To sum things up, the Ancient Sheikah race oppressed the other races which resulted in the other races retaliating. After successful victories from the other races, the Ancient Sheikah's got desperate and used Executive Order 51. Which caused the whole world to collapse sending it back to the stone age. 10,000 years later someone dug up a guardian and the prophecy of Ganon reawakened.
I want to bring back the amazing technology, but if I don't want history to repeat itself, racism has to end.
Someone knocked on the door.
"Come in" (Link)
Purah came in with a big tray of food.
"Eat up, I made lots" (Purah)
Plopping the tray in front of me, the food didn't look all that appealing. The pancakes are burnt and the syrup is hard, I don't want to be rude so I'll make up an excuse.
"Actually we really must get going" (Link)
"Not until you eat!" (Purah)
"I'm all better now, see" (Link)
Pulling up my shirt I showed Purah that the wound has closed over, she blushed a little.
"You still need energy" (Purah)
I grabbed her small hand and let her feel the now closed wound.
"Well, I suppose it's all better now" (Purah)
Thank you ripped body. On the Great Plateau I was a lean man, now every morning I try to do a thousand pushups, crunches, and thousand squats.
"Where's Shronia?" (Link)
"She said she's stocking up on healing items" (Purah)
I'll have to wait till she returns, I might as well workout.
After my workout, my stomach growled. A wonderful smell came from the kitchen, I let my nose lead the way. Symin is cooking something.
"Link, if you still feel dizzy please say so" (Symin)
"I'm all right now, thanks for asking. What are you making?" (Link)
"A creamy mushroom risotto with lamb stock" (Symin)
"Need a hand" (Link)
"Sure, wash the rice" (Symin)
Shronia returned by the time we were done.
"Great, we're all here. Get Purah down so we can eat" (Symin)
I went upstairs, in her room I heard someone talking that obviously isn't Purah.
I knocked.
"Linky, come on in" (Purah)
Slowly I opened the door, no one was inside besides Purah. Laying on her bed, she is playing with the Sheikah Slate.
"Linky I don't know happened, but I can suddenly use the Sheikah Slate!" (Purah)
Oh yeah, I left the Sheikah Slate here when I went to go exercise.
"What are you watching?" (Link)
"I don't know, I can't understand the language or the writing. I just pressed random buttons, then I heard a voice coming out of the Sheikah Slate" (Purah)
Well, at least she can use it at last.
"Come on, lunch is ready" (Link)
"Uppy" (Purah)
What is she, a little child? Reluctantly I picked her up and we went to the dining room.
"Symin, I can access the Sheikah Slate" (Purah)
"You can!" (Symin)
Symin looked at me for confirmation.
"She can, everyone can now. There was a hidden feature that only allowed me to use it, but I turned it off" (Link)
"Link, may I use the Sheikah Slate? It is my dream to access Ancient Sheikah technology" (Symin)
I passed it over to him, sure enough, he could use it. Symin reminds me of an old man using an iPhone for the first time. No wonder all Zelda did was take pictures, she didn't know how to use anything else.
"This is more complicated than I thought, can you show me how to use it later?" (Symin)
"Yes" (Link)
After lunch I let everyone play around with the Sheikah Slate. Once everyone had their fill of the Sheikah Slate it was time to say our goodbyes.
"Thank you for helping me" (Link)
Shronia bowed.
"You saved the hero" (Shronia)
Downing the spicy elixirs we teleported to the Tahno O'ah shrine.
***************************************
A week and a half passed before we reached the base of the Spring of Wisdom. An old stone spiral staircase leads to the top.
We were greeted by monsters and ore deposits along the pathway. Ores such as amber and opal can be used to enhance armor from the Great Fairies.
At the summit, Naydra is trapped within shards of Malice. Large Malice Eyes cover Naydra from head to tail. Instead of its beautiful olive-colored scales, the deity has been muddied by the Malice turning the scales into an ugly purple color.
The Malice Eyes opened up and stared directly at us. I shot the eye covering Naydra's head, as soon as I did that, it flew around.
It flew downwards slowly swirling around the mountain. I jumped off the edge and began to destroy every single eye.
After I shot the last eye, Naydra's body changed back to its original state. Teal toned scales with cracks of turquoise. Sky blue spikes ran along its back.
It saw me and gently grabbed me with its massive hand. It flew to the top and softly placed me down.
"The hero who possesses the Power of Courage, thank you for freeing me from Ganon's malice" (Naydra)
Shronia stood in awe before the great deity.
"Sheikah girl, continue to aid the Hero" (Naydra)
It scratched itself removing a scale.
"Hero, allow me to gift you with this" (Naydra)
I took the scale with open hands. Though the scale was as big as a sheet of paper and an inch thick, it weighed almost nothing. Dipping its finger into the spring a door opened up revealing the shrine entrance.
"If you ever need my assistance, do return to this spot" (Naydra)
Naydra flew off.
