Liza: Mystery Girl

Liza : 16 years

Location : London

I slowly open my eyes and look around. I was in someone else's bedroom. There's a half naked girl lying next to me. I try my best to recall what happened the other night.

The last thing I remember was drinking a bottle of beer and what happened after that seemed like a mystery. I try to sneak out of the bed, quietly, making making sure she I didn't wake her. I remove the bed covers and that's when I noticed it, my top was missing.

WHERE ARE MY CLOTHES ?

My body went into panic mode and I begin to shiver. I desperately try to cover myself using the bed covers.

Phone rings.

🎶Somebody wants you

Somebody needs you

Somebody dreams about you every single night

Somebody can't breathe, without you it's lonely

Somebody hopes that one day you will see

That somebody's me🎶

It was Jessica on the phone.

"Jess are you alright?" I ask her frantically.

"Yeah, I'm home. Did you reach home safely yesterday?".

"I don't know where I am. I think, I'm still at that party house." I answer her trying to cover my nakedness with the pink bed covers.

"What the hell? Are you okay, Liza?" Jessica asks in a concerned tone.

"Hey, stop the blabbering. I'm trying to sleep over here." says the mystery girl, half asleep, putting her arms around my waist, pulling me towards her.

"Liza get out of there now. I'll come get you." yells Jessica.

I push the girls hands away and get out of the bed covers and look for my clothes. I couldn't find them anywhere. Finally I find a black top beneath the bed covers. The girl was lying on top of it. I try my best to pull it.

" What the hell are you doing?? I'm trying to sleep here!!" shouts the girl pulling me by my hand.

I fall on top of her. Our bodies touch and I lock eyes with her. The first thing I noticed was her eyes. It resembled that of Joan's.

"Hey!! Let me go!!". I tell her trying to pull away from her embrace.

" No...go to sleep Liz". She says wrapping her arms around my waist hugging me even tighter.

How did she know my name? Did I tell it to her?

My body began to quiver and I try my best to pull away but I couldn't. I finally give up and lie frozen on top of her, my ears against her chest, loosing myself to the tranqualizing sound of her heart beats and wait for her to fall asleep.

I don't know why but I felt a sense of security when she embraced me in her soft arms. I could feel the heat of her skin against mine. It felt good and calming.

I examine her face. Beautiful thick brows, fair skin, pink lips, straight nose, curved long eye lashes, chubby cheeks, defined jawline. Somehow, she reminded me of Joan. I reach out and cup her face with my hands. I see her smile like a new born baby. Tears begin to drip from my eyes. Something in my heart kept whispering not to let this girl go. To grab hold onto her.

Once she fell asleep, I pull the top slowly from beneath the covers and run out of the room.

The house was covered in beer bottles, cups and glitter. Some boys lay asleep on floor, wasted. I walk past them, silently, like a cat, making sure I made no unnecessary noise and wait for Jessica to arrive.
