Beep beep beep. I was awoken by the sound of the monitor. I opened my eyes and sat up. Where am I? I looked around and saw that I was at the school infirmary. That is bloody fantastic.
I searched for a clock if I was out for a long time. At the pink-painted wall behind me, a blue clock was hung. It is almost 4:00 p.m. Was I out for that long?
I looked around and it seems as if I was the only one here. I looked at my wrist and saw long tubes of blood was injected. It was connected to a blood bag that was hung beside me on a metal-liked rod. Great, now I have ramen at my wrist.
Despite my situation, I was too tired to be panicking; Instead, I made fun of myself. How sad. Then I thought, maybe I could be a ramen vampire if these tubes must stick with me my whole life. Not bad. The person donating me their blood is a great slave. It is quite rare for anyone to have the same blood type as me because I am 'special'...or at least that is what Father said.
The smell of medicine that was lingering in the air and the cold temperature made the atmosphere seems familiar. Suddenly, flashes of pictures appeared in my head in a split second. It was flashing as if it was lightning bolts striking the sea of the sea of troubles. I squeezed my eyes close and covered my head with a pillow. I saw Father, and he was yelling to a doctor outside. W-why was I at the hospital? Why was I covered in blood?
"Make it stop!" I shouted while panting. My head hurts bad and I was still healing, but what is this?
Then, I heard footsteps from the corridors. It was running towards me in a fast pace. At the door, I saw a tall figure with chestnut brown hair wearing a brown leathered coat. Everything was blurry, so I could not see him well. From my vision, I could tell that he was about a year older or the same age as me. He was panting and gasping for air after chasing me, I guess? His chest was expanding and contracting.
"Here, drink this Kori." He said. He was holding a drink with a tablet in his hand. He lifted my chin and urged me to swallow it. It tastes bitter.
"Thanks," I sighed. I laid on my back again and covered my pocket-sacked eyes with my arms.
I peeked and saw him sitting next to me. To be honest, he looks like a homeless man waiting for money. Who is he?
"Hey, who are you?" I asked.
He looked around and pointed his finger at his face. "Me?" he asked. I nodded as if I did not want to bother.
"You sure you don't remember me?" he asked again. This boy is getting in my nerves. How stupid is he?
I tossed around and avoided him. "It's Liam, your cousin," he finally said. Hm, I do not remember Father telling me that I had a cousin; But I do remember him telling me about my arranged 'fiancé' from the Gu family. Arranged marriage is outrageous! Well, he could not be from the Gu family, maybe he is related to Father.
I sat up and took a good look at him: he has brown hair; he wears famous brands and his appearance is almost like Father when he is younger, except his eyes are bluer. This was too good to be true.
"What are you doing?" he chuckled nervously.
"Nothing, it's just that you look like Father," I said. My mind was still crossed.
"Um, okay. Anyways, I need to take you home." He said. He called out for the nurse and I was free. Then I realised, where is Asahi? Thinking about our kiss had made my face turn red as a tomato. I covered my face with my sleeves as I was blushing, and my heart was pounding. Why do I get crazy whenever I think of him?
The nurse sat me on a wheelchair. Her hands gripped my body and carried me down.
"You're good to go," she sighed. Her hands were pressing against her neck as if they want her fingers to tickle them. She handed over Liam my pass and prepared my medications. In the thin white plastic bag were several medications: fludrocortisone, pentastarch, saline and some other drugs." I guessed I'll be staying at home for a while" I sighed as I held my chin with my hand.
Liam held the wheelchair and pushed me outside. My body was weak and too brittle to be standing on the cold pale tiles that was paved. Passing through the exit, we heard clamouring. I turned my head around and saw a well-dressed man arguing with the receptionist. The man reminds me of Asahi; He loses his temper though he is here to pay respect. Liam quickly diverted me away and decided that I should wait in his car while he is gone looking for Asahi. That is odd, I have never thought that his face would look so serious. His brown hair flew behind his ear as he was pushing me fast enough for us to reach to his car.
When we arrived at the carpark, my head was spinning. I probably got air-sick; I could barely breathe properly since we passed the entrance. As I inhaled and exhaled, I tried to pull myself together. Is this guy trying to kill me?
I looked up and stared at Liam and saw him sweating; sweat was dripping from his head down to his neck. He bent down and pulled out something from his pocket: It is his pills. Huh, strange.
"Hey you okay?" I asked.
"I should ask you that," He said. His personality completely changed as if he changed into a different person: he looked serious like Asahi.
He opened the car door and bent down to carry me out. As he was about to grab my legs, I moved them away.
"I I- can get in the car myself" I was flushed. I pulled down my skirt and held on it tighter.
"Look, I have no other intention. Let me help you," He demanded
He held my thighs together and my back. I could feel his soft hands pressing against my skin. I looked away and he sat me at the front. My hands pursed against my chin as I saw him walking away. 'Who really are you Liam?"
