Mayumi flicked the safety off on her Sniper rifle, her face showed no signs of nervousness or anxiety, rather a confident expression could be stopped on her beautiful face.
She wore a specially made outfit, made specifically to represent the participants of the [Speed-Shooting Event], the [First High-School] was currently at the third place with 30 points, behind [Sixth-High School] and [Third High-School].
Today was the [Speed Shooting event] for all year-students, from 4th year to Newcomer's division, First High-School had managed to secure the first rank in the 3rd-year match, while the Third and Sixth, both had secured two wins in 2nd & 1st and 4th year, respectively.
Now, only Newcomer's division was left to be conducted.
Mayumi was ready to perform and establish another victory for her school, effectively overtaking both of the schools due to the fact that Newcomer's division points had a bigger weightage than other divisions.
"All the best, Mayumi.....I know you will win this event."
Mari encouraged her best friend with a smile on her face, knowing full well that Mayumi would absolutely dominate this event, especially considering her innate eye ability.
"Don't worry, Mari. I will make sure to win this...!"
She assured her friend about victory with a confident expression as she turned towards Erik and Suzune who were also inside the preparation room.
"That's the spirit, Mayumi. I know you will do great, all the very best!....."
Suzune also encouraged Mayumi with a rare enthusiasm, different from her usual stoic self. She had poured a lot of effort into calibrating the C.A.Ds of her friends and wanted them to win.
Erik just nodded towards Mayumi with a slight smile before looking towards the arena with a calm expression.
Mayumi had a determined look on her face, she stepped outside the room and entered the corridor leading to the entry into the event place.
The corridor was fairly illuminated using guiding lights, the exit was usually bright, giving the participants the feeling that they were going to enter a coliseum to fight to the death.
Mayumi walked forward towards the bright exit, gripping onto her sniper as the nervousness disappeared from her body.
'I will secure victory!....'

The loud cheering from the spectators was deafening, anyone could see that the crowd was absolutely excited for the upcoming match of [Speed-Shooting].
8-more participants entered the event place, trigger an equally big response from the crowd as the pressure on the participants increased.
One of the organizers stepped forward, motioning to the 9-participants to follow behind him as he led them towards a projector machine.
"Before we begin the event, I would like to remind you all of what will be happening here...."
"This projector will launch 100-projectiles every 5 seconds, for the next 1-minute. All of you will try to destroy as many tiles as you can within the allocated time, once the time is up, we will total the points you all would have gained by destroying tiles...."
"The person who has the lowest points will be eliminated whereas the others will engage in another round of competing against each other and so on until only two participants are left...."
"After that, we will have them compete against each other in a different kind of match, this projector will release 10-tiles for each of the two participants and whoever destroys all the 10-tiles first wins..."
"I hope you all understand the things I have just stated above, you all are only allowed to use a basic-single targeting wind spell to destroy the tiles, trackers have been placed on your weapons to calculate the points...."
"All the best everyone, may the best person win.....!"
The organizer patiently explained the different rules and gave the participants a run through to the event that was going to transpire that very second.
The 9-participants took their respective positions behind the line, inside their only area, allocated specifically for each participant.
"Ready!?....."
The participants raised their weapons in front of themselves, keeping the muzzle pointed towards the sky, ready to attack as soon as the event begins.
Multiple activation sequence appeared under the participants, their eyes peeled and narrowed towards the sky in front of them as they blocked the world out of their mind, focussing only on the sky in front of them.
"Begin!....."

The projector made a strange sound as 100-shots were simultaneously launched into the sky in front of the participants.

Everyone immediately burst into action, aiming towards the nearest tile to the location of their pre-aim in the sky.
𝔹𝕒𝕟𝕘! (Bang!)
Not even 2-seconds had passed as one of the tiles was immediately destroyed by Mayumi's shot, breaking the previous record of the fastest shot.

Mayumi didn't stop or slow down after the first shot, rather she was performing insanely good. Unlike others, she was faster and maintained a 100% accuracy, she took about 1 second to cast and deploy the basic spell, another second to switch to another target.
Therefore, Mayumi took 2-seconds to destroy a tile and then switch to the other target, these stats may seem okay but considering the distance between the participants and the tiles flying in the air, these shots were amazingly good.

"Oh my god! First-High School is in the lead! The Newcomer's division of the school welcomes the Saegusa princess as their representative in the event and after watching the fabulous display of skill! I am confident enough to say that maybe she will win the [Speed-Shooting]."
"I agree with your analysis, Zuro but it is still too early to say anything, the event isn't only about speed or accuracy but also stability and consistency, fighting 8-rounds straight and full-throttle may tire out our participants..."
"Oh! I nearly forgot that this event jas 8-rounds back to back until we find our finalists, maybe she would be affected by the continuous grind and lose her momentum or maybe she would stay on the top and win the event, no one can say anything for sure...."
