A Bracelet

The next day, Nesryn was so exhausted to go to work, she had chemo the other day but she pushed through and arrived at the company. The day was tougher than usual but she managed to reach lunch time without any hitch.

Though, after that, everything went downhill. As Azriel's proxy she went through some of the files that got passed to his table and she just discovered a huge error in the computation of one of the approved documents.

She immediately got to work and re-calculated everything. Attendant Yun watched as her hands started moving faster against the calculator as if the object was her opponent. He made her way behind her and peeked past through her shoulders, trying to see what got her that agitated.

Before he could see anything else, he jumped when she threw the folder on the table, hard enough to sound loudly "The mathematical computations are all wrong, we would lose almost a billion if we don't double check things." Her words alerted the man. This was basically supposed to be his job, double checking things before it gets passed to Nesryn then to Azriel.

He took the folder and stared at the red ink that indicated wrong things, he excused himself and got out of the office, leaving Nesryn all alone. She ran a hand on her hair and let out a loud sigh. It took her a couple of seconds before realizing her phone was ringing. She looked at the screen and immediately answered it.

"Sir Azriel, what can I do for you?" her tone professional "Don't I didn't call you as a boss but as your lover" she let out a sigh "But, I am in the office" The two talked for a little while but not exceeding fifteen minutes.

Attendant Yun also came back between their phone call and immediately understood who she was talking to as he silently sat down in front of her and looked through some documents, while scrolling through his laptop.

After the phone call, Nesryn resumed typing on her laptop, sending files to Azriel's email for confirmation and signature.

Nesryn attended meetings outside of the company, accompanied by Attendant Yun, who helped her regarding inputting some of his opinion on the matter. In the end, she would discuss the matter with their client, write them down and send them to Azriel for the final decision. Hours passed by like this and before she knew it, it was almost time to go home.

If it wasn't for Attendant Yun, Nesryn would probably not notice the sky darkening and the hours passing, she was so into the tasks at hand that she almost forgot to eat and drink. Attendant Yun had to snap her out of it sometimes so she could eat and take her medicine.

They both got out of the office at around 8:30 pm, finishing almost all their tasks for the next day as well.

As thanks, Nesryn had another driver send Attendant Yun home. After saying goodbye, she boarded the car and made her way home back to the mansion, eyes longing for the familiar scent of her lover.

She greeted the butler and made sure they had dinner, before retiring back to her room, taking a shower and changing into a nightgown, before bringing her laptop and some documents to Azriel's room and continued filing through the documents and her annual report for Azriel.

She was in the middle of typing when her phone rang, without looking she answered the call.

"Hello? Nesryn speaking, may I know who this is?"

"Love," her eyes widened and she quickly placed the phone between her ear and shoulder "It's morning there love, why are you still awake?" her question was met with silence for a few seconds "I miss you" the breathy way he said it made her heart pound louder, she was afraid Azriel might hear it from the call.

"I miss you too" she said, her eyes widening upon hearing the needy tone in her voice. She cant help but admit, she really misses the man. This was the first time he went out of the country without her by his side. As his secretary, she would always accompany him every time and everywhere.

There was ruffling on the other side of the line but their conversation lasted till Nesryn fell asleep. Azriel kept the call going, her breath lulling himself to sleep.

The next day, Nesryn woke up, she stretched but was stopped when she felt arms around her waist. Her senses alerted, she looked up and saw the familiar handsome face of her lover, staring back down to her.

"A-Azriel?!" she shrieked, before sitting up right, staring at his eyes. "Hey baby" he whispered, reaching out and taking her hand on his. "What are you doing here? Why are you here? How are you here?!" she berated, not letting Azriel to speak.

"Babe, calm down. I am here caused I missed you, remember on the phone call? I said I missed you and when I heard you missed me too, I packed up everything and flew back the same night and now here I am" he said, trying to drag her back to bed. "You said you won't be home till the end of the week" Nesryn mumbled, as she let Azriel drag her back to bed.

He instantly wrapped his arms around her once more, pulling her closer to him and inhaling her scent. "I missed you so bad, I kept thinking about you when I was away and couldn't focus on the meeting at all" he mumbled on top of her head, she nuzzled his neck and wrapped her arms around his, their legs entangling one another.

