Chapter Thirty Seven

The condescending woman held the hands of a lovely boy in front of the grand building of Chu International Group. However, the differences were obvious. The woman had taken off her military uniform, which, as a result, reduced her sternness, giving her an amiable disposition.

Several months had passed since Brielle had entered this luxurious and grand building. She still felt a little nervous, and involuntarily her steps slowed. Her cold hands started sweating and she grabbed Ariel's soft hands more firmly.

Ariel's distinguished face allowed them to enter the building unstopped. However, many curios glance followed them, wondering who Brielle was and why Ariel, who always refused any woman who approached his father, was personally walking this woman inside. They couldn't associate this delicate and beautiful woman with the aloof female military officer they had seen three months ago.

They took the dedicated elevator to the CEO's office on the 88th floor, which consequently and inevitably drew greater attention. Brielle felt embarrassed, possibly due to the intense glances from the others.

As soon as they came to the 88th floor, Ariel let go of Brielle's cold hand and headed for Scott's office. He still remembered how badly he had hoped that Scott would love his mother. But to his great disappointment, Scott had refused. Now, he wanted Scott to see his beautiful and charming mother so that he could see the regretful expression on Scott's face.

The moment Ava saw Brielle and Ariel approaching, she walked forward. She already knew that Brielle was the female military officer who had brought Ariel in last time because it was Ava who had led the way for them. However, at that time, Ava had no idea who this woman was. The reappearance of Ariel and this woman in the building answered her question.

"Nice to meet you," Ava offered. "I'm Ava, chief secretary of Chu International Group. Mr. Chu is in a meeting. Would you like to wait for him or should I inform him that you have arrived?" Ava inquired in a soft voice. She appreciated Brielle's composure and appearance.

Brielle wore a well-cut ankle-length dress and pair of smart black mid heel sandals. Her small face reddened. The beautiful facial features were made more prominent with eyes that were crystal clear. She was a natural beauty. Ava noticed that she was intensely surveying her surroundings.

Brielle tore her glance from her surroundings and turned to Ava. "hello," she said. "I'm Brielle, I can wait for him in his office." Brielle was also observing Ava. In spite of being aloof and elegant, the expression did not change on her cold face.

Ava was shocked when she heard Brielle introduce herself. But, she quickly recovered. She now realized why Stephen had questioned her. It turned out that there was another Miss Yang. "All right, Miss Yang. Please come with me." Ava raised her hand and pointed in the direction of Stephen's office. Then, she walked briskly and pushed open the door inviting Brielle to step in.

'Sure, thank you," Brielle nodded slightly and followed her. "Please take a seat and wait for a moment. The meeting is about to be over." Although Ava was curious about Brielle's identity, she followed the rules and repressed her interest.

"Ok, thank you." A small and brief smile finally appeared on her face. Brielle elegantly sat down on the sofa. "You are most welcome. Would you like a coffee or tea?" asked Ava. This was the first time she had seen her smile. Her smile was natural, graceful, and brief.

"Nothing, thanks." Brielle's elegant manners and behavior had actually won her many fans. "I'll leave you alone. If you need anything, do call me," said Ava jerking her head to indicate that she would be sitting outside. She then turned around, closed the door, and left the room.

Brielle quietly observed the luxurious office. Due to the lack of time and her anxiety, she had failed to consider the overall layout of this room before. Now, she nearly boxed herself in the ears. It turned out that Stephen's elegance was based on big money.

"Mr. Chu, Miss Yang is in your office," Ava said as soon as she saw Stephen walking out of the meeting room. "Hasn't she gone back after lunch? Why has she come here again?" inquired Scott. he was sure that Leah would have gone home and had a good cry. The meal had cost her heavily, which would certainly anger and distress her.

Ava was about to say something but stopped. Had they had lunch together? It seemed that Mr. Scott disliked Miss Yang. And she had made Brielle sit in Stephen's office. What should she do now?

"Did she say anything?" Stephen frowned and asked in a displeased manner. he didn't want to waste his time dealing with Leah. He was thinking about going home as soon as possible and hug and kiss the woman waitingfor him there.

'No, she did not say anything. However, she came here with Ariel." Ava wondered if she had done the right thing because Stephen seemed to be seething with displeasure. "What? Did she actually come here with Ariel? Where is she now?" Stephen's spirit lifted suddenly and his face was full of anticipation at the prospect of something. Was she the woman ho had been disturbing his thoughts all day?

"She is in your office." Ava was suspicious of Stephen's reaction. Was he delighted or discontented? With these words, Stephen rushed to his office. he desperately needed to know if Miss Yang sitting in his office was his wife that he had wanted so much to meet.

Ava misunderstood his reaction and thought that he was angry. So, she also closely followed him and considered it her duty to clear up the mess she had created as a result of her own fault. Scott shook his head when he saw both of them rushing towards Stephen's office. He turned and unhurriedly walked to his own office, wondering why this Miss yang was so important. Why am I so nervous? Stephen wondered as he reached for the door to his office.

He steadied himself and took a deep breath before he slowly opened the door. When the door creaked open, Brielle turned her head and smiled at Stephen. her smile was so sweet and full of grace. She outshone the fairest faces in the world. stephen's heart finally settled down. It really was her, the woman he had missed so much. It never occurred to him that Brielle, as aloof as ice water could surprise him in this way.

