11 & 12

Devin was sent to the tailor at the back of the hotel. The tailor was a tall old man with a slim figure. He was like the receptionist. His skin didn't glimmer like glass and his eyes didn't twinkle.

He's not an Exorcist.

"Ah, my last student," the man said. "Come."

Devin walked towards the man where he was instructed to stand on a platform. There was a big mirror in front of him and he looked at himself as the man took his measurements. His fair skin showed the imperfections brought by stress and exhaustion.

There were dark circles under his eyes and his skin looked dry. It didn't glimmer like it usually does.

"You're stressed aren't you," the tailor asked. Devin was surprised and couldn't respond instantly. "I'm sorry. My name is Yuri Vasiliev, I'm the Union's tailor for students."

"You're not an Exorcist, aren't you?" Devin asked Yuri.

The man's eyes widened for a moment before it softened. "I'm glad you noticed, sir. They told me you weren't raised to become an Exorcist?"

Devin shook his head, "No. Wait, students were raised to become Exorcists?"

"Yes, sir. There are currently 2,000 registered Exorcist families in the world," Yuri replied. "However, there are cases like yours. An orphan child that was only discovered at his mid to late teenage years."

"So, I'm not that special?"

Yuri shook his head again, "Every human is special, sir."

Silence enveloped the two for a moment. Yuri was measuring Devin's waist when Devin decided to break the silence.

"Yuri?" Devin called out. The older man hummed in response. "Where is this place?"

"We are in the realm that is not ours, sir," was all Yuri's response. Devin was deep in thought. What could the twin Exorcist meant by Glimpse?

If he really wanted to know what everything means, he had to go to Brightburn. Devin was sure that they will give him the answers he needed.

He hoped they do.

After taking his measurements, Yuri instructed Devin to go to the other room for his ID and his registration. When he got there, a woman who was also a regular human stood by the counter.

"This way, sir."

Everything happened in a flash. Devin was now sitting on a boat that goes to the island where Brightburn was located. His things and Revelation was sent there when he was inside the hotel.

It was daytime when he was traveling. While he was basking under the sun, a scream got his attention. He looked over and saw that the island was in sight.

There were two tall figures standing on the dock. They were both waving their arms in the air like a pair of idiots.

"Little Curls!" Andrei yelled.

Devin smiled when they finally unloaded. His phone was confiscated by Andrew since phones aren't allowed inside the campus.

"Hello," Devin greeted.

"What's up Little Curls?" Andrew greeted.

"I-I'm tired," Devin replied with a deep inhale. The air seemed a bit off. Like it was heavier than the air he inhaled on the boat.

"There's a protective barrier here, Little Curls. You better get used to the air," Andrei said when he noticed the weird breathing of Devin.

"Let's go!" the twins cheered and followed the black tiles that led inside the forest.

The tiles reminded Devin of their skin. They glowed the same way. Like they were made of glass or porcelain.

After a 20-minute walk, they finally got to the place. Devin's eyes widened after seeing the gate. It was a 15-feet tall fence with a 10-feet tall cement fence. The gate doesn't have any holes in it. Like it was a large metal door.

"You have your ID, right?" Andrew asked. Devin was about to get his out, but the gate opened while he was doing so. "Sorry. I forgot to tell you, the gate scans the presence of an ID. It opens when it detects one."

Devin made an 'O' with his mouth and nodded. The inside was as white as the gates. Most of the structures are white with gray detailing and outlines.

"Welcome to Brightburn Institute of Exorcism Asia," Andrei said with a grin.

"Your classes should start in 2 days," Andrew informed.

The twins brought Devin to the dormitory where he was in room C6. After saying that he could call them, the twins left the small boy alone.

"How could I contact them when they took my phone?" Devin rolled his eyes and went inside.

His mouth went ajar when he saw his room. It looked like it was his apartment. The structure and the placement of his furniture and things were the same. Revelation even greeted him when he entered.

"This is so cool," Devin said and smiled. At least there's one good thing he looks forward to every time he comes home.

Looking around, he saw a note and boxes in his dining table. Opening the note, it was from the Union.

'Welcome to Brightbrun Institute of Exorcism Asian Branch

Here are your school uniform and badges. You can use the card that was given to you at Hotel Luxuria to buy items. You have a budget of $500 a day. Feel free to use the monitored cellular phone.

Tina Godfrey'

There were scribbles in the back of the note to which Devin also read.

'We save our numbers on your phone. Feel free to call us.

– 11 & 12'

11 & 12? Devin asked himself.

A loud series of knocks pulled him out of his thoughts.

"Unit C6?!" a boy yelled from outside. "Unit C6?!"

When Devin opened the door, a boy leaned in so close to his face. He couldn't help but feel flustered at how their faces were so close to each other.

"Were they here?" the boy asked.

"Excuse me, who?"

The boy shook his head, "Oh, I'm sorry. My name is Rodney. And someone told me that they were here."

Rodney looked around Devin's room, pouting when he couldn't see what he wanted.

Devin shook his head in disbelief. "Who?"

"Andrei and Andrew!" Rodney said but yelled.

"Oh. Yeah, they just dropped me off here and–"

"You're friends with them?"

"Why are you so excited anyway?" Devin couldn't help but ask.

"They're the top 11 and 12 of the whole Exorcist union!"
