Longinus' Limits

Hearing the voice that hinted at anger, everyone turned their heads to look.

Slit eyes, waved ears, a hexagonal head, and all the inharmonious features pieced together to form a frighteningly disfigured face.

It's ugly and nasty.

If Kizaru's nastiness comes from within, then Tokikake's nastiness is a masterpiece of appearance.

Perhaps that was why he didn't have many people following him around, even when it had been rumored that he was the strongest newcomer.

Of course, that doesn't stop him from being powerful.

Even though Tokikake lost at the hands of Gion because he underestimated his enemies, there are still many who believe that he is indeed the strongest.

As everyone was well aware, Zoan was the devil fruit with the most significant increase in the early stages, and Mythical Type had the potential to make one grow into a top-tier powerhouse.

Because of this, the crowd burst into a noisy argument when Tokikake issued a challenge.

"Are these two monsters going to start fighting too? That last battle between Tokikake and Gion ended too quickly, hopefully not this time!"

"I wonder which of them will win?"

"We're all well aware of Tokikake's strength, and since he suffered a loss last time, he definitely won't be taking it lightly this time, and that Longinus guy has no chance of winning."

"Smartass, do you have better eyesight than Admiral Zephyr? Since Admiral Zephyr ranked Longinus first, that means he's definitely above that fat pig!"

"I also don't think the odds are good with the addition, but Longinus is an all-S rated monster."

"It's still Admiral Zephyr's eyesight. You idiots watch, the boss is no match for that guy!"

Even the instructor's camp was quietly discussing it, but monsters of this level hadn't appeared in many years, let alone clashes between monsters.

The last time they remember a collision of this magnitude was back in Sakazuki and Borsalino's first session.

"What do you think, Dragon?" Zephyr asked with a smile to his side.

"Longinus will win," Dragon said decisively and forcefully, and a little while later, added, "Crush!"

One of the commodores who overheard their conversation asked with disbelief, "Vice Admiral Dragon, are you saying that ... Longinus will defeat Tokikake by an overwhelming margin?"

Dragon nodded and cherished the words, "Yes."

"It may be true that Longinus, who comprehended Kenbunshoku Haki, maybe stronger than Tokikake, but it's not going to be crushing by any means. Tokikake is also a monster with an S-rank rating!"

The Commodore beside him followed suit, "Although Gion defeated Tokikake by an overwhelming margin previously, he was too lightly defeated than even to use his fruit ability, he can't be lightly defeated again this time, can he?"

"Longinus is S-rated because the upper limit of the evaluation is the only S!" explained Dragon succinctly.

"How is this ... possible?" A group of Commodores and Rear Admirals were a bit incredulous. They knew that Longinus was strong but strong to this extent was too exaggerated.

Therefore, they all looked to Admiral Zephyr and waited for his answer.

Zephyr, however, sighed, "A large part of the reason why I said that just now was to knock Tokikake, he's a very talented child, and his previous efforts have been seen by me as well. It's just a pity that the powerful power given to him by Mythical Type has caused him to lose his eyesight and gradually become slack and lazy. Hopefully, this blow will make him come to his senses completely!"

"Does the Devil Fruit change people that much? Why did the gentle, smooth, humble, and courteous Tokikake from the past become like this?" Zephyr sighed inwardly.

The whole group of Commodores and Rear Admirals were thrilled to hear it. Although Admiral Zephyr didn't say it explicitly, the meaning of the words was already easy to infer that he, too, thought that Tokikake would suffer a devastating blow at Longinus!

Longinus nods and takes it in his stride.

Naturally, he wouldn't refuse an offer of combat to Tokikake.

Longinus had been aware of those private rumors for a long time. Still, he never thought of challenging the other to prove his strength, because if he couldn't wait to challenge the other, it wouldn't fit in with his "hero" persona, but if the other took the initiative to invite him to fight, he wouldn't have that concern.

Seeing Longinus walk out without saying a word, seemingly belittling and ignoring his presence, Tokikake couldn't help but feel even angrier, his body like a cannonball rushing towards the direction where Longinus was.

Although his body was a bit clumsy, Tokikake's speed still surpassed most of the people on the field, and under a full outburst, even afterimages had appeared.

Unfortunately, Longinus was faster than him by more than a margin.

To his horror, the running Tokikake realized that his charge had lost its target. And that the form of Longinus had somehow disappeared abruptly from his eyes.

Before he could react, the next moment, the strong wind in his ears swept in, causing Tokikake to squint to the side with the rest of his eyes, the sharp attack of his right leg widening in his vision, eventually taking over his entire pupil.

Boom!

Like a soccer ball being violently smashed by a kick, Tokikake's massive body flew straight backward out of the field, hitting heavily into the edge of the mountain and stirring up dust.

"Just kidding, right? Tokikake was even kicked in the face?"

"When the hell did Longinus make a move? I didn't even react before I saw Tokikake fly out!"

Zephyr was standing in front of the field. He frowned and said in puzzlement, "Why didn't Tokikake transform into a beast in the first place? Has he become so arrogant as to do that?"

In the dust that obscured the view, a considerable silhouette rushed out.

Only Tokikake's limbs had become more sturdy, and his body was somewhat enlarged, giving him a sense of disproportion.

"Hybrid? Do you think that this level of increase is enough to beat me?"

Each of the three forms of the Zoan Ability is good at its own game. The human form is flexible, the beast form is strong, and the hybrid form has both, but the Mythical Type's unique abilities can only be maximized in the beast form.

Not to say that Longinus was surprised, but the others were even more confused. From the brief clash just now, it could be seen that the gap between Tokikake and his opponent could only be described as massive. They didn't believe that Tokikake couldn't see it himself and still forced himself not to use his ability at such a time. Could it be that this guy was an idiot?

"Don't worry about it! Wait until you've defeated me!" Tokikake's hybrid state roared, and under the savage clash, even the earth was cracking narrow valleys along the line, as if each step could cause the ground to shake.

"I don't know why you're doing this, though, and any reserved strength in front of me ... would be an unwise move!"

Longinus appeared like lightning in front of Tokikake's eyes, striking out hundreds of punches in an instant as his opponent's pupils contracted violently, all exploding in Tokikake's abdomen.

This time, he did not fly away but vomited a mouthful of blood. Even his internal organs were seriously injured, and this tragic situation made a lot of students who were a little soft-hearted to refuse to look at it.

"Bastard, don't be so arrogant ..." Tokikake raged up and then backed out twice as fast as he had come.

Those Commodores and Rear Admirals now understand why the S rating for Longinus is because the maximum is only S.

Both of them were S-ranked in terms of strength and physique, and it was reasonable to say that they would have to surpass each other after adding up their transformations, but the truth was just the opposite as if there was an invisible gap between them.

If it wasn't for the fact that Tokikake was strong enough to hold on by his Zoan recovery, he could have announced the end of the battle at the very beginning.

At this moment, the battle continues.

Tokikake fought to stalk to the Zoan's advantage, and Longinus was not good at using too harsh tactics, instead of making the battle stalemate.

Finally, it seemed as if he was tired of the endless fighting.

"Since you've never been willing to use your abilities, there's no point in continuing this silly battle!"

"Bored? No point? You think you're on ... Nooooooooooooooooooo!" Tokikake shrieked in rage, but suddenly found his face entangled in endless wires, and he was unable to breathe!

Longinus's long hair flew like a serpent's as it wrapped around and bound Tokikake's face tightly.

This scene fell upon the eyes of the crowd, and it was horrifying!
