Chapter 25: It's Dangerous...

I looked at the cat, he looked perfectly fine, almost as if he was used to what was going on right now. He had a bit of a grin on his face, as if he thought that all of this was funny. It was not funny to me right now, there were so many thoughts drowning through my head right now, I could not even think.

I tried to regain myself, physically, it was impossible, with all the moving around it the thing that we were in. I still was not too sure what it was that we were in quite yet. I did not remember any of this when my mother put me up for adoption.

How could this cat be calm right now? He looked like all of this was normal. None of this was normal, at least to me. I wanted to get out of here as soon as possible, and for many reasons. The main reason was that I was scared, I truly had no clue what was going on around me.

The 2nd part, also a main factor in the reason I was freaking out, was that I was already low on time to find those cats. Just as soon as I had found them, it seemed like Starclan just was playing with me. Sure, this was a test to see how strong I was, but at this point, the test were going a little bit too far.

"Buddy... What's your name?" The cat said to me. I looked at him for a few moments, but I did not say anything to him. I did not need to, nor did I feel like talking to another cat right now, much less a cat that was kind of useless to me none the less.

I sat there in silence for a few moments, the cat just looked at me for a few more moments, he then shook his head at me. I felt a little bit bad for him, he was clearly bored, and he was just trying to initiate a conversation. I did not want to start one right now, first I just had to find a way out of here.

The cat looked a little bit lonely, I could tell. I tried my best to ignore that fact for just a few moments, but when he began cleaning out his fur, I just could not help but say something back to the cat. At least, this seemed normal to him, so that meant he had been here before right? There was a way out of here then...

"I am Moon... Sorry, I am just trying to think of a way to get out of here." I said to the cat. The cat looked at me for a few moments, then he began licking his fur once again. For a cat that sure did look lonely, he did not want to continue the conversation that he had started in the first place.

I looked away, then I looked around to see what we were in. I could not tell, but whatever it was, it was very uncomfortable and it was shaking around a lot. I looked around to see if there was anything else around us that I could talk to.

All I saw was a rabbit and a group of hamsters all sitting with each other in separate boxes. I thought about trying to talk to them, I had been talking to that one dog earlier. But I did not want to look too stupid around the other cat that was with me in the room.

The cat might think I was crazy, and he would not want to talk to me at all. I looked down at the ground, not sure what to do now. Where was I going? What were they doing to me? Where was I? I had so many questions, and no way of getting any answers to any of them.

I just tried to keep myself calm, even though my brain was swirling in so many different places right now, not able to comprehend what was going on around me. I looked up at the cat that was in the room with me, he looked at me dead in the eyes, and then he nodded.

"You are a rogue... I am afraid there is no way out buddy. I've tried many times, they always come and bring me back. Luckily they are a no kill shelter, so at least that is good." He said to me. I looked at the cat, and then just nodded to him, I was not sure what he meant.

Was he telling me that they brought cats in too kill them at some of these places? I shivered, I always knew that there was an evil side to twolegs. I felt sick thinking about them just tearing apart cats, like a pack of coyotes, and then eating us.

"I'm not a rogue... But I have been to one of these places, just a long time ago, and a long ways away." I said to the cat. He looked at me for a few moments, and then he eventually nodded at me. Though I could tell he was not too sure he even believed what I had said.

I was not too sure which part he was confused about, was in the one where I had said I had been in 1 before, the part where I said I had been from a long ways away, or the part that I said I was not a rogue? Maybe it was all of them that he was not willing to believe me about quite yet.

To be fair, I did look like a rogue, but I did not like to call myself one, rogues where a lot different than clan cats. I had learned that from the few days that those rogues had kind of held us captive, I am sure not all rogues were like that, but it kind of gave me a blurry vision about the rest of them.

"Really? You look fairly young, you have been traveling? Or your owners brought you out somewhere and threw you out?" He said to me. I looked out him, and then I winced a little bit at the same time. I then looked at the ground, remembering the day that my owner had thrown me out of the place.

I had ran over to my female owner, but she had just completely ignored me, it was at that point, that I knew that I was destined for a far greater path than just being a lousy kittypet. I could tell that this cat did not like that sort of life either.

But my brain was kind of getting off topic now, I really just wanted to know if there was a way for me to get out of here, if he had gotten out of here before. I closed my eyes, trying to drain out my thoughts for a few moments.

I then looked back at the cat, by now he had gone back licking his fur again. I did not blame him, I had not answered his question to any sort of extent. He was probably starting to get a bit annoyed up to this point now. I did not blame him at all, if he truly was.

"I got thrown out, but not near here, I was traveling with a group. I was supposed to come here, because one of my friends was sick. But I got stuck, and the last thing I remember was getting stabbed with something..." I said to him. He looked at me for a few moments, he then winced quite a bit.

I wondered what it was, the right side of my body still felt quite a bit numb. Had they put something in my body? I don't remember a cut ever making my body do something like that before. At first it sure seemed like a cut, but the sleep drowned that out just as soon as I had felt it.

"Those are the worst... You should be out for a few days... I don't think you will be able to get out, if that is your plan at least... They might remove your claws and make you not be able to have kits, if you do not act right." He said to me. I looked at him a bit surprised, hoping that he must be joking. But he looked dead serious at all that he had just said to me.

I shivered for and then I just nodded to him, not sure how to respond to what he had just said to me. I did not know that twolegs could be so scary, but today had clearly taught me a lot of things that I had not realized before. I was beginning to really dislike them.

"Is there any way out of the shelter?" I said to him. He looked at me for a few moments, then he lowered his head to the ground. I had a feeling that my hopes were just about slim to none right now. I must get out of here as soon as possible if I were not save those kits.

"There is... But it's dangerous..."
