Chapter 3

Five months went pass like a slow snail race and in that space of time, the people around him labelled him as an 'unusual' kind of kitten. They gave him little nicknames such as 'The Rebel Kitten','The Small Guard' and many more, but he had one true name, Kenji. The name was given by the owner because he believed he would kill it in the auction.

As for Kenji, he was cautious around everyone and was observant of most thing. For instance, every time the manager of the auction house would come in the room he would be a little relaxed and smile. With the wall he created around him, most people would believe he was a lone wolf (or cat in his case). Well, that's wrong! Currently, two wrecking balls that live under the same roof as him, existed. Those occurred to be the youngest sibling and his mother.

If anyone other than them (even his other five siblings) we're to come close, therefore they will be assaulted mercilessly. But for some reason, Kenji couldn't help it. His instinct told him to ease up around only with them two. It was like he yearned for his mother's touch for years while he just wanted to protect his youngest brother. This made everything else look a threat towards him.

Currently, he was taking a nap all by himself in the afternoon while everyone else was playing."Big brother!" A familiar voice shouted without having any fear of the feline. As he heard his name being called out, Kenji's ears were twitching while opening his eyes to see the person calling him. The first he was met upon was bright green eyes staring into his dark blue ones. A cat that had the same fur that had the fur as him, but lighter. As usual, it was the youngest sibling of them all that had the guts to wake him up.

"What, Ren?" He asked his younger sibling with a little sigh, giving a gloomy attitude.

"Mama wants you," Ren said happily contrasting his older brother's mood. With that being all he wanted to say, he went back to his other siblings.

When his mother wanted to talk to him, that either means either one of three things that involve him. With an unpleasant sigh, he stood up and stretched his body and made his way to his mother. While walking to her, there had been a cluster of whisper that he usually dismissed.

"Don't you think that older brother is Weird?" One of them questioned their other siblings.

With a quick response, they all shouted "No!!!"

"If anything, he is cool." Somebody gushed.

"Especially when he goes against Mama when she's angry."

"Speaking of Mama, do you think she's gonna finally be able to convince him to play with us?"

After that was asked, the silence was introduced to the discussion."I hope so. It would seem some much more fun"

That was the last thing Kenji heard before he reached the other side of the room and met his mother's back turned towards him. Her ears twitched a little and turned around so Kenji could see her face.

"Well if it isn't my little oddball." She declared with happiness covered in her golden eyes at him.

"Mother." He greeted her back.

At this, she sighed and clicks with clear displeasure laced into it."So formal at such a young age. Why don't you call me Mama like everyone else?"

At this, his eyes narrowed into a glare. With a little hiss, he spoke up, "Never."

"Ouchie Mama is hurt." She said childishly hoping to cause a little panic in her oldest son. Not seeing any change of emotion, she carried on."Well at least play with your supplementary sibling than just seep every day. How do you not get bored."

"Never." He let out once again and with that, he walked away nothing to say.

"Why?" He stopped and thought about it. Why? Why was he avoiding everyone (except his mother and younger brother) around him as if they were the plague? What was the reason? It just felt right as if his guts were telling him to do it.

"Instinct, I guess?" He said as he turned around to face his mother with a look she never expected to see. With a long stare, his mother gave him she finally sighed tried and looked away in defeat.

"Fine, you win."

As she started to walk away from, she heard him call her out."By the way, " She looked back up again to see her son stare at her."I love you."

"Who's dying today?"

"No one." He's just leaving today and with that, he strolled away from her. Once again as he went back to his previous position he could feel stares burning onto his body.

"What did you say to Mama?" Kenji whipped his head around to see Ren looking at him.

"Nothing."

"I don't think this nothing. Mama starting at you as if she saw a ghost. Look."He spoke while pointing his head their head towards their mother's direction. True to his younger brother's word she looked frozen.

" I said three magical words." He said while he kept on staring at her. His brother was also doing the same, but thinking about what he could have said.

"May I please?" He guessed.

"No." Was the response he received.

"Then what?" There wasn't much his older brother would say that involved with the word that held any emotion or mannerism to it.

His brother turned right into his face and said, "I love you."

Moments like these made his body freeze. Never would he imagine that he want him to replay all over again. Just now his brother mentioned a word that held emotion in it, a strong one that, he knew smelled fishy when his mother froze.

"Is something wrong?" He asked worriedly.

"Nothing." Was the only reply he got out of those iron gripped mouth. There was something really not right.