Entering the opening we descended down into the Jitan Sa'mi shrine. This is a blessing shrine, so no challenge is in place. Just the chest and the wrinkled being.
The chest contained a frost spear, it could come in handy when we're in the Death Mountain Region.
Accepting the Spirit Orb we teleported back to Hateno.
I want to purchase rice and sell it in other regions. We went to the Trade Association, one of the major trading companies in this world.
The building looked like a giant warehouse. The lobby is modest and well furnished. People are rushing in and out with documents in their hands.
"Hello, how can I assist you today?" (Receptionists)
"I would like to purchase a large amount of rice" (Link)
"Okay, do you have your membership card? "(Receptionists)
"No" (Link)
"Fill this application out" (Receptionists)
She gave each of us an application.
We went to an empty table and started marking it out. Just general information like the time I applied for my ID in Outskirt.
After filling everything out we went back to the counter and gave it to the receptionists.
"Everything seems fine. Here's a paper with all the testing times this blood quarter. Just come in and ask to take the test, of course, there's a small fee each time you take it" (Receptionists)
I looked at the paper, there's an exam tomorrow.
We returned to our inn.
"How does tomorrow sound, or is that too soon for you. Do you need to study any material like mathematics or economy?" (Link)
"I'm fine with tomorrow" (Shronia)
"Are you sure? There might be things you need to brush up on" (Link)
I'm a little concerned, I'm from a time where mathematics and economy are taught during adolescence. I don't know how Shronia will fare tomorrow.
"I'll be fine, it can't be that hard" (Shronia)
"Well okay then" (Link)
If she does fail it's not the end of the world. We only need one of us to pass.
I slept peacefully that night. The test tomorrow should be easy.
I was so wrong. What kind of test is this? It's like a final exam for a business course.
If I can't pass what hope does Shronia have?
I used the entire 2 hours. Shronia is probably waiting in the hallway, she turned the test in after 30 minutes. She must've given up.
In the afternoon the results came in. I scored a 43%, Shronia got 87%.
"How'd you do so well?!" (Link)
I jinxed myself, didn't I? I kept doubting Shronia yesterday only for her to show me up.
"Jroid would teach teachers in Kakariko tax rates and products produced by each region. One of the reasons Impa let us out into the world was to make money for Kakariko. In order for us to make money, we need to know how the market works" (Shronia)
No wonder she seemed so confident yesterday and why she turned in the test so soon.
"I'm sorry Shronia, please, forgive me" (Link)
"Why are you sorry, you didn't do anything to hurt me" (Shronia)
"Yesterday I belittled you because I thought you were going to fail. Instead I'm the one who failed" (Link)
"I thought you were just trying to make me study. Its okay Link, you didn't hurt me" (Shronia)
"Please, accept the apology" (Link)
"If that will make you feel better, I accept your apology" (Shronia)
In the end, Shronia is the only one that is able to receive a Trade Association Card.
"The fee is 10,000 rupees" (Receptionists)
I gagged. I could pay it off, but that's 10% of my wallet.
"Is it usually this expensive?" (Link)
"Yes, the merchant occupation has risen over the years. The company raised the initiation fee but people still pay it. There is a credit system where you pay a monthly fee with interest" (Receptionists)
Paying in credit will probably put you in debt for life.
I paid the fee upfront for Shronia, as she is broke at the moment. I wonder if the investment at Kolomo Lake is paying off.
"Wonderful, welcome to the company" (Receptionists)
Shronia was given a book of products she could buy. Rice is sold in sacks weighing 100lbs. Each sack is 250 rupees, I think 100 sacks should suffice.
We went to the storage area where we talked to a worker.
"What would you like to purchase today?" (Worker)
"100 sacks of rice" (Shronia)
"Anything else" (Worker)
"No that should be all, how much will it be?" (Shronia)
"25,000 rupees, would you like to pay upfront or in credit?" (Worker)
"Upfront will do, may we also rent a wagon?" (Shronia)
"The wagon will be an extra 150 rupees per day" (Worker)
"That's fine, can we do one day" (Shronia)
He was a little shocked.
"Are you sure? I doubt you'll make it to Dueling Peaks City in a day" (Worker)
That must be where most merchants sell the rice.
"I'm sure, we just need the wagon for a day" (Shronia)
"Well okay then" (Worker)
He shook his head, probably doubting us.
After writing everything down he looked back at us.
"Your total will be 25,150 rupees" (Worker)
I paid him.
I like how tax is included and not calculated after. Why is America the only country to do that?
"Okay, we'll have the products and wagon ready in half an hour, please wait till then" (Worker)
During our wait, we watched videos on the Sheikah Slate. Since Shronia can't understand the language we resorted to funny cartoons with no dialogue, basically Tom and Jerry-like shows.
We were called shortly.
"Thank you for your patronage" (Worker)
Boarding the wagon we left the company.
We drove the wagon to a scheduled area where I put everything into the Sheikah Slate.
We'll return to Kakariko tomorrow.
