Bright lights, voices, but I can't see properly. I'm only two years old and I have no idea what is going on. Just the lights. All I can observe is light patters.
I'm Sofia Cami Johnson and I am blind.
That night was the start of my life. I didn't know anything about life, or how normal people saw. I didn't know how hard it would be. It was due to a rare genetic mutation. By the time I knew what that was I already went through surgery after surgery to try and get my eyes to work... but it didn't.
Now I'm fifteen, I'm in a school for kids like me. Anyone with a disability, mentality or physically. I still live my life pretty normally with my guide dog, Chase. He's a Labrador. I've been told he's dun, but I barely knew about the concept of color names before I lost my vision.
All I do know is my life isn't normal. I can't be like everyone else, I can't get a job and support a family. Not that anyone would date the blind girl, the freak, me.
How do I get out of this trap I live with every day? I need to find someone that cares for me, and not because they pitty me.
