A day has passed since Callus great performance, he never once again left his room filled with quite guilt Mira constantly asked about his wellbeing to the maids, they answered with either he was just sleeping or reading. Taking a hint, she let Callus be, let the child rest. She says finally and finally surrendered to Stella, playing with her. She found herself looking at the teary eyes of Stella while pointing at the 50 feet tall tree where at the top of the very tree hangs the doll rather proudly. This little devil really has the ability to make everything possible. She blinks at the doll then gaze at the little devil, she pointed and asked.
"How?" Staring blankly at her, she shrugged with her teary eyes. Feeling also felt like crying both children stood while looking at the doll at the tall tree. Callus was passing by when he saw both girls planning to shift to another direction until he notices they stood still while staring at something debating whether to join them, his curiosity won over as he approached them slowly dragging his feet on the process. He followed their gaze, finding the monkey doll hanging on the branch.
Eh? How is this even possible? He thought with a blank face. Three children stood still just observing the doll
John passing by, saw the children and the object of their observation with a blank face he approached them. Smiling at the children he asks.
"Whose doll is it?" With his amenable approachable aura Stella raise an arm.
"Oh now how did it got there?" he asked while walking near the tear, once stood close, he touch the tree's thick body then smiled deeper at the children.
"Want to see something rather a sight?" He asks his smile gradually becoming deeper. An unknown flash of light cross his eyes it was quick but Mira noticed, she couldn't help but be more alert.
John takes off his left glove on his hand peeling it off then clench and unclench his palm.
"All right here we go." He said as he places his palm on the tree's surface while smiling softly. The children observe the man and the tree for a minute curiously, and then time pass by nothing is still going on. Bored the children's initial curious face died down tilting their heads to the side frowning at the man. The man standing still with a vibrant smile attached to his lips ignored the mock look of the children then slowly the proud tree slowly wilted, its leaves fell to the ground at an incredible speed slowly slopping to the side, the tough bark on its body cracked turning dry. The cracked surface releases an acidic scent.
Mira familiar with this scent stared at the jolly man with danger. This is acid! He burned the tree's insides with acid! This is her first time being exposed to this world's magic. She secretly reads in the library trying to extract information about this world with wide eyes they stared at him with multiple expressions; that being shock, fear, awe and admiration. The doll fall off from the sloppy branch catching it with his right gloved hand; he slowly turns his head facing the children. He waved the doll in the air showing bit happiness.
Stella quickly running over despite Mira calling her over when she arrives closer she reached out with both of her arm with a gratified expression to her little face. John give the doll with a smile, patting her head after, the other two children stand by in caution.
"Now that children, is magic." John nonchalantly claims.
"I want to learn!" Stella yelps with curiosity and determination.
"Oh I bet you will soon."
"When? "Mira asked quite curious.
"When the time is right the master will personally send you to the academy, people with magical ability are quite rare you know." John carelessly shrugs.
Mira looks at both of her palms will she too be able to control and use magic with a thought at that made her blood boil in excitement, she couldn't wait to search more about this magic on the other side Callus standby quietly but interest dance in his eyes, he pursued his lips and left quietly
As time pass by, it was time to sleep the roar of the wind resonated outside as the dark stormy sky engulf the heavens. There is a thunderstorm currently, the mansion lights are off as it was the time to surrender to the softness of the sheets. Mira still drowning in curiosity reads about the foundation of magic, as she reads page for page she was slowly grasping the idea of this said magic.
Like in her original world, this magic is an energy from our spirit, mentality and body that condense together to create an energy, that is what we called magic in the west, chi on the east and chakra on the north.
Suddenly her door was invaded by the small radish, she ran quickly to her bedside, climbing up and hiding under the sheets, with confusion Mira poked the little radish. Stella's face appears under the sheets with sweat on her forehead she grasp for her breath.
"Whoa there, did you ran for a marathon?"
"Mara- what?" Mira shrugs, she has to stop herself calling these modern stuffs.
Stella shakes her head as she snuggled closer to her sister, trying to catch her breathe she spoke slowly.
"I saw something bad in Callus' bedroom" Stella speaks her voice regaining its strength.
"What?" Mira freezes.
"I woke up when I heard a bang outside, when I peeked through and I saw Callus being dragged out."
"How did you get here?"
"When they passed by my bedroom, I quickly dash out here. I'm scared sissy, What if he tried to get me too?"
Mira quickly stand up from her bed, she opens the windows looking down, it's quite high but she thinks they can get out of here, she quickly opens the cabinet gathering the sheets she tied them together from the ends. Stella stays in bed watching her in curiosity.
"Stella can you raise both of your arms?" Mira asks.
Stella quite confuse as she watch Mira tie the rope around her waist and watch her twirl it around a pillar.
"Jump down Stella don't worry I got you."
"But how about you?"
"Don't worry about me but you have to go to the guard's quarter, alert them while I try to find Callus, okay?"
Stella nods in hesitance, though for a child strength Mira struggled quite a bit but Stella's weight isn't too much that she can't handle.
