Chapter-141 Beheading the [No-Head Dragon] pt-2

The strange thing about this man was that the space around him seemed to be in a constant state of instability!

"The end is near!"

***

(Inside the hotel)

James seemed to be contemplating his options at the moment; to escape the predicament his friend had imposed on them.

"To solve this problem, we would need to convince Mr. Saltzman to let this matter go." James was feeling thirsty so he decided to drink.

While speaking, he picked up two glasses and a bottle of wine from the table.

*croak*

*pop*

He twisted open the bottle of wine and poured the wine into the two glasses.

"With his resources, it would only be a matter of time before they find us." (James)

"While we needn't fear him due to our status but from the rumors and bits of information I have gathered on him." (James)

"He has some dealing with the infamous, [Sin of the Dragon]." (James)

Hearing the words coming out of James's mouth, Huang froze as pure dread and fear covered his entire being!

"You!....are not serious, right!?" Huang's fall was ashen!

"Why would someone of Mr. Saltzman's status even see that bloodthirsty monster!?" He couldn't believe it!

At this point, Huang had lost all decorum and saw straight up howling at the top of his lungs!

Even so, his intense reaction was understandable.

A few years ago; a mad murderer slaughtered most of the high-ranking individuals of the [No-Head Dragon] organization.

Nearly killing 3/5 of the high rankers within a span of 2-years!

The mad murderer was named as the [Sin of the Dragon] by the other organizations; especially since the individual only seemed interested in the [No-Head Dragon].

It was due to this exact individual that the criminal organization had to go underground for the last three years; solely making money through the [Nine-School Competition].

Anyway, so yes, the mere mention of this murderer scared Huang who valued his life over everything else!

"What relation does those two have!? An assassin and a client!?" Huang questioned with apparent agitation.

Hearing his friend's question, James shook his head.

"I don't know...but if this information is accurate. Then Mr. Saltzman might not be what he seems..." (James)

He passed one, wine-filled glass to Huang.

"Damn it! We can't risk him unleashing that mad monster upon us! What should we do, James!?" Huang accepted the wine.

Yet he didn't immediately drink it.

He wanted to hear his friend's words before anything else.

"If we want to save ourselves, we need to give him a reason." James explained.

"A reason?" Huang, not understanding his friend's words questioned.

"Yes, Huang! A reason strong enough for him to drop this matter and move on." James moved towards the glass wall and gazed at the beautiful view.

"So tell me, do you have any idea about what we can use to our advantage against Mr. Saltzman?" (James)

"Hm...other than his fiance and employees, I don't see any other weakness that he may have..." Huang answered James questioned as he moved towards his friend.

"He has few friends and each of them have considerable status; meaning that we can't afford to make an enemy out of them since we already have our plates full at the moment." (Huang)

"Maybe if we can kidnap some of his subordinates, we can cut a deal with him?" Huang offered his idea which made James sigh in exasperation.

He shook his head, once again!

"Sigh....we need something that may attract his interest." (James)

"We mustn't antagonize him any further!" (James)

"He is a businessman, Huang." James stayed silent for a couple of seconds before speaking up.

"Everyone knows that people like him are ruthless when it comes to profit and loss." (James)

"There must be something he wants!?" (James)

Saying so, James took a mouthful of the wine from the glass held within his palm.

"If we can find out about his wishes and fulfill them...I believe that we would survive this ordeal." (James)

"Do you have any idea what he may want!?" Huang questioned.

He also followed behind his friend and drank the wine from the glass his friend had presented him with; moments ago.

"I am afraid not...but there does seem to be another way out of this mess." (James)

"What way? Tell me!" Huang was excited at the prospect of escaping mortal danger.

Unfortunately for him, he was about to witness a takeover.

"A sacrifice!" (James)

"Huh? What are you saying!? Do you think Mr. Saltzman is so demon god or what!? Haha!..." Huang laughed at his friend's words; not understanding the underlying meaning behind them.

"A sacrifice...the one responsible of all of this! The perfect target for him to release his anger and rage!" (James)

"What are you sayin—" Huang suddenly stopped mid-sentence.

*drip*

*drip*

His vision pulsated and he unsteadily touched his nose; blood dripping onto his clothes.

"What...did...you...do!?" (Huang)

Huang looked at his friend who had a cold expression on his face.

James closed the distance between him and Huang before slowly taking the glass out of his hand; as the latter collapsed on the ground.

*thud*

"I must thank you, Huang." (James)

"You presented me with a perfect opportunity to deal with you once and forever." (James)

"What...do...you...mean!?" (Huang)

Huang struggled to speak as his body started to violently twitch.

"You see, I have been wanting to do this for a very long time."

"Huang, just because you saved boss's life; you get to be the lord of the Japanese branch!?"

"I have worked so hard! Did so much for the organization and you get to be the leader!?"

"Humph! If I wasn't afraid of the backlash from the boss for killing you; I would have easily become the lord!"

*glass breaks*

James violently threw the glasses on the ground before moving towards the helpless Huang and grabbing him by the collar.

"You don't deserve to be the lord!" (James)

"It belongs to me! Not you!" (James)

As once a wise man quoted,

'Human greed knows no bounds!'

---

'That same night, I wrote my first short story. It took me thirty minutes. It was a dark little tale about a man who found a magic cup and learned that if he wept into the cup, his tears turned into pearls.'

'But even though he had always been poor, he was a happy man and rarely shed a tear. So he found ways to make himself sad so that his tears could make him rich.'

'As the pearls piled up, so did his greed grow. The story ended with the man sitting on a mountain of pearls, knife in hand, weeping helplessly into the cup with his beloved wife's slain body in his arms.'—Khaled Hosseini