Azriel was forced to let go when the clock struck 6:30, Nesryn detached herself from Azriel, saying she had to take a bath, leaving the pouty man on the bed alone.

He could hear the water running from the bathroom and just sprawled out on the bed, letting out a loud sigh. It took Nesryn a total of twenty minutes, to finish showering and dressing up.

"Stay in for the day, looks like you're still jet-lagged, I'll go tell the butler to prepare something for you before I leave" she said, putting on her shoes and slinging her bag on her arm, Azriel let out a mumble and Nesryn chuckled. She descended the stairs where the butler met her and helped her down the last couple steps.

She said her thanks to the man, before walking to the front door "Oh, please prepare some food for Azriel, it seems like he's still experiencing jet-lag" the butler bowed his head and the car pulled up in front of her, the driver got off and opened the door for her. "Neesssssrrryyyyynnnn!" the loud billowing halted her on her tracks.

Azriel's loud footsteps made their way downstairs, almost tripping down the stairs, if it wasn't for the chair, stopping him from his descent, he would have face planted on the floor.

Nesryn watched in amusement as her lover tried regaining his balance, before turning to her and running towards her direction. "You should still be sleeping you know" she said nonchalantly, looking at her panting lover.

"I didn't realize you left the room" he said, huffing between words. Nesryn raised her brows "You're really out of it, go fill your stomach first before sleeping again. I'll leave him to you" she bowed her head to the butler as thanks before turning around and walking towards the car "I'll see you later baby, I love you" she said before sliding in the car and the driver closed the door.

Azriel watched as the car drove off, the black car taking his lover away from his grasp. A pout appeared on his face "Master, breakfast is served" the butler said, handing over his heart and his head slightly bowed.

He looked at the man before following him to the dining hall. Maids lined up and served him his usual breakfast consisting of salad and some light bread, with a couple of choices for spreads.

"Did Nesryn eat breakfast before leaving?" he asked no one in particular but the butler walked forward "No master, the madam is eating at the office, from what Attendant Yun said" Azriel nodded and continued eating.

The ride to the office was silent but long due to a road accident that happened a few miles ahead of them. Her stomach grumbled and asked the driver to stop by a nearby cafe. When the car stopped she got out of the car, wallet on hand and entered the shop.

Nesryn browsed the bread available and picked two cinnamon danish bread and a caramel macchiato and an espresso. After paying she went back to the car and gave the espresso to the driver alongside one of the danish. The man rubbed the back of his neck and accepted the gift before driving to the company.

She was greeted by Attendant Yun, who got into the car "how long do we have left till the start of the meeting?" she asked, scooting over to the side, giving the attendant the cup of caramel macchiato. He accepted it with a huge smile on his face while Nesryn munched on the bread, taking out a bottle of water from the built-in mini ref in the car.

"We still have 25 minutes, we're gonna be fine" he reassured her and sat back, while sipping his coffee. Nesryn pulled out her laptop and started reading through files till they reached their destination. The driver rolled down the black cloth separating the driver and passenger "Madam, we have arrived"

She smiled at the man and nodded, putting the laptop back to her bag "You can leave your other things here" she said to the attendant as her door opened. The driver offered his hand and Nesryn took it gratefully, and climbed out of the car.

Both Attendant Yun and Nesryn met up with both the Architect and Engineer for the brand new building that was being built under their company, a brand new events place, perfect for concerts, fan meeting, press conference and huge number of guests' event's place, right beside the newly established mall functioning under their company.

Nesryn stayed silent as they walked around the site, she mostly there to check on things and Attendant Yun was responsible for other things. Her job was to look around, observe and write her report then give it to Azriel. She might not seem interested in their conversation but she was listening, a necessary skill she picked up by working with Azriel.

They were on the site for a whole hour and a half, Nesryn bid her goodbye with a soft smile on her face and they went back to the car.

Attendant Yun can't seem to notice her pale-stricken face and offered a bottle of water and immediately asked the driver to turn on the AC. The ride back to company was silent as the man monitored Nesryn's condition.

