Chapter 11

"No it's fine -" I was then interrupted by Nao getting closer and closer until she fell on top of me.

"Cmonnn try it" Nao said not realizing the position we were in. I looked up and Nao and started to blush .

"O-okay I'll try it but can you please get off" I said trying to cover my face. Whenever I'm in front of Nao something embarrassing always happens agh, I thought to myself.

Nao immediately realized and got up and quickly scooted to the other side of the bench.

With that an awkward situation had been created. We both sat there for a few minutes before Nao turned back to look at me.

"Hey April can I ask you something?" Nao said in complete seriousness.

"Sure, What is it?"

"Well… it's not something I can mention in public, do you mind going back to the cafe?" Nao asked nervously.

"Oh well…" there was not really anything else to do and going to hangout at the cafe would cost less money. I decided to take her up on her offer, but I wondered what was so important she couldn't talk about it here.

"Ok we can go back, it's not like there's anything to do here anyways" I laughed nervously at the fact that I was the one who suggested this place.

"Alright thanks leads head there once we finish the crepes, by the way do you still not want a bite?" Nao asked nonchalantly.

I sighed and finally gave in as I took a bite from her mint flavored crepe. Just as I expected the crepe had just tasted like toothpaste.

"So, did you like it?" Nao asked expecting me to change my mind from before.

"Nope it still tastes like toothpaste" I said as I took a bite of my own crepe to mask the flavor of toothpaste.

"Tch" Nao pouted " you just don't understand the taste of a true lady.

"Yep whafefer you sway" I replied uninterested and my mouth still full of crepe.

Once we finished our crepes we started to head back to the cafe. When we entered we heard Lea doing something in the back. She came out front to greet us.

"Hello welco- oh it's just you two. What are you doing back here?" Lea's face changed from a customer smile to a dead face within seconds.

"Oh we just wanna borrow the room up on the 3rd floor" Nao asked not batting an eye to Lea's sudden change in mood.

We made our way up to the third floor and sat at the table. As we sat there in silence for a few moments all the questions I wanted to ask came rushing to my head. Why did she want to meet here of all places? What was so secretive that it couldn't be said in public? Is it something that could get me in trouble? As much as I wanted as all of these questions I settled for the simple question of "So what favor did you need of me?".

"Ah yes, so to put it simply… I want you to help me learn about middle and lower class people" Nao said nervously. Meanwhile I sat their in utter confusion. Her words also crushed me because of the fact that she indirectly called me poor, but that was not important right now.

"Why exactly do you need someone to tell you that?" I thought to myself. Nowadays you could just search things up and your desired answer would pop up. There was also other reliable ways of getting that kind of information but instead of complaining about it I sat there and waited for her answer.

"Well it's the most reliable way to me, …the most reliable way to not get caught." Nao said but the last have was muttered quietly so I couldn't really hear it.

"The most what I asked?" I asked trying to somehow sort out all the confusion in my head.

"I'll tell you more, but since everything I'm about to say is highly confidential I'd like you to sign a contract, of course if you don't want anything to do with this we can just go back to normal and act like this conversation never happened." Nao pushed her hair behind her ear. She most likely didn't want me to refuse.

My head was full of confusion but I somehow managed to grab enough brain power to stay calm and reasonable. "Ok you want me to sign a contract , but what would I get out of this?"

Nao had calmed down at this point at answered my question quite quickly, "oh, you would get money, unless there is something else you want?" Nao grabbed a blank piece of paper and started to write the conditions of the contract onto the paper. She then wrote 'Person B will get XXXXX for following the rules of this contract and supporting Person A in their endeavors'.

Nao then turned the paper towards me and asked, " would this be enough?" I looked at the numbers, the amount was enough to support myself for the rest of the school year AND still send a more then adequate amount to my mom!
