Epilogue: To the Land of Blood and Carnage

The wind… it feels raspy to the skin tonight.

"Commander!"

What could this mean? This rough wind that rubs my cheek…

"Lady Himeji!"

Is this… a new enemy?

"What is it? Are the men having problems about the food again?"

"N-no, that's not it…"

The soldier bowed and continued his report.

"A passing group of strangers offered their services, and they are treating our sick soldiers."

"Strangers? Are they not from the Amanogawa Bakufu?"

"W-we don't know, but they seem to have come from the south since they came from the forest."

"I see…"

I gave it some though and decided.

"Lead the way. I've had enough time for meditation tonight."

As we walked back to the camp, I heard the soldiers busily going to and fro.

"Can someone hand me a bandage? The arrow got through his collarbone."

"Y-yes!"

"Get the antiseptic from my bag. His wound might get infected at this rate."

"Got it!"

And in the midst of all that, I saw someone at the same time that exudes a wind that blew gently around him.

"Iwasawa-sama. Here's the antiseptic."

"Good, help me keep him down while I'm applying it."

Perhaps the raspy wind earlier… has led me to the one that was meant to help me in this unending war.
