Chapter 29: A Shadow Spirit that talks!

As Wei Di walked through the aisle of the ingredients, he thought to himself "The alchemist association actually has some pretty good ingredients such as the Horns of the Rockaway Bull ..Eyes of the Green Flying Serpent and the thousand-year Meradu Flower.."

Wei Di saw a resting zone and went over to lie on it to make his decisions. As he lied down, he saw a weird-looking shadow stone on the small shelf beside him. On close observation, he felt that the shadow stone had a strong aura hidden deep within the shadow stone. He put his hand over the stone and inserted his energy to navigate within the shadow stone. But alas, the moment he tried to do that, a spark occurred and Wei Di had to immediately retract his hand.

"There must have been a seal on this," Wei Di thought to himself. Wei Di further scrutinize the complicated seal. The seal was definitely done by an expert and shouldn't be able to open. But no seal was greater than Wei Di's curiosity. Soon, he found the breakthrough he needed.

"Release!" Wei Di exclaimed.

A huge wave of shadow energy gushed out of the stone. On reflex, Wei Di immediately chanted an inscription of "Dark Nevada Blinding Arts!" With that, an array of thick black chains rushed through the source of shadow energy and blinded the shape of a shadow.

It was a shadow spirit. Shadow spirits are extremely rare and usually cultivated by a high- level Assassin who dwells in shadow arts.

"Brat who are you? How do you know the Dark Nevada Blinding Arts?" the shadow spirit asked in a gypsy voice.

Wei Di was a tad shocked because even in his previous life he had not met a shadow spirit that could talk, let alone human language.

Wei Di replied, "How are you able to talk...unless you are a human that turned into a shadow spirit?"

The shadow spirit replied, "I am the founder of the Shadow Assassin Clan, Ying Qi!"

The Shadow Assassin Clan is one of the top three assassin clans in the country known for its high success rate. He recalled the current clan head, Rang Hu. He was infamous for being ruthless and killing his master. Rumors had it that his master Ying Qi was in deep cultivation and he accidentally took a wrong disastrous step and damaged his spiritual core. Rang Hu then took the chance to kill his master to be the next clan leader.

Wei Di replied, " I assume you are Rang Hu's master?"

The Shadow Spirit angrily remarked" You know the ingrate Rang Hu?!?! I was trapped in this Shadow Stone for Three hundred Years because of him!
