Chapter 2

"Ya! Why don't we ever see alice with her parents?" A girl asked after the boy

I could see through my grandma. I knew that she wasnt having it with these questions so i decided to talk up.

"My parents are really cool and they work with the FBI so I don't see them much" I lied

"Oh really? That's cool!" The boy replied

We walked along the side walk following my gramdma to the bus stop.

She was still looking for something in her purse while walking and that's when it happened.

It was time for us to cross the road so my grandma looked out for the vehicles as while sending us across the road in a hurry.

She came after us running out of the road in a hurry but everything happened so fast.

"Hurry up and cross the road everyone!" My grandma shouted as she sent everyone across the road

"Okay guys your turn go now I'll come with you" she said as she walked across the road with the last 7 children.

"Get out of the road noe run across quickly!" She shouted and that was the last thing she said.

The only thing i saw was blood everywhere.

Everyone stood there in disbelief staring at the road as the rain poured down on the blood which was painting the road.

After at least 17 seconds everyone started to scream and cry. After all we were just 6 and 7 year olds.

But i just stood there looking at my grandma crushed on the road with the kids that we were walking with just now.

"Oh my gosh! Sh*t! I'll get help I'm sorry I'm sorry!" The man from the truck ran over to the bloody scene that he caused.

I remember how cold and dead i felt sitting there with the other kids as the police tried to get me to talk.

"What's your name?"

"Do do you have any parents?"

"Where do you live?"

"Are you there?"

"Alice! God damn it!" my mom shouted

"You can't just ignore us when we're talking to you alice! After all we're your parents" my dad said as he took a sip of his coffee.

"I- I'm sorry I didn't hear you guys... I just spaced out it's nothing" I lied

"Don't do that again it's disrespectful to ignore your parents while they're talking to you" she said while giving me my breakfast

"So! Alice we're going to go to our old town! Are you excited?"

"Ya... I'm excited" I replied while stuffing my face with pancakes

"We are so lucky that the Andersons invited us to this trip honey."

I could only sit and listen to what they had to say about our old town. I was pretty hurt thou. No matter how much i tried bringing up grandma they got upset. They act as if what happened that day wasnt real as if she wasnt crushed by a truck and died.

"Alice I think you should pack your stuff and get ready because we have 2 more days before the trip!"

"Okay mom" I said as i strolled up to my room and got ready for school

I guess I'll just forget about everything and try my best to clear my head.
