system shop.

"As for martial spirits", he continued," They are easy, yet hard to get at the same time. They're tens of thousands of ingredients to make your martial spirit with, with thousands of martial spirits to create. You will start the tutorial with 100 coins each and be allowed to purchase the materials of your choosing. The problem is a lot of them are junk, but don't worry because the shop sells recipes. Each martial spirit gives different talents to the beholder, but don't worry about it so much."

This is where the guide is quite insidious. He didn't say anything about leveling up because it is inferred everyone already knows about the leveling up system. Leveling up is one of the most important factors of power because besides special props, it's the only way to increase basic stats. He also explained the relevance of martial spirits, which he is required to by the system, but downplayed the importance of them. They are really the foundation for a person's power. Max knew that with this explanation, most people would look for general skill books.

He is also technically correct when he said that weapons and equipment are the 4th priority. It sounds like he explained clearly, but no one besides the guide and Max know the order of top 3 priorities. Martial spirits can be created before entering the tutorial area. Almost no one does that though because they don't want to risk it. Most people will wait to see if there are some good leaked recipes, then spend money on the ingredients that are harder to get. Some brave people will spend all of 100 coins on a top notch recipe and search for the ingredients themselves. There are many different strategies at the start, but only a little will survive in the end.

412 said, "Now that the explanation is done I'll give you ten minutes to discuss plans within your little groups and then we will embark on our journey to nirvana."