"Honey, it's really you!" Stephen quickly walked up to Brielle. Grinning from ear to ear, he stretched out his hand to scoop her into his arms and kissed her on the lips. Ava could not hide her surprise at Stephen using the endearment 'honey.' She silently closed the door and left the duo with a gentle smile playing on her lips.

"Oh..." Brielle lost her head and once again forgot to breathe. With her hands around Stephen's neck, her whole body became soft and weak. "Hey, you forgot to breathe again." Stephen let go of her and propped his forehead against her forehead, smiling playfully.

"Are you still busy? Did I bother you?" asked Brielle shyly. Such an intimate touch made her nervous. "No, what brings you here? Were you missing me?" Stephen took a step back and lovingly looked at her blushing face. he found that this woman always blushed.

"Well, Ariel wanted to eat out, so ... eh, we came to pick you up from work." Brielle unconsciously stammered as she was still not used to such slice proximity with Stephen. "Oh? What does he want to eat this time?" Stephen knew his son well. Ariel was interested in trying different kinds of food and wouldn't yield to the temptation of tasty food.

"Does he always ask to eat out?" Brielle frowned as she felt embarrassed for her son. Ariel was not fussy about his food and ate whatever she cooked. And as they lived in the army, they rarely ate out.

"It's understandable. Children like new things, right?" Stephen sat down on the sofa and made Brielle sit in his lap, his hands resting on her waist. With his chin on her shoulder, his warm breath caressed her sexy neck.

Brielle tried to wriggle free from his arms. Although she had secretly loved him for many years, it was the first time that she was so close to him. She felt a little self-conscious. "Don't move, otherwise I can't predict the consequences," Stephen said in a hoarse and low voice, trying hard to restrain himself.

His playful warning successfully stopped Brielle. She knew what he meant, so she didn't dare to move anymore. As Brielle suddenly became stiff, Stephen evilly smirked. His fascinating smile dazzled Brielle. She had dreamed of him so many times, but it had never been so shocking and pleasurable devastating.

Brielle fixed her eyes on Stephen's. Seeingly, a thousand years had passed. She suddenly fell into the wheel of time, deeply fascinated by this fantastic moment. Stephen was surprised at the expression in Brielle's eyes. from her clear eyes, he saw a deep love that she was trying to hide. His heart started pounding wildly. 'Is she looking at me? Or she is reminiscing about someone she deeply loved?' Stephen thought to himself.

He trembled at the thought that Brielle once loved some other man. 'Is it too late? Can't I win her heart?' he continued thinking. "Uncle Scott, hurry up!" An abrupt voice broke the beautiful moment. The two quickly looked away.

"Ariel," Scott said in an exasperated voice, "What do you want to show me?" Ariel pulled Scott into Stephen's office. he was stunned by what he saw in the office.

"Well. Sorry Stephen, please continue. I have to leave as it is." Scott said not being able to tear his eyes away from the couple. He wanted to leave immediately when he saw Stephen's gloomy face. "Gosh. I would be doomed for interrupting them," he thought to break out in a cold sweat. "I know I should have knocked on the door, but Ariel pulled me in. I have nothing to do with this," said Scott as quickly as possible. 'Stephen, don't blame me for this,' he prayed silently.

"Uncle Scott, this is my mommy. She is charming, isn't she? Do you like her? Why not reconsider my proposal to date her?" Ariel said with pride, holding Scott's hand tightly. He hadn't realized that the moment had turned awkward the moment they had broken in.

"What? This is your mommy?" Scott cast his eyes on Brielle but hurriedly turned away his gaze when he noticed Stephen angrily glaring at him. Brielle finally recovered from the horror and wriggled out of Stephen's arms in a panic, blushing charmingly.

"Hello, I'm Brielle yang." Brielle offered her hand to Scott as she took a few steps forward. She no longer blushed and had switched to the cold and indifferent person she had been trained to maintain.

"Hello, Brielle. I'm Scott Hughes. Nice to meet you," smiled Scott. Minus the heavy makeup, she was a beautiful, elegant, and delicate lady. No wonder Stephen, who didn't like commonplace women, loved her son dearly.

Scott excitedly stretched out his hand, wanting to shake hands with Brielle. But Stephen smartly smacked his hand away. "come on. I just wanted to shake hands with Brielle. This is very mean of you, Stephen," complained Scott. However, from his behavior, Scott realized that this woman was very special for Stephen.

Brielle, embarrassed, looked at Scott apologetically. She hadn't expected Stephen to suddenly stop him from shaking hands with her. As a female officer, she often shook hands with others, which was necessary social netiquette to express her friendliness.

Scott looked at the big red welt on the back of his hand and glared at Stephen, but Stephen didn't apologize or look at him. 'Damn! He actually hit me hard. How cruel is he? Here is this beautiful lady, totally different from the woman in heavy makeup and garish clothes, that I had seen in the club the other day. And I just wanted to shake her hand,' Scott thought to himself. 'However, one thing is clear. The sophisticated makeup techniques used today can both beautify a person or make them look ugly.'
