Chapter twenty Seven

"No, I'm afraid I have to let you down again." 'She is so bad-tempered.' thought Brielle. "Come on! Do you think I'd provoke the youngest woman colonel in the city? I actually value my life." Claire said and smiled, arranging the files with her right hand.

"Haha, so there is something you won't do." She said, laughing. "I thought you were invincible." Brielle seized this opportunity to tease her. "Ok, now I know you are quick-witted! I have something to do, let's talk tomorrow." Claire raised her head and glanced at her secretary coming into the room.

"Ok, see you tomorrow." Brielle hung up the phone. She lay on the bed silently, as beautiful as an Egyptian statue. Stephen opened the door and saw her lying on the bed. He walked over to her and found that she slept soundly. 'Why is she still asleep? it's late afternoon.' Stephen thought.

Stephen moved the strands of hair on her face away from her eyes, smiling at her. She stirred sleepily, and he felt peaceful, staring at her beauty. He kissed her gently on the cheek and prepared to take a bath. he usually did this when arriving home.

Brielle opened her eyes. She'd been awake the whole time but pretended to sleep. She didn't know how to get along with him, and he wouldn't interrupt her slumber to talk with her. She heard his of the shower and started to tense up. She'd agreed not to refuse his touch, but she was still afraid.

She sat up suddenly, her mind full of thoughts. "Penny for your thoughts." Brielle jumped, her thoughts fled. She turned around and saw him, bare-chested in all his glory. Her face went red with embarrassment. Stephen smiled. 'How cute. She's shy! Stephen thought to himself.

"Can you get dressed first? her voice was cracked, dry. he walked towards her, a towel wrapped around his waist. her heart started thumping in her chest. She had seen her share of bare-chested men in the army, but she was suddenly nervous. her palms were drenched in sweat. When it came to Stephen she was a mess.

"What's wrong? Are you shy?" Stephen smiled evilly and walked closer. he was tempting her. "I'm not used to it," Brielle whispered with her head low. She didn't dare to look him in the eye. "But you agreed that we'd be close, right?" Stephen's low and salacious voice sounded in her ear. She could even feel his breath on her face.

"I know. But can you give me some time?" Her ears burned red. She tried to avoid his breath. Stephen gently nibbled her earlobe and leaned in. He touched her face and gingerly guided her chin to face him.

"When will you get used to this? Don't keep me waiting long!" Stephen said kindly, teasingly, and smiled at her nervous expression. "I don't know." Brielle took a heavy breath and opened her lips slightly. Stephen kissed her impulsively.

At first, Stephen started making love to her as a practical joke, to make her even more uncomfortable. But he couldn't control himself at all and began loving her in earnest. Brielle failed to push him away and only put her hand on his bare chest.

"Daddy, what are you doing?" They separated quickly. Stephen looked at the uninvited little guy with chagrin. "You should knock first, Ariel." He sorted out Brielle's in his own attire. Then he walked away leisurely. Brielle felt even more shy, based on Ariel's reaction.

"Mommy, your face is so red! Are you too hot?" Ariel ran to Brielle and smiled innocently. 'If they're sleeping together, it won't be long now. Then Mommy and Daddy will be in love.'

"Well! Yes! V-very hot!" Brielle said a bit incoherently, dodging Ariel's innocent glance. "How can it be hot? Isn't the AC on? Daddy, are you hot too?" Ariel asked with a smile. He stared at Stephen who had donned a housecoat and was standing there, grinning.

Stephen cast a glance at Brielle's red face and chuckled softly. "No. Things were hot and heavy, but we're fine now. Though I think mommy's heart is racing." Stephen said.

Hearing this, Brielle raised her head and shot him an angry look. 'How could he say such suggestive things to their child?' "Oh! Daddy, why is mommy's heart racing?" An innocent question, though Ariel was hardly innocent.

"You should ask your mommy. How should I know?" Stephen said. He wanted to know how she dealt with the boy's uncomfortable questions. "Just tell me, mommy!" Ariel shook Brielle's hand hard with every word and stared at her in anticipation.

She was embarrassed, looking at Stephen for help. She didn't know why Ariel would ask these things. Stephen smiled. 'Is it a hard question?' He thought. But he still came to her rescue. He knew his teasing had gone too far.

"Don't put your mommy on the spot like that. Maybe she doesn't know." Stephen winked at Brielle, which didn't make her feel any better about the exchange. This would be tougher than she thought.

Brielle looked at Stephen with surprise, because she really didn't know why. Yes, she was the mother of a five-year-old, but she was still pretty naive about sex. Unlike Stephen. "What are you waiting for? Let's go!" Stephen took her hand lightly. 'She is so lovely!' He thought.

