Chapter 11: I Trust Her. I Love Her.

"What do you mean by 'one of me?'" I asked, fearful for the answer.

"I mean a heretic. A part witch-"

"Yeah I know what a heretic is but will Kacchan have any obligations as one of your kind?"

"Well, she'll have to drink blood."

"Apart from that?"

"No she could be completely independent from the rest of us."

"Could be? What do you mean by 'could be', Enzo?!"

"I mean that if one day she decides to join us, she would be more than welcome to. "

"Okay. Fine. Do whatever you need to."

"Okay. Y'all might want to stand back," Enzo suggests, walking towards Kacchan.

"Okay," I say numbly. Then, Enzo starts chanting.

I look at Kacchan, whose red eyes open suddenly. She sits up and turns to me. Her eyes become darker, her skin becomes pale, her hair stands up, and she opens her mouth to reveal two sharp teeth in the front. I want to walk towards her, to comfort her, but I can't will my feet to move. She sighs and raises her arms in front of her, palms turned upwards. I realize that I am moving without my feet moving. It's like she's pulling me towards her. Then I remember she's a witch. I don't fight against her pull. I trust her. Soon enough, I'm standing in front of her. She says nothing still and Enzo is watching her warily. She puts her face to my neck and sniffs. Huh? Why did she just sniff my neck?

I feel a small stabbing feeling at my neck and Enzo screams,"NO!" I shoot him a pleading look and say, "It's fine. I trust her. I love her." He backs away into the hallway to do what I do not know. Uraraka stares wide-eyed as Kacchan continues to drain my neck. My vision starts to fade white and Kacchan suddenly stirs at my side. I'm suddenly in her arms and she's laying me on the bed, weeping by my side. I hear her mutter, "I'm sorry" and tears roll down my cheeks as I ask her,"For what?" She did nothing wrong. She is an angel. She's perfect.

"How could you think that?" She asks me. "I'm a monster."

"Hey." I intertwine her fingers with mine. "You are not a monster. You're perfect." She starts to sob and I wipe each tear off of her cheeks. I made her cry. I'm the real monster. I did this to her. I made her doubt herself. I made her think she was a monster. This is all my fault. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Enzo coming back with a bag full of bags full of some red liquid. Kacchan's eyes bleed crimson, her hair stands on end, and her skin becomes colorless as she turns to Enzo and grabs one of the liquid-filled bags. She rips it open but sends me a pleading glance before taking any action against it. I nod enthusiastically, wanting her to fill her hunger. She smiles at me before sucking the liquid. She finishes the bag and asks Enzo for more. He hands her another bag which she finishes within seconds. She throws the bags into the trashcan and then walks over to sit on the bed I was now lying down on.

"I love you," she says softly in my ear. I nuzzle my head in the crook of her neck.

"I love you too,Kacchan."
