Chapter 8 - Wake Up Call

Leo wakes up to a ceiling that he hasn't seen before, He looks to his side and he see's Diane at his side

"Hey, it looks like your okay" Diane said

Diane notices that Leo struggles to speak and get up

"You shouldn't use so much energy, Those explosion really messed you up, the doctor said you'll be stuck here for a couple of weeks" Diane said

"But don't worry I'll visit you from time to time" She added

Leo tried to reply but before he could he starts passing out

The next time Leo would be awake he would always see Diane by his side, no matter the time or day, even when he woke up at midnight he saw her sleeping beside his bed, this really touched Leo

He nudge her awake, He had enough strength to do that

"Hey, Wake up" He said

"Hmm?"A sleepy Diane said

While still lying at his bed side Diane looks towards Leo

"What is it? You should be resting" Diane said

"Silly, I should be saying that to you, You've been sleeping here aren't you?" He questioned

"You should sleep at your bed and not here at the hospital" He added

"Then no one will stay by your side, you'll be lonely also I get enough rest don't worry" Diane answered

"If that's what you want, I also get a friend next to me whenever I wake up so I benefit from it as well" Leo said

"We should probably be heading back to sleep, its midnight" Diane said

"You're right we should" Leo said whilst nodding in agreement

The pair then dozes off till the next day where they would wake up both flustered, Leo wakes up first to see that Diane is holding his hands, Diane wakes up soon and in embarrassment retracts her hands from Leo's

"I'm so sorry, I used to sleep with my teddy bear and I used to hold his hands a lot" Diane says in excuse

"No no, I get it, No need to be flustered" Leo replied

Even though the moment was awkward, both of them laughed it off, they then spent the rest of the day chatting among themselves for days until it was time for Leo to get discharged from the hospital
