Chapter 27

Scared by the idea she stopped and pushed him off her, the half-drunk man landing heavily on the side of the bed as she jumped up and walked away. She heard Nacht call her names a few times but she couldn't look back. If she did she knew she would want to fall right back into his arms and that wasn't good. So she ran away, like a coward, she opened the door and closed it in a hurry behind her, resting on it as she breathed heavily, her cold palms on her hot cheeks as she came into contact with the last person she wanted to see tonight.

"Well, well, well. Old habits never die do they?" she told her.

Why did it have to be her? At that moment even her voice was annoying, her judgmental look and her grin, showing how satisfied she was with herself. She wanted to let Alice know that she was aware, she knew what had happened in there and that all her assumptions about her were true. She loved being validated like this.
