THE LIGHTENING INHERITANCE

The Medallion floated in the air as it released a bright light which shined on the crystal walls.

"I am sure you know what this is, I will use it to seal your power, now I know why you were corrupted so easily by the demonic energy, you already knew your purpose was to serve as a source of energy for the barrier and after all those years, you developed a hint of resistance which grew until the time you were infected by the demonic energy, you managed to break the shackles that binded you and so you made a plan with the demons that in exchange for the guardian beast, you would obtain their help to capture me and obtain my body but unfortunately you underestimated me" James said to the consciousness with a mocking grin as he continued making signs with his hands.

"You fool, do you know the implications of what you are doing, I am the only one holding this place together and once my power is sealed, this whole place will collapse and the demons will be informed of your presence" The consciousness said with rage as it tried to struggle out of it's frozen shackles but it proved to be futile.

"Oh and what do you suppose I do?, maybe let you go?"James asked with a sneer.

"No I propose that in exchange for letting me live, I will give you a pure energy source and I will also help you save the guardian beast" The consciousness said with a smug look and James also started to think about the offer because he knew that since the consciousness had been infected by demonic energy, he would have to spend energy to expel the infected parts and that would also mean he would have to find a supplement otherwise the seal won't work but he didn't trust the consciousness.

"Did you think I would trust you?, I will use you like that" James said with a calm expression as he continued making signs with his hands.

"Wait, consider it for a minute, you cannot save the guardian beast alone" The consciousness said as it revealed a fearful expression.

"If I do accept your proposition, I will have to make a few corrections, first I will have to seal some of your powers, two you will first show me to the real inheritance and lastly if I do release you, you have to serve as earth's new guardian for 10 years" James said with a menacing smile.

"What, you can't do that, I can't accept your proposal" The consciousness said with rage.

"Well, suit your self, I don't have time, the clock is ticking" James said with a grin as he continued making signs with his hands and after sometime he stopped and stared at the consciousness.

"Last chance, the seal is almost complete" James asked the consciousness and after seeing that it wasn't responding, he was about to make a last sign when he was interrupted by the consciousness.

"STOP, okay I accept your offer, now please stop" The consciousness shouted as he was about to complete the process.

"Good idea, now stay still while I seal your powers" James said with a calm expression as he started performing another set of signs which released flashes of lightening which glowed towards the consciousness in the form of chains which binded it and throughout the whole process, the consciousness stayed put and before long, he finished and the chains vanished and the bright glow of the consciousness vanished and was replaced by a dim glow.

"Wait why can't I use any of my powers, you tricked me" The consciousness shouted in rage as it realized that it had been tricked.

"You thought I would trust you when you just tried to kill me, first fulfill your part of the bargain and then I will trust you" James said with a sneer as he mocked the consciousness for it's foolishness.

"Okay, this whole place runs on a huge power source which is the core and it is located at the very center of this place which is also where the guardian beast is being held captive, I can teleport us both there but you sealed my powers and to take you to the lightening inheritance, I will also need my powers" The consciousness said with a cunning smile.

"Hahaha, you smart ass piece of shit, okay you win" James said with a laugh as he waved his hand and the ice disappeared, the consciousness also seemed to have regained some of its power because some of its former glow returned.

"Better?, now let's get to business, we don't have much time before the seal breaks" James said with a threatening stare as he unleashed his pressure on the consciousness.

"Okay, okay" The consciousness said with fear before James changed his mind as it waved it's hand and they disappeared and appeared in a bright room with another orb in the center and this time, he knew that this was the real inheritance because he felt a strange connection like it was calling over to him but as he neared it, he felt a strong sense of danger from it so he activated his undying lightening body which caused the sense if danger to disappear like it had recognized him.

"The two of you stay and watch it, any sudden moves and immediately attack, I must not be disturbed and as for you, just know that your life is in my hands" James said to his clones then turned and threatened the consciousness after which he walked to the orb and immediately he placed his hand on the orb, it seemed like his soul had disappeared from his body.

"Where is this?, wow this place is so beautiful" James said with admiration as he glanced at where he was, he had appeared in a huge field with flowers and butterflies.

"Oh my God, what is that" James said with fright as he stated at the far ends of the field which radiated a terrifying intent of death and it was filled with darkness, when the two were compared it seemed like they had reached a balance because no part of the other crossed into another and as James observed this, he suddenly felt something so he sat down to try to comprehend it.

In the demon palace, the demon titan sat on his throne and before him were several demons of various ranks but the strongest were demon captains.

"The seal on earth is about to be broken and so you will attack it now and destroy it when it doesn't have much power then, since you have managed to locate the God of lightening, send a message to all the demons on earth to converge on his location and kill him in case he has some preparations for you, if there are no questions then leave and prepare for a great battle because even though the gods will not interfere, there will be others who will help him" The demon titans voice boomed through the palace and when he was done, the demons all left.

After sitting and comprehending the two views, James felt that he had gained a lot so he closed his eyes and went through what he had gained, as he was going through, a familiar voice sounded in his head.

"To combine two opposing powers together, you will have to find the balance in between" The voice said in his head with a calm and soothing tone.

As he opened his eyes, he saw a figure standing in front of him and he immediately identified him as the owner of the voice.

"You.. you are me" James said to the figure in front of him.

"Yes and you are me, I am the inheritance, you are more powerful than I expected, you actually comprehended so much in this little time, you have the undying lightening body and also many secrets" The God of lightening said to him with a smile.

"He knew all that from one look" James saw with admiration as he realized that he had underestimated the God of lightening in his previous life.

"I know that you are hard pressed for time so I won't hold you for long, I will transfer to you all my memories, skills, knowledge, and comphrension that I gained when I was alive, are you ready?" The God of lightening asked James as he became covered in lightening.

"Yes I am" James answered with a calm expression as he breathed in and out.

"Well then be ready this may sting a little but since you have the undying lightening body, it shouldn't hurt" The God of lightening said with a mischievous smile as it turned into bolts which moved into James's head.

"Arrg" James said in pain as his mind was bombarded by information.

At the same time, in the city that James was in, thousands of demon soldiers and lieutenants were gathered outside the city with various monsters as their steeds.

"So this is the city that that bastard is in, find him and kill him, kill everyone in the city and destroy it, that is sure to draw him out" The demon lieutenant at the front of the army said with a menacing smile.

"I Terra have returned" The demon lieutenant said as the demons rushed towards the city with their steeds.