"Well, you go down first! You must be hungry. I'll go and freshen up." Her face was still burning. "Ok, don't be too long!" Stephen knew that she needed to switch gears emotionally, so he gave her room to be alone.

"Ok." Brielle glanced at him shyly. "Hey Ariel!" said Stephen. "Let's go down to see what Mrs. Pei has prepared for you." Ariel was a typical foodie. Sometimes Stephen got embarrassed to see how much he ate.

Brielle looked at herself in the mirror. her little face had turned red, her clear eyes were full of happiness. Her lips were still tingling from Stephen's kiss. She splashed cold water on her face until she felt calm. Then she toweled off.

She walked out of the bathroom, when her ringtone, a military jingle, sounded loud and clear. Checking the caller ID, she was it was Oliver. Brielle frowned and pressed the answer button. "This is Brielle." her tone was dignified as usual.

"It's Oliver. Your leave's been canceled, colonel. They have a special mission for you. The commander wants you back immediately." Oliver said urgently. "What happened?" Brielle asked while walking down the stairs. Her pace was anxious.

"I don't have details, but I don't think it's a good thing," Oliver said. 'Too bad! I know she was looking forward to her vacation.' Oliver thought. "I understand. I'll be there." Brielle said, looking at her dress. Then she sighed in chagrin. She had to go back to the dress she was in. She forgot to pack her uniform.

"I'll find out what's going on. Don't worry. Take care." Oliver gently comforted her. "Ok, I'll set out now." Brielle hung up. Stephen saw her rush downstairs and went to talk to her. "What's the matter?" Stephen asked.

"Oh, there is an emergency. I have to get back immediately. Do you have a spare car?" Her car wasn't here because Stephen drove her home last night. "I'll give you a ride. I'm worried about you." Stephen looked at her worried face with some concern.

"No, I can drive myself. Don't worry, I'm a good driver." It was a required shill when she was in military school, so her level was comparable to that of a race car driver. "Ok, Fan will prepare the car for you," Stephen said and dialed Fan.

"Let's go! He's in the garage." Stephen remembered her demands and wouldn't get in the way of her work. "Mommy, are you going back?" Ariel was sad. 'Mommy and Daddy love each other now. What happened on base? How could the commander always take advantage of Mommy?'

"Yes! I have something to handle. Be good. I'll be back soon." Brielle squatted down and kissed his pink face. "I understand. Mommy, be careful!" ariel said. he worried every time when his mom went back to the base.

"Of course. It shouldn't be anything dangerous. Go and enjoy your dinner!" Then she stood up and walked out of the gate. Stephen followed. "The car is ready for you, ma'am." Fan was so efficient, so Stephen knew there should be no problems.

"Thank you!"Her voice was still cold, but she got a little flustered when she saw the Audi A8 parked in front of her, she wasn't calm at all. 'It's too ostentatious. what will the other thing?'

"Well, is there another car?" Brielle's wrinkled her eyebrows and turned around to look at Stephen. "Yeah! Which car do you want to drive, the Bentley Bentaya or Range Rover may be the Porsche Panamera?" Stephen indicated each, but Brielle was not impressed. 'Can't you drive a normal car?' She thought.

"Are there any other models?" Brielle asked tentatively. "Yeah, but you might not want to drive it." Stephen was confused. 'There are good quality cars, and they're fast, to boot. What was her problem?' "Well, I'll drive that one then!" Brielle thought that car which Stephen mentioned might be old or more conventional, so she chose that one.

"Well, are you sure you want to drive that one?" Stephen was confused. 'That's a full-size luxury vehicle! What's she going to do? Sleep in it?' "I'm sure." Brielle was firm. "Well, Fan ready the Lexus LS." Although Stephen was wanted that car, he still gave the order.

Brielle wouldn't like this one either. She had no idea that a Lexus was before, but when the car came rolling up, she knew. "Wait, is this a Lexus?" Brielle was embarrassed. 'Uh-oh! It isn't what I thought.' It was not what she wanted.

"Yes! Didn't you say you were going to take it?" Stephen was more confused, 'So there's nothing here she likes?' Brielle thought to herself, 'Can you be a little less extravagant? Don't you have a normal car worth $20k to $30k? I can't drive this. It's too expensive! They'll think I'm corrupt!'

"Do you have a less expensive car? I don't feel comfortable driving a million dollars." Brielle had to ask. "Try a half-mile, and no," Stephen answered neatly. Brielle looked at him with a disgusted expression. What was she supposed to drive?
