Journey to the Tower

There is one thing that I've come to realize. This is not a dream, somehow I've been transported to the Breath of the Wild universe and am now the hero Link.

The question is should I be worried about my circumstances. Sure I'll miss my old world, but there wasn't a lot going on. I'm quite glad that I got the opportunity to come to this world. Going on adventures and fighting monsters, that's every man's dream. I think I'll stay in this world.

With my mind made up I found the entrance of the forest, over on the horizon I could see the sun setting. Going back up the path to the first campsite I prepare for the night.

Luckily at the campsite, there was everything I needed to start a fire. Going to the stump where I took the ax out I began to chop lumber. Using that same ax I took some flint and tried making sparks. After a few failed attempts I got an ember going. With the fire roaring, I felt much safer.

Using a stick I roast some mushrooms. When I picked up the stick the Sheikah Slate categorized it as a new entry. Overall the description was the same except that every mushroom replenishes three health instead of two. After enjoying my meal my back pain subdued until it was only a mere memory.

"Tomorrow I'll go to the tower" (Link)

Listening to the ambient sound of crickets my eyes grew heavy and I fell asleep.

After a goodnight's rest, I was ready the next morning. Getting tired of mushrooms I roasted one of the boar slices. As the meat cooked the fat cracked and rendered, releasing a wonderful aroma into the air. My mouth watered as I waited for the meat to finish cooking. After what seemed like an eternity I sunk my teeth into the meat. The juices flooded my mouth as I devoured it.

Using the Sheikah Slate I zoomed in on the tower, in my estimations, it should take an hour or two to walk there. With breakfast done my journey to the tower began.

The tower is located near the edge of the plateau in a large plains area. It was covered in stone, so unless you were searching for it you wouldn't see it.

The grass waved as the breeze blew, the smell of flowers entered my nose. Bugs could be seen jumping around as birds came for their breakfast. Taking interest in these bugs I tried to capture a few myself. The grass made it difficult to catch them as they hid in the grass after they jumped. Then an idea came to me, pulling out my sword. I began to charge it up. After a second I released the charge allowing me to do a spin attack. With the grass trimmed there was nowhere the small insects could hide. I managed to catch three species of crickets, they are restless, stony, and spiny. The restless cricket existed in the game, the two other species didn't. Though this world does resemble the game there are a few notable differences.

Spending a few minutes I was able to capture about 15 of each species. Thinking that was enough I resumed my agenda for the day.

After about half an hour of walking, I found a small stream, feeling a bit quenched, I went for a drink. Kneeling I could see my reflection, I saw a young man in his early 20's with a clean face and long blonde hair. I also had pointy ears and light blue eyes. Cupping my hands I scooped some of the water to drink. In the stream, I saw a blue blob swimming around. The blob jumped out of the water, it was a chuchu. It looked like your average slime in any RPG game. They come in three sizes-small, medium, and large, this one was a medium variant about 1 foot in diameter, which only had 20 health points.

The chuchu immediately lunged at me once it got out of the water, but I was prepared. Taking a step to the left I dodge it with ease, swinging with my sword I made contact. Preparing for another attack I tried to pull my sword out but it wouldn't budge. The chuchu took its stance and lunged at me again, not wanting to get caught up in its attack I abandoned my sword and sidestep to the right. Jumping back I take out my bow, aiming at its weak point, the eyes, I kill the chuchu instantly. Instead of emitting a black mist when killed, it just exploded leaving behind several chuchu jellies and my sword.

If multiple chuchus were to gather I wouldn't stand a chance. I need to hon my power so I can use it when I want.

The distance between me and the tower grew less with every step. Finally, I could see the tower clearly with my own eyes. Near the base of the tower, I could see vague figures. Using the Sheikah Slate I zoomed in on the figures, it was two red bokoblins. One had a bow and the other had a club. Though they are weaker than the blue variants having only 13 health points each, fighting them both would be suicide. Taking out the bokoblin with the bow would make it a one on one giving me better odds.

Once I was within 200 yards of the tower I crouched down. Looking at them again I saw that they were preoccupied with something. It looked like they were sharing a meal, it was a small animal probably a squirrel or a bird. Thanking my luck I got as close as 10 yards of the bokoblin with the bow. Aiming, I killed the bokoblin with a bow in an instant. The other bokoblin looked alarmed as it tried to find where the arrow came from. Not wanting to waste arrows I picked up a stone and threw it in front of me. The bokoblin noticed a sound and began walking towards me, once it was a few feet from me I attacked. The bokoblin didn't have time to react as I aimed my sword at its throat, killing it.

The bow they had was better than mine, mine did 8 damage while their bow did 12. Thankfully I decided to play it safe or else they could've one-shotted me. Getting to the base of the tower, a pedestal could be seen. Using the Sheikah Slate I slide it over the pedestal like a credit card. The ground began to shake as the tower emerged from the ground, rocks broke off and began to rain down. With my life in danger, my power activated. Dodging every rock gracefully I was unharmed. After a while, the ground stopped shaking as the tower stopped growing. Looking up, the tower looked like a satellite tower.

With all this shaking and the appearance of a tower the Old Man will surely come to me.

Climbing the tower will give me 2 features. I will get an area map of the Great Plateau and there will be a teleportation circle at the top. The tower had many overhangs scattered around making climbing easier. After a while of climbing, I could see over the edge of the plateau and it really was miles from the ground. At the top, there was a pedestal at the center with an imprint of the Sheikah Slate. Putting the Sheikah Slate in, the tower glowed blue. After a few minutes, it stopped, grabbing the Sheikah Slate I saw the new features. The map feature would've been useful in the forest. Sighing I wait for the Old Man atop the tower.
