Black Wings and Shiny Things

Dying alone choking on your own blood with broken bones and torn flesh sucks. Being helpless tears at the soul. In this twilight of her far too young life, Morgan silently screams her despair to heaven. To hell. To anyone that will listen. In the end, it is a simple crow that answers her call. Answers her loneliness.



As the darkness consumes her the last shred of Morgan is plucked from her corpse and flown somewhere farther than the very edge of the universe. A fragment of thought, a remnant of will, asks in wonder where she's going under these black wings.



A shining palace of obsidian and silver beneath ebon cawing clouds, where an empress with onyx eyes and knowing smiles offers a chance. But nothing comes without a cost. And she will have to decide if living is worth her life.
