Family and the Absolute Standards

Pan POV

My brother is a Professor of History in one of the best universities in the city, the East university. I am currently studying Psychology at a university in my hometown. I call him Nee, the Japanese word for brother, that's what I often hear from the animes I watched. Nee wanted me to shift to B.A. History.

If I take and graduate History, I will be the fourth in the family as my Papa, Dad and Nee were History graduates and all of them have Professor posts in the universities. Despite this trend in the family, it isn't in the blood, I would say, I insisted on taking Psychology next year. I am taking Psychology courses as a freshman this semester. I'll be in my second year and students can declare their majors in their second year in the university.

Nee didn't want to force me and no one in my family did. Nee said "You have choices! Go with it."

He often asked me about the idea of transferring, to continue my studies at the university where he currently teaches. However, that never crossed my mind because for me I am all satisfied. I could subjectively say that my university is the best in town. It is just 15 minutes away from home and I have my roots in there. I studied Kindergarten, Elementary, Junior and Senior high in that university, so I planned to continue my loyalty by studying my Bachelor's and post-graduate studies in my alma mater.

On the same hand, my friends are the craziest. The best jerks yet the serious during mid-term exams. There are many things I don't want to let go. Too many things that I couldn't count them with my hands and feet.

Nee empathized; so he stopped persuading me. He also graduated from elementary to high school in the same university. He sometimes implicitly inserts it whenever we talk on the phone or whenever we go for dinner or fishing.

"I'll only transfer once I'll live alone," I told him.

Interestingly, one of the reasons I don't want to transfer is because of my ultimate crush who despite his godly appeal, has no girlfriend. Intelligent and very excellent at writing. He is one of the writers in our school publication and he covers both school news and literary sections. In my thought, he is the best man in the world.

✓ Best in numbers because he is an Engineering student.

✓ Best in poems.

✓ Best dimples -when you gaze upon him, you'll disintegrate into pieces and melt with his attractive hotness.

Gee! I am sure he isn't gay, just studious. He isn't a typical Engineering stud who hasn't groomed for a month because he is busy proving theorems and solving brain-cracking math problems. He is always perfect every day. By the way, his name Claude Filimone 😘 but I call him Claude though he doesn't even know I exist in the university.

I don't know why but my charms aren't affecting Claude. I mean, I tried to look at him straight to his eyes one time, but nothing happened. I humbly say I am also blessed with looks. PP, who is my cousin, my friends, and even Mama substantiated that I am good-looking too. The comments and the likes on my Facebook profile picture could support in numbers.

But why Claude isn't noticing me at all, why? 😕

Uninterestingly, the ones who like me were girls from different departments. They send me letters and flowers on Valentine's Day. They crept me 😱 on that day. I'm gay! so stop screaming for my name! All I want is for Claude to write a poem for me on that day.

I think I want to puke 🤮!

Why on Earth girls like me...

Can't they sense I like guys? ...😌
