Chapter 49

He had no idea of how he had been able to use the longbow but that had been a good thing, right?. He had injured Ferlio so badly that it'd take him years to completely heal unless he found a body to seek refuge from.

But now, his victory was short livened as it was too late to defend himself from the incoming fire sword. He doesn't remember what hit him first, if it had been the force that came with the sword or if it had been the sword itself, he wasn't quite sure but what he remembered was the pain he felt when it stabbed him on the chest, right in the middle where his jade piece was supposed to be.

He remembered the gasp that had emitted from his mouth as the pain electrocuted his whole body making him feel numb for a minute before the pain took over and the sword disappeared within his chest after stabbing him.

He remembered the darkness that came with the pain. Everything had happened so fast that he was so sure that he was going to die.

He remembered being pushed back with so much force as if he weighed nothing at all down the forest floor where he skid on his back, the pebbles and the roots roughly scraping off the skin on his back in the process causing him more pain.

He remembered his head hit something so hard, either the trunk of a tree or a boulder, that he felt as if he was bleeding on the inside but his headache intensified and he felt weak. He couldn't stand up not even sit up.

In short, he was seriously injured and away from home. He wasn't going to be home for so long or at least he would be able to go home once he healed, if that was possible.

If he died, then well and good. He was beyond tired and he needed rest. Dying right now sounded like a good idea to him.

He wasn't really sure where he was and he didn't care. The pain in his chest, his head, his back had overpowered his thinking capacity.

If his Phoenix was active then his jade piece would have protected him from the blow. If his phoenix had been active, then he would have easily protected himself. Moreover, if his Phoenix had been active, he would have healed much faster and right now he wouldn't have been in the state he was at the moment.

Lucky felt as if his insides were burning. The pain in his chest was far much worse and all he wanted was for everything to stop. He wanted the pain to stop, the burning feeling to stop, the aching feeling and the bleeding to stop as well.

His throat was dry and it hurt a lot. His mouth was dry as well and he yearned for water. Water was all he needed to cool down his body from the burning feeling he was going through.

Hood slowly walked to where Lucky was. He grimaced at the sight of the current state of the boy laying on the ground.

The boy looked torn apart by the claw marks dug and scraped on his chest and stomach by Ferlio's claws. The deeper mark on the middle of his chest caused by the fire sword was oozing out blood and it seemed to be a deep wound.

The claw marks on the sides of his chest where his ribs were located looked worse as well and Hood could tell that a rib or two had been broken due to the boy's struggle to breathe and the wheezing sound produced whenever he breathed in and out.

Basically, the boy was a complete mess and it was his job to take care of him now and make sure that he healed and got better. He smiled to himself when he remembered the way Lucky used the longbow. It was indeed a good shot and with that, he was so sure that Ferlio would never be able to fly again in his entire life if he had one at the moment.

Lucky's lips parted as his half shut eyes landed on the strange man standing in front of him. If he wasn't involved in the supernatural stuff, he would have said that the man was an alien but he didn't.

The man's pointy ears like that of an elf, his dark eyes, the caramelised skin color, long dark hair, well muscled and toned... the man glitched and morphed into human only his ears and eyes changed as he looked down at him. A smirk evident on his face.

"Who - Who are you?". Lucky asked, regretting it at the end as it came out hoarse plus it was painful when he spoke.

"Let's see, just call me Hood". Hood answered.

Even at his almost near death state, Lucky's brow shot up in question, "Like, Robin Hood?". He questioned though he had no intentions of speaking up but he had to clear this up.

He had read the Robin Hood's story once when he was a small boy and according to the story, Robin Hood helped the people out in various ways so if this was Hood, he had to be Robin as well.

In short, this Hood whether Robin or not had to help him out.

Hood smiled at the boy's thoughts, (yes, he could read minds as well apart from Steele's because of their damn blood tie as so called brothers) It was their first encounter and he had a great liking on this boy.

Suddenly, a clenching feeling rose in his heart reminding him of what he had thousands of years ago that had been deprived off of him. If that incident hadn't taken place, the small boy in the back of his mind would be just like Lucky, all strong, smart and never disappointing.

He managed a sad smile while trying to push the images of the past behind, "No I'm not Robin Hood. I'm just Hood but don't worry, I'll help you out". He declared while he took a step closer to Lucky and squatted so as to be on the same eye level with him.

"In the meantime, some deep and peaceful sleep is all you need". He whispered in Lucky's ear before touching Lucky's head and lulling him to sleep through magic.

With a loud gasp, she sat up as quickly as she could and looked around.

This was not where she had last been. She wasn't on the clearing in the woods anymore but a clean small room that had green neon lights on.

The sheets that covered her strongly smelt of detergent and it made her have a headache.

She quickly took the covers off of her as she stepped down from the bed she had been on and tried to stand up but the nauseous feeling in her head sent her back down in her previous sitting position on the bed.

Roma came through the door not bothering to open it as if it was a mass of air and not a piece of wood between the room Akaya was and the other side.

In her hands, she carried a tray which held a small bowl and a spoon.

"You are awake?". She questioned with a small smile while she placed the tray on the bedside table and sat beside Akaya on the bed.

"How are you feeling now?". She asked again as she looked at Akaya and pressed her hand on her forehead and neck to feel her temperature.

She was back to being the cold self and that was a good sign. "I brought you warm chicken blood. It will help you out". Roma announced as she took the bowl she had brought and handed it to Akaya to drink.

Akaya looked down at the bowl holding the rich red blood. One smell of it made her nauseous feeling get worse as it rose again in her chest up to her throat making her have the strongest urge of throwing up.

She quickly rushed towards the other door that was across the room she was in but it opened on it's own so she rushed inside and emptied all the contents that were in her stomach in the toilet.

Roma held her hair up as she gently rubbed Akaya's back in a comforting phase.

"I don't want that chicken soup". She gasped.

"It's chicken blood not soup!". Roma exclaimed while Mirida peeped through to see what was going on.

"Where's my son?". Akaya questioned almost in a yell.

Roma and Mirida looked at each other then back at her. How to answer that question, they didn't know. They also wished to know of what was going on so as to fill in their curiosity and of course, have something to gossip about at the witch club.

"What happened to him?". Akaya asked, looking over at both of them with pleading eyes for them to tell her what was going on.
