Mark's POV
It's the 27th of December and here I am laying my back on my bed, just woken up minutes ago, still thinking if I should go out with Winston. I only met him yesterday, should I give in so easily? But I just want to get to know him better. He is Lynn's cousin anyway; he must be a good person. What if he is just a guy who plays? What if he won't take it seriously? Wait, what was I thinking? Taking what seriously? I'm being paranoid. It's just a walk, that's it. Nothing serious.
I got up my bed and checked my phone. I saw a text message from Winston. After we talked yesterday, he asked if he could get my number so he can text me. After giving mine to him, he texted me with a smile face emoji so I can save his number to contacts. "You ready?" his text message states. I scrolled down and forth to our two messaged conversation on my phone. I don't know what to reply, should I go like a very funky personality? "Hey! Yeah sure, pumped up to see yah eww that is gross. Should I reply with a more casual tone like "Yeah sure, I'll wait" No that's too friendly. I ended up replying "Yeah" as an informal response but still sounding not so gunk.
I got inside my bathroom and showered, scrubbed my body, shampooed my hair and brushed my teeth. I took my time inside the shower scrubbing my body and getting ready for the day. By the time I'm done taking a bath, the morning breeze is gone and the sun has set its throne atop. I got out the bathroom with my bathrobe lengthen just above my knee. My chest half shown from the V shaped of the robe's opening and tied the tie in my belly part. I was quickly brushing my hair with my bare hands, which blocks half my sight so I turned my face down, I smelled my conditioner so I stopped it. I lifted my head what I saw bulged my eye out.
Winston was smiling at me. He stared at me from the top of my hair, right down my feet. I have never felt so conscious about my self since this time. "How did you get here?" that is what all I could say while I was still in shock and quickly ran to dress up inside the bathroom. I felt my body heat up from my chest to my face and I did not even look at what shirt and pants did I took. In addition to it, I completely naked inside my short rove. I just swiftly dress up and by the time I got out, Winston was red in the face. I stared at him with confusion. "I drove Lynn just outside your house then she and Jean set off to Clay's" his smile not fading away but he is quickly turning his hue back to normal. His eyes trailing back and forth my body, or rather my features, I guess. "Yeah sure, but how did you get inside though?" I asked him while I brush my hair to perfection. He watched me as I turned my back on him to face the mirror from far side my bed from which he sat. I have to lean down a bit to see my hair, the mirror is leveled by my sleeping position. "Jean let me inside" I heard his response and continued perfecting my hair. After some swishes and brushes, I stood up from my leaning position and faced him. I initiated to go outside, then we sat off.
Jean's POV
I heard Lynn's car honked outside my house or Mark's house, whatever. I got down to meet them and by the time I got out, Mark's not yet. I got inside the Car while Winston gets out of the driver's seat and Lynn getting out the car to go inside the driver's seat. As soon as I got inside the car, Lynn was so hyped up. She turned to me, smiling "Mark's going out with Winston" My eyes then turned to Winston outside the car. I smiled and had the craziest idea of the day. "Come, his mom's not home and he might be sleeping" I offered him Mark's house. I told him where Mark's room is located and got out the house, smiling. Lynn was half laughing inside the car by the time I got inside. "they look so fine with each other| Lynn giggled. Lynn drove in Clay's direction.
While on the road, I can't help but discuss Winston to Lynn. "So, since Winston has Mark, you mind telling his story to me?" I looked at Lynn from the mirror. "okay" she turned right, now we're a block and a straight highway to Clay's residence. I told her to start the story when we got to Clay's which she agreed onto. I stared outside the car window, sunlight beaming through the leaves and the tress. Houses filled with children shouting and playing with fun barked in their faces. It's still holiday, and I feel so light and bright. By the time we got outside Clay's house, I felt hunger. We knocked at the door but Clay didn't answer. From what happened last time this happened, we took the spare key from one of the pots outside and opened the door. He must have been on a walk again or something. I heard low laughter from afar, coming from Clay's Mom's room.
Lynn and walked straight the room with confusion and caution. I opened the door and a picture of Clay laughing with his mom welcomed us. They must be talking and we interrupted it, because as soon as I opened the door, their laughter stopped but smile trails from their faces. They both looked delighted to see us so we smiled back. "we're sorry, it's just our habit to check in here" I explained then Clay scuffed. They both don't mind that we got inside with out permission since we do it most of the times. Clay offered us to come inside, then Lynn and I both sat from a chair, watching them walk. Clay's mom was sharing us stories of how Clay used to throw tomatoes every time he sees one and how he used to have a long pillow that he never let go when he's in bed. We watched them as they both laughed at their memories together, probably one of the best sights ever. Seeing Clay laughing while have a conversation with his mom is priceless. They look so delightfully happy. I smiled at them, Clay sitting in his mom's far side bed, his arm leaning on the bed, half laying. After a couple more stories, Clay talked to her mom if we could go outside to buy food, which his mother agreed with.
"where are we going though?" I heard Lynn asked when we got inside Lynn's car. Clay replied, stating he cooked breakfast for his mom and he wanted to go back the food court he discovered. I agreed with him, that food court may not sell healthy breakfast or lunch, since most of the foods there are snacks, I like to see other places too. I personally know that food court because I've been here this town for a lifetime but I don't often go there since it's quite too far from home. I directed Lynn where to turn since Clay did not clearly remembered where he turned. After some time of lefts and rights we got there. A shallow place of food stalls, a roof trailing from the sides of the court while the middle area has small counters with stone umbrella shaped figures. Some of the paints from the stone chairs and walls are coming off but still looking good with its garden ambiance.
We ordered our foods. I got directly to a burger food stall, it's the most decent breakfast to get here. Lynn took off to another stall to buy her food while Clay did the same. We found a free space not so afar from the food stalls. We each have our order numbers from various food stalls we ordered with, saying they'll just serve our order when it's ready. We sat down and looked at the place. People are everywhere, some I know while most of them I do not. Not plenty of people are here this time, as far as I remember this is a crowded area, Maybe because it's holiday. A girl then walked to us with three big plastic cups and straws in a platter. The girl has a shiny, slick black average length hair. Clay then greeted the girl, "Good to see you again here Pancy" with a smile from his face. I didn't know Clay knew someone other than us from this town. The Pancy girl then replied with a laugh "Yeah, guess what happened since you last saw me?"
