"The fuck is an 'irregularity'?" The blonde boy said to himself. Reed felt himself grow in irritation off of the sun's heat that he basked in. He looked at his device's interface and saw that 507 contenders were present in the tournament.
"I've wiped more than 500 at once in the past… I'll do it again if I have to…" He stepped forward, over branches and bunches of tall grass that inhibited his view. His rage simmered, ready to boil at any moment from the first victim he'd see. Reed was ready to kill his way to the top of the chain for another time in his life, but this time he sought a determined reward at the very end.
"Anything I desire…?" Reed thought about it. Although he joined the tournament for this very reason, he still hadn't made up his mind. He already took the lives of those who'd tormented his life, from the psychopathic Overseer Raphael that tortured him daily, to his irresponsible parents that replaced him with another child. He'd even already taken revenge over the very child who'd replaced him, which was the body he controlled at the very moment.
"I'll make you bear witness to even more victims, Abel… Jenzaya was only just the start."
Reed checked his map another time to ensure his direction. He was planning to head towards the North City where he assumed he could find the majority of contenders. "Tsk… Should have warped there in the first place…"
As Reed tucked his tablet away and looked back up, he saw a darker part of the forest deep between the trees. An exclusive clutter of shade formed an image of shadows that lurked from afar. Within these shadows, his eyes caught glimpse of two purple beams of light. They seemed so bright, yet simultaneously dark, that he felt his eyes itch with pain.
"Hagh—?!"
As if looking up directly into the sun, the staining image of its brightness overtook his sight completely, except this one's was purple. The purple disintegrated into a messy array of darkness that slowly etched itself over every nanometer of his iris. Soon, Reed could barely see. His sight was but a mere blur.
"Now, Gula!"
Past this darkness that overshadowed, a tall male stepped out in a dash towards Reed. As Reed was completely dazed by his hazing sight, the male took advantage of the moment and took grasp of Reed's forehead in a quick succession of movements. With the right amount of pressure, Reed was knocked backwards into a tree within a matter of seconds, which in turn didn't hurt him, but did surprise him.
"You—!" Reed tried to yell. But all too quickly he felt his mind lose itself. The memories that burned the everlasting rage into his heart began to extinguish, setting itself free into nothingness as he felt his mind be absorbed.
"Urg—!" The other male grunted. He too was undergoing vast amounts of mental pressure. While one strained himself to intake as much as he could, the other was being strained from the loss of his heavy burdens in such quick pacing.
Reed attempted to see through the heavy grasp that held his face, but all he could see were shadows that slowly built around a glowing pair of purple eyes that stared into his soul from aside. Finally after enough resistance, Reed's irises gave into the darkness, completely allowing himself to be instilled with blindness. By this moment, his mind was left an empty plate. Not one piece of sustenance left, and no scratches remained noticed. Reed's mind was blank; Abel's mind was blank. The border that divided the two souls collapsed with the removal of its foundation in memories, and the separation was now intertwined into one soul—a single being.
"Gula!" A muffled female voice yelled. The ground could be faintly heard scraping as she seemingly dragged the unconscious male away from the scene.
Blank.
Nothing was left in the vessel.
