Edd Sea (4/5)

Edd Sea, the place of legend;

Many years ago, it was on these seas that a sudden storm destroyed Shiki's dreams and set the tone for Roger to become the Pirate King.

Perhaps because of the special significance of this sea or the unpredictable climate of this sea, the three major rulers of the New World have all coincidentally chosen to give up fighting for this sea's sovereignty.

Because of this, the Edd Sea has become the most prestigious and unclaimed land in the New World and has been the place where countless pirates who coveted sea supremacy have gathered.

It was as if, in their eyes, occupying this legendary sea would mean that they too could be among the legends and become the fourth sea ruler of the New World.

...

Many people stood at the bow on a sailing colossal passenger ship, their eyes filled with fantasy as they looked into the sea ahead.

"I say, is this the place where the Golden Lion Pirates and the Roger Pirates dueled? It looks so ordinary!" People in the New World are never scrupulous about mentioning pirates.

"This sea was already ordinary, but it was that war that gave it its legendary color." The older sailor said with a shrug.

"I've heard that there are super pirates entrenched in this sea, is it really okay for us to be relaxed like this?" Some of the younger travelers raised their doubts.

"Everyone, don't worry. Our ship is flying the banner of Ummett-dono, the King of Shipping, and those pirates, when they see it, will more or less give some face."

The young captain dressed in a tuxedo and a nobleman's outfit explained gracefully, "Moreover, our destination Precious Beast Island is exactly World-dono's territory. World-dono and Ummett-dono have always worked together, so maybe there will even be a pirate captain to escort us when the time comes!"

"You sightless fellows, Captain Charles is the heir to the Black Sea Chamber of Commerce, so surely he must have thought of everything before he went to sea!" The speaker was a slight middle-aged man. Even his words were addressed to the crowd, his eyes continually darting in the direction of the young captain. As if to see if his flattery had had any effect.

"Captain Charles is actually the heir to the Black Sea Chamber of Commerce?" The crowd was in a slight uproar, looking at Charles with a mixture of awe and yearning.

However, the Black Sea Chamber of Commerce has business dealings with many of the biggest names in the underground world and is quite well-fed in many parts of the new world.

Why would such a great man be in the same boat as them?

"You guys are so jealous of your luck that you don't know anything about anything to take a chance on this kind of good thing, like me, but I specifically waited until Captain Charles had an adventure to get on board."

The chubby middle-aged continued to flatter, "Anyway, you can rest easy on this voyage, with Captain Charles here, just think of this as a relaxing and enjoyable cruise."

The voyage to the New World is perilous. In this case, to go to the sea, naturally, can not be just for tourism and sightseeing, most of the people onboard carry a lot of personal goods.

Therefore, almost everyone was delighted when they heard what the slight fat middle-aged man had to say.

"Great, Captain Charles is so reliable!"

"Captain Charles is our patron saint!"

Charles raised the corners of his mouth slightly. No one didn't like to be praised, although they were ordinary, what they said was quite catchy!

"Still, it is only right to thank you all for your understanding, and it would be rude of me to make this voyage my own trial without your consent."

"So, to compensate you all, I will do my best to get you all safely to your destination."

"Captain Charles is too kind!"

"Right. It's only right that it's an honor to have Captain Charles leading us."

Amidst the words of compliments and flattery, there was a faint roar of cannon fire. The waves rose and fell so steeply that even the ship's hull was shaken from side to side by the impact.

"Ah ... what happened? Are there pirates shelling us?" The chubby middle-aged man clung to the mast in a death grip, shouting in panic.

The good news is that the shock came and went quickly, and the hull soon settled down.

"There's no need to worry, it wasn't an attack, but a naval battle in the seas ahead, and one of the shells in the firefight misfired near us." Charles reassured everyone on board while pulling a telescope from his waist to look into the distance.

The crowd was slightly more settled when they heard what Charles had to say, but they still hadn't completely put their minds at ease.

Pirates are unreasonable, and they would do something like killing an unrelated passenger ship in passing.

"Captain Charles, why don't we make our escape now while we can, it will be dangerous when the naval battle is over, if the winning group is watching us!" The chubby middle-aged dared to test the boundaries.

"Don't worry, this Virginia is not something that any pirate can take down, and ..." Charles did not put down the binoculars in his hands. There was great confidence in his words, "What awaits us is not always... would be enemies."

"Not necessarily the enemy? What do you mean?" There were whispered voices around them but controlled just enough for Charles to hear.

Charles didn't care but put down his binoculars and smiled, "Because, one of the pirates is the same fleet that World-dono owns, and I happen to know the leader of that fleet."

"So what Captain Charles means is that those pirate captains might instead become our helpers?"

"Great, worthy Captain Charles!"

However, amidst the cheers of celebration and praise, there was still a discordant sound.

"But what about the other group of pirates? In case, World-sama's fleet met defeat ..."

"Impossible." Charles said with a wave of his hand, "There is only one other group of pirates, and there are over fifty ships flying World-dono's flag, not to mention that the man leading this fleet is a great cadre of World-dono's, with a bounty of two hundred million berries on the Giant Axe Carter."

Longinus, hidden in the crowd, shook his head, a bounty of 200 million pirates, barely a name in the New World, but a far cry from the World Pirates' reputation.

Such a man could also become a significant cadre of the World Pirates could only mean that World was now so cautious that the first criterion for accepting his men was that they were no threat to his safety.

Safe is safe, but it's easy to see how much he has mixed in his crew of pirates, and after two years, it's barely improved, relying solely on his reputation and strength to hold it together.

"Let's drive over there now, gentlemen, and let the heroes of the World Pirates feel the sincerity of our intentions."
