According to Victoria and Skye, the Scriptures of Darkness wasn't just a dangerous grimoire that recorded dangerous, powerful and possibly apocalyptic spells, of the Celestial Maidens. In the original universe, the Creator used created multiple copies of it, just like the multiverse, and sealed a considerable part of Lustis' powers in it. Although it wouldn't let him regain the massive powers he got from the original universe, it would still allow Lustis to fight us on an even footing.

"And the Scriptures of Darkness is sealed within the lives of the Historians. Although not the same in all the other worlds in the multiverse, in this world, the Scriptures of Darkness is within Blake and the Sect are killing the rest of the Historians in a schedule to unlock the seal of the scriptures within Blake's body and soul." Skye explained.
