Getting over it

Mum talked to me the day after. She told me that I was to stop acting so hard and understand that they needed some time away (a month to be precise). It hurt listening to what she said because she had misunderstood what I had been trying to ask all along.

"Do I have to stay alone or are you getting me a babysitter?" I asked, innocently.

"Do you think we have enough cash to get you a flippin' babysitter?" Mum snapped back.

"Well you have enough cash to go on vacation, but not for your own daughter's safety." I hissed, hurt.

Mum huffed and puffed, and rushed out.

I found out they were leaving literally the day after tomorrow so I knew they wouldn't be keen on taking me along with them. I agreed not to argue because I knew THAT was it.
