Chapter 17: Invitation to the Alchemist Banquet

The next morning, the main steward from the Zhu clan came to the residence of Wei Di. The third uncle came out and greeted him with surprise. After all, the main steward was highly regarded in the Zhu clan and one of the prominent figures in Fengfan city.

"The clan leader is having closed-door cultivation now, may I know if you have any words you need me to convey?" the third uncle respectfully asked.

The steward said" I see...but I didn't come here for the clan leader, I came here to convey words to young master Wei Di on the behalf of our clan leader"

The third uncle could not believe his ears and was bewildered over the fact that a junior member, especially the lazy bum Wei Di, had connections with the famed Zhu Clan Leader Du Wu.

The third uncle quickly waved his hand as a sign for the guards to call Wei Di out. The half awoke Wei Di came out looking unkempt "Ahhhh so what's your clan leader's decision?" The steward bowed slightly and replied "The Clan Leader Du have agreed to your terms and is thankful for you for considering us as a partner"

The third uncle overheard it and was stunned because of the subtle word "partner". Many clans would fight for business dealings with the Zhu clan but being their partner is in a position that many smaller clans can only dream off. A partner meant that it would be a long term business partnership with the full support of the Zhu Clan in terms of resources and connections.

Wei Di was indifferent because he knew the outcome already. Du Wu would be a fool to reject this offer. "Anything else?" Wei Di asked before hitting the bed again.

"Clan Leader Du Wu would like to invite you to be a guest alchemist representing the Zhu clan in the upcoming alchemist banquet" the steward earnest replied.

The alchemist banquet was a banquet hosted by the alchemist association in Fengfan city. It invites top alchemists from various cities and partners they have business dealing within the nearby region. And of course, the main highlight of the banquet is the alchemist competition. It was one of the major highlights of the city every year.