Thankfully, her face regained color when she started breathing normally, with a sad smile on her face, she thanked the man and they went into the company. Some walked briskly back to their department while others greeted them. Nesryn said her usual greetings and they both boarded the elevator.

Both Nesryn and Attendant Yun were in the middle of the conversation when the door opened, they walked to Azriel's office still discussing things, not noticing the long-haired man sitting behind his desk. Attendant Yun was the first to notice Azriel and he slowly backed away from Nesryn, confusing the woman.

He pointed at the desk and Nesryn turned around, confused. Her eyes widening upon seeing Azriel, sitting behind his desk in his usual grey matte suit. "Attendant Yun, thank you for accompanying my secretary, you are dismissed" Azriel said, standing up then walking over.

Attendant Yun left the room, sending a teasing look towards Nesryn's direction.

Once they were alone, Azriel turned his focus towards Nesryn, who in turn had her eyebrows raised at him "If I remember correctly, you were supposed to be resting sir" she said, no real heat behind her voice.

Azriel pouted "How can I not go to the office, you'll be here all alone, swamped with work while I had my beauty rest at home? No way, I am here and I am gonna help my woman with work" he said, turning around, chin tilted high. Nesryn silently chuckled at her lovers antics and they both got to work, she passed the documents back to him and they worked on Azriel's pace.

He took out Nesryn for lunch at a nearby restaurant and made sure that she took her medicine. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw something and a soft smile appeared on his face. Nesyn seemed to notice this and subtly looked at the direction, seeing nothing but other customers and the shops on the other side of the road.

She returned her gaze back to Azriel, who was sipping the last of his glass of blue lemonade. Nesryn finished her lasagna and. With a smile, Azriel handed her the medicine box containing her pills, Nesryn gratefully accepted it and swallowed everything with a glass of water. After eating dessert, Azriel paid for the bill and left the small cafe.

Since the cafe was near, they both decided to just walk. The bustling sound as the cars passed by struck Nesryn's heart. It's been a long time since she was able to walk around the city like this. Both she and Azriel were so busy and her condition doesn't really allow her to walk around too much.

Azriel saw her peaceful expression and just watched her, making sure she was in the inner part of the sidewalk, away from the passing car.

A little boy, dressed in tattered clothes ran over to the two, he touched Azriel's suit and tugged on it, catching both his and Nesryns attention. Azriel gets down on the boy's eye level "Do you need something?" His voice, soft and kind.

The little boy, looked at him straight in the eye "Please buy this mister, my family needs money for food," the boy pleaded, lifting his other hand, holding a small bag filled with bracelets "My mother made this for us to sell for food" the boy continued, his small beady eyes filled with tears. Azriel's eyes softened and he took the bag from the boy's hand.

Nesryn watched the two in silence, leaning over and looking at the bracelets "This is so beautiful" she said, taking a purple, white and gold beaded bracelet and putting it on her wrist. The crystal purple bed was made of plastic and it twinkled as the sunlight passed through it.

"How much is the bracelet?" he asked the boy "$1" the little boy said, looking down. Azriel counted the bracelets and nodded to himself, he took everything in the bag and placed it in different pockets in his suit jacket before taking his wallet out. He took a couple hundred dollar bills and placed it inside the bag with one of his business cards.

He stood up and ruffled the boy's hair and "go home and eat plenty of foods alright?" he said, the little boy thanked him and ran away. The two went back to the office and continued their day.

Azriel thought up a plan on how to remove the huge amount of bracelets from his pocket. Nesryn suggested several ideas but the one that stuck with them was to give it to his staff.

Everyone from the second and third floor left the office with a bracelet on their right hand. No one saw where or who it came from but there was a note attached to it, saying to wear it proudly.

Nesryn watched with a smile on her face as she passed through the halls and noticed the bracelets being worn.

"It seems like they like the bracelets, some were showing it to each other" Nesryn said, giving Azriel a folder. He smiled and accepted the folder, signing it immediately and handed it right back to her "Just a little thanks to the kid" was all he said before they both got back to work.
