Chapter 3

I kept up my work on the time-machine version two. But, even an immortal like me gets tired, and that's what happened after several hours straight of working. I was also really hungry. It was probably past dinner by then, and I hadn't had any food all day. Just enough water every now and then to keep me focused and hydrated. So, I finally told myself to stop and go get some food. And go to bed. I teleported into the kitchen and grabbed some chicken, potatoes, watermelon, a few berries, some cookies, and a steak.

I then teleported to the dining room with my 'feast' and sat down at the head of the table and laid all the food out in front of me. I then proceeded in shoving my face with food, going between sweet and salty bites. I didn't even look up until I heard a little movement around me. I snapped my head up to look down the table and see all three children staring at me wide-eyed as if watching a dragon spitting rainbows instead of fire.

"What?! I have a stomach too." I grunted with some food still in my mouth.

"Urm, Herobrine. Where have you been all day?" Madelyn asked, probably noticing my outfit covered in soot and grease.

"I saw Herobwine today. He had a lab. I bwoke his shiny gem dou." Teddy said with his volume fluctuating from excited to a quiet sorry mumble.

"It's alright Teddy. Evie said she would help me find a new one." I said, showing a face that said that I didn't really want to talk much more, so no one asked who Evie was.

"What have you been doing in that secret lab of yours Herobrine?" Sebastian asked with suspicion written all over him.

"Something I have been wanting to build for a long time. Just never had the guts until you three showed up." I said truthfully but without exactly answering. Sebastian snickered quietly.

"You? *chuckles* not having guts?! What kind of crazy invention would make even you scared of it?!" He laughed a little.

"It isn't that I am scared, it's just a hard thing to make possible. Many people even call it impossible." I sighed/huffed.

"Like what, time travel?!" Sebastian laughed. I just kept the same expression on my face. He had no idea that he was correct.

"..Alright, so now how long are you three planning on staying here?" I asked the kids. They all just looked at each other as if talking with their minds. Siblings tend to be able to talk just with their faces, pretty fascinating. Luckily I had taught myself at a young age to read faces and body language, so sometimes it seemed as if I really could read minds. I was even able to fool many into believing I could read their minds, which just made it easier for me to get information from them because if they think I can read their minds, they see it pointless to try to keep secrets.

I could tell Sebastian wanted to leave, in a way he wanted to stay, but more so he could keep an eye on the secret project I was working on. Madelyn didn't exactly understand why her brother had changed his mind, but she herself looked like she was enjoying my castle. And Teddy just gave both of them a pleading look to stay.

"Oh can we stay pwease!?" Teddy broke the silence with a plead. I was a little surprised he still wanted to stay even after seeing me literally on fire earlier with anger. Maybe he just forgot, or was quick to forgive.

"Uhg, sure." Sebastian gave in. But it was acted a bit to try and fool me that he didn't have other reasons to stay. I just decided to let his little secret stay with him.

"Okay, I don't really care. Just make sure to follow Fred's instructions. I told him to make sure you three don't get hurt, so if he says to not go somewhere, that means it is because it's a trap set for anyone who tries to break in." I told all of them, because I knew just about every child would wonder why someone would tell them not to go somewhere. I didn't really have any secret treasures I was hiding anyway. All three nodded a 'yes sir' and continued eating their supper I had interrupted. I finished eating my pile of food before them, finishing with the cookies, and teleported into my room for some sleep.

"There you are Lord Herobrine!" Fred said from behind me once I teleported into my room near the foot of my bed. I jumped in surprise and was attacked by some clothes thrown in my face. I jumped at that too until I realized it wasn't a spider and held the cloth in my hands.

"What the heck is this?!" I shouted before realizing it was the usual cyan shirt I wore.

"Honestly Lord Herobrine, you are a mess! I am surprised you have lived this long just going between your one pair of pajamas and your one pair of day clothes this long! I am going to leave the room and I want you to change into your day clothes. When you are done, give me the pjs to be washed. At least your day outfit is clean!" Fred said with sternness I was certainly not used to. I just looked at him shocked while comprehending his words. Then I smiled and even chuckled a little.

"Geez Fred, you don't have to mother me." I chuckled. Fred then snapped out of his state and cowered back a bit looking a little embarrassed.

"S- sorry Lord Herobrine. I guess I just spent too much time around Teddy." He chuckled a little at the last part bashfully.

"Heh, no it's alright. I kinda needed it. I guess my clothes really are a mess!" I acknowledged. Then Fred teleported out of my room and I made a quick change into my day clothes. Funny how I was now sleeping in my day clothes while my pajamas had been used as day clothes for the past couple of days. But again, they looked exactly the same, just my pajamas were softer than my day clothes.

All tired and just wanting to pass out already, I tossed my dirty PJs out the door not caring about where they landed and waddled my way over to my bed. I plopped down on the soft bed and fell asleep before I could even crawl under the blankets.
