CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED FIVE

"What is it, Jet?" He asked, treading carefully as if he was testing the waters. "What happened while you were unconscious, kid? Tell me," he coaxed. 

Jet, despite his love of ranting, was never really one to open up by his own accord. Especially when the topic was about him. So Alec after years of being partners was already used to the younger man's personality. What people called a troublesome and rebellious young man was simply a kid who had been hurt by everything one time too many. 

Jet slowly glanced up, his orbs hiding beneath his hair that fell to his face. And the words that left his mouth were something Alec was already expecting. After all, no one could invoke such a strong feeling from the young man who closed up his own heart to protect himself. 

"I saw Alice," he murmured.
