Epilogue

Civilians scattered the districts, walking along the sidewalks that branched from place to place. It was a quiet sunny day, with occasional clouds that would momentarily shade entire areas from time to time. Nexi would walk alongside their parents, the Dexus, and the older Oxul stayed at home to rest.

The day was peaceful like any other day.

But a glaring alarm suddenly blared itself into the hundreds of ears that listened outside. They came from large screen-like billboards that lined the buildings on the outskirts of each district. This brought the population's attention to them.

Upon encountering, each civilian noticed something different than usual; the screens emitted the color red. On any normal day, countless irregularities could be broadcasted from Threat Levels 5 to 2; Light, Mild, Caution, and Extreme. But if an irregularity of Threat Level 1: Emergency, were to ever be broadcasted, it would follow this exact same fashion. Warning alarms, red emergency lights, and a bolded message to describe the dangerous irregularity.

"There's an Emergency level Threat!?" A Dexus said among the crowd. People looked up, afraid to confirm their assumptions by reading the message broadcasted.

{ Attention citizens of all districts. Six unspecified individuals have just recently escaped an underground experimentation facility from an organization known as Archangel Experimentation Association (A.X.A.). The association is comprised of a large following of highly intelligent scientists who strive towards imposing a newly world order through an established hierarchy of power. To push forth this goal, the association has performed other-worldly experiments on human subjects to induce supernatural capabilities, of which are unknown. The whereabouts of the threats are also unknown, as the convicts are on the run. The Cardinal Nexus has concurred this to be a Level 1 Threat: Emergency. Citizens of all ages must take as many safety precautions necessary in order to avoid contact with these individuals. Further information will be provided concerning these individuals as authorities continue to investigate. Remain alert. }

People shivered in their tracks as they read the uncommon message. Some people even began to scream out of fear.

"Human experiments? Supernatural capabilities? Does that mean they're dangerous?"

"If the Cardinal Nexus says its an emergency, they probably are really dangerous!"

The questions and theories rose into the air, spreading around the masses like a plague of negativity. Cold sweat was induced, hairs were erect, teeth shuddered, and toes curled. People were scared; scared of the unknown.

"What if they're here in this crowd right now?" Someone said, in a perfect moment where anyone and everyone could hear.

"AHHH!" A girl screamed. The sound provoked fear.

The masses began spreading apart. The civilians no longer walked along the branches of sidewalks in organized matters. Now, they ran like scattered ants, diverging throughout the roads and alleys of their districts. Some people ran towards their homes in hopes of shielding from an unknown crisis, while others froze paralyzed with uncontrollable terror.

30 minutes had passed, and numerous districts had already fallen into disarray. Rumors and theories had already evolved to massive, and fearful heights. That's when the screens re-ignited its red lights, and resounded its blares.

"Another emergency broadcast?"

The people read.

{ UPDATED INFORMATION REGARDING PREVIOUS BROADCAST: It is now confirmed that seven subjects in total have escaped the A.X.A. facility, and are currently on the loose in unknown whereabouts. Of the seven escapees, one is confirmed by authorities to harbor destructive capabilities, and dangerous tendencies. Civilians must avoid any possible contact with these convicts, as encounters may result in inevitable fatality. Information regarding the supernatural capabilities of said convicts can be found in documents now being uploaded directly to the official Cardinal Nexus website (viewer discretion is advised). Further information regarding the physical descriptions of the escapees will soon be provided. Remain alert."

"There's seven now?"

"SEVEN!?"

"And it says that one of them is known to have destructive capabilities?..."

"And dangerous tendencies too…"

The masses were engaged in alarming conversation, slowly adding more fuel to the flame that was fear.

"I DON'T WANNA DIE!!!" Somebody screamed.

"I DON'T EITHER!"

"I HAVE A FAMILY AND A NEWBORN NEXI! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?"

Civilians were afraid, incited with horror, and slowly lost their minds to the frightening emergency message that the Cardinal Nexus broadcasted. There was no stopping the spread in fear. The Cardinal Nexus was absolute, meaning that what was stated was nothing but truth. There was no such thing as doubting the Cardinal Nexus. They were the leaders, the powers, the gods, and nothing but an inevitability to the world of districts.

With this absolution, nothing but unnerve could be felt among the masses. They cried, and shouted, and feared for the worst.

The seven subjects of A.X.A. had now been released into the world.
